hazel - I believe the protocol is different in SGH... I started lucrin on my day2 of my AF and I had it all the way till today which is day17 and together i started my gonalF today... today is already my 2nd scan for my this cycle ... my next scan is this monday after 5day of gonalF ...

zaza, I hv been drinking dried longan, red dates n ginger daily during gonal-f. Is good. Well, my body can take the heatiness. Not sure abt u...
Will drink during 2ww also.... Is good for blood circulation also....
Singapoh, I feel like offing my phone. coz she calls I will go check my email n stressed!

Sorri...cannot advise u on the discharge during Gonal F as I hv not started on my program yet...
Issit normal tt u will get discharge even before IVF? suggest u check wif the nurses if u dun feel comfortable wif it...they will be in a better position to advise u...

Skies i am at TFC today at around 1030. R u the lady with curly hair? U r there with ur dh right? How come u not transfering ur embryos back this cycle?
Very happy my dosage 225iu...same as u right? Hey the jab today really not painful, dun noe if i am too scare till no feeling or wat. Dh is doing for me tomorrow.

Thanks rostrum I haven't had discharge until yday and today...a little bit concerned if its because I been taking fish eveyday over dosage! Thanks rostrum, I will check with nurse tomo...
Hi elle,the coords didn't say anything during my 1st scan until I asked them wat they were scanning for and they just vaguely say lining and that it is ok...hmmm
Wat should we look out for during 2nd scan? How many eggs and size ?

Dear all,
I'm new here and am considering IVF. I've a few questions to ask and if you all don't mind answering it, I'd really appreciate it very much!!
1. Is the IVF process (of 30 days of self-injection) really giving you all a lot of emotional and bodily stress? Will we experience any significant weight gain?
2. Is it true that the 1st course of IVF will be almost FOC cos of the govt subsidies??
3. 19 days of MC is for what purpose? Is it a post-implantation rest period or???? Do you just take the 19 days or extend?
I've seen Dr SF Loh before for an operation a year ago and he already told me to go for IVF but I just was too stubborn to try. Have been TTC-ing for almost 4 years now and the TCM doesn't seem to be doing much good... Almost about to give up.

hazel - i use to drink red dates + longan + wolfberries everyday but i believe it is too heaty for me as too many pimples come out but luckily on the sides of my face ...
su_yana - how are you? That is y initially Doctor Yong wants to start me off with 225m of GonalF but upon seeing my scan results Doctor Yu decide to reduce to 150ml ...

My gonalF was reduced by Doctor Yu as she is on duty @ O&G ...
rostrum - i was just taking warm honey every morning as i had stop the heaty drink above and was suprise @ the no of follicles I had too ...I kept my believe in God and was thankful @ what he had given me so far ....
hoho03- for stage 2 scan, usually they will look out for nos of eggs, the egg sizes and your lining....

The self injection is tedious and will pose stress to others but as long as u ar compose u shld be fine.. as for the weight gain, most of us here gain ... the cost of cycle will depend on where you would be doing your IVF but i dun think it would be FOC as you would still need to pay to get some of the required blood test done ... You wld be given 19 of hospitalisation from ER all the way to 2WW ... some hospitals do extend if you request... mayb u cld consider Doctor Loh suggestion as you had mention that you had been TTC-ing for the last 4 yrs and age is catching with u ....

Hazel, yes, I am with NUH, Prof Wong. With him for first cycle and will be with him for my 2nd.

Muski, gan, Rostrum, Singapoh, spiffy n other sisters, I hv 5 embryos out if 8 eggs. All grade 4 except one which is grade 3. Used 2 n freeze 3. Got a bit of staining post transfer as doc loh said my cervix is very sensitive n has Abit of infection. But he said is okay, just rest n take my antibiotics.

rostrum, at KKH, grade 5 is the best, followed by grade 4.
soon-to-be, yes, i agree, must be positive.. our will power & determination are very impt...
spiffy, yes, ET over. my earlier post was on my way back. now, resting in bed, just had food, antibiotic & folic acid. correct, got back-up embyros. i have a picture of the embyros & cld see the no of cells in each.
embryoist told me all my 8 eggs are done by icsi coz i dun hv alot to do ivf & icsi has a much higher chance of success..
today, got Dr Loh got 10 ETs, including FET. heard the nurse commenting that there is one lady with no embyro & that when she arrived at the counter, she will be informed.. quite sad...
muski, bbhp shld be the 3rd person to do ET today. coz i heard her name being mentioned by the scanographer..

I feel that GonalF is not painful but cetrotide n lucrin is more painful.. My gonalF dosage is 150iu but after 1st scan Dr Cheng increase my doasge to 187.5iu.. I guess I have the least questions to ask him.
Coz I'm PCOS so I can't continue with the cycle in case of OHSS.. Abit disappointed to know that I can't continue coz this is considered as 1 cycle but I guess safety is more impt.. Now worried about the quality of the eggs for tmr's collection..

Backaholic, HL will be around 18 days from the day of ER. Prof in NUH is quite nice am very sure if you need to extend, he will do so. FOr sure, the HL will cover the blood test and appointment the next day to see dr if it is a postive pregnancy. So you dont have to take mc again.
