Hi Devline and eskimobaby,

I read your posts about OHSS. I had mild OHSS in my last cycle and the doctor told me to take 4 egg whites a day. Apparently the albumin in the egg whites is supposed to help. My mild OHSS did not get worse and slowly improved so maybe it helped.
 


Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone had undergone ICSI with Dr Loh at KKH. What were your opinions of him and KKH?

I am an Australian living in KL and after one failed cycle of ICSI here in KL, my husband and I will be trying again in Singapore with Dr. Loh.

I would love to hear any of your advice or opinions.

Hi Cheriec,

I'm with Dr Loh and I did ICSI for my cycle. Dr Loh is known to have a pair of magical hands... a lot of ladies BFP under him. I think the embryologist is also very impt cos they are the ones to select the sperm and inject into egg.

i agree that NUH charges are more expensive than KKH but at that time i decided on NUH as there was no waiting time. That's why I went ahead with NUH in May 09.

Littlemik, oic. I find that nuh and sgh no need to wait can start quite fast. But as long as u feel comfortable with the dr a few k cash shld be worth it. Perhaps nuh and kk has got more personnal touch whereas kk is lacking. I havent start my cycle but ladies here nurses did most of the job..
 
hello...another newbie here... I've TTC for almost 6 years now and looking for recommendation to a good IVF doctor. Anyone can advise me on this pls? I am looking for one with good success history.. coz me have seen 3 gynaes already (though not for IVF yet).

or any advice on what other issues I shd consider pls? Does KKH, SGH or NUH means a longer waiting time? SOmeone mentioned about good embryologist but where can I find a good one? I have also gone for laproscopy before..

Does it mean for IVF, it may be better not to work?
 
Hi Despondent, Welcome to the thread. I'm with Prof Wong at NUH. There are many ladies here who are with Dr SF Loh at KKIVF. It seems that Dr Loh has magical hands and high success rate, evident among ladies here. As there are many people seeking treatment at KK, the waiting line is very long. At NUH the line is shorter and the more personal. Prof Wong will do all the scans. Price wise, NUH is slightly more expensive compared to KK. As for SGH there are a few sisters here who are from there. Dont know much so cant comment. However a choice of doctor for IVF is personal. You may want to fix an appointment with the Dr of your choice to see whether you are comfortable with that Dr. Whether you want to work or not is also a personal choice. There are some sisters here working and got BFP. You will be given 2 week HL after embryo transfer. However during gonalF or purgeon injections you will have to go to hospital every 2 or 3 days for scans and blood test. Good luck in finding a Dr for your IVF journey and BFP to you soon.

Hi littlemik, pari was my cycle buddy back in early may. Failed cycle for me then. Havent really decided on when 2 start 2nd cycle. Tentatively this aug, as wat serene said.
 
lyn, enjoy your trip. I remember u once mentioned tat u'll need to bring your injections with u, rite? Remember to keep them cool. Have fun!

keep finger cross that both of us will have smooth labour this time round. Hope like most people says that no. 2 will be very fast.

you may also like to take the kk antenatal class (10 lesson), patients get subsidy. It is very interesting, teach you how to take care of baby, labour pain relief method, massage during pregnancy, etc. I found the class very useful as these are the hands on knowledge that you will not find in books. They put a baby doll, show the exact steps to bath, how to hold baby, change diaper, etc. Hubby can attend together with you and more convenient as you can put your gynae appointment date on the days you have lesson, then no need to waste another trip to hospital. You could start anytime, advisable to start lesson early, if you miss any class, can also attend make up lesson. This will come useful in long run, as sometimes confinement lady, maid or mother in law take care of baby the wrong way, so at least you know what is the correct method.

yes, will probably consider going accupuncture and TCM since I did not do any of this during my first IVF cycle.

Pari suggested Dr. Zou in AMK. I will request my medical record from NUH first.

Do give it a big cry to release all your dissapointments and move on.. Meanwhile, try to regulate back your health. Do discuss with your dr for the results in preparation for next cycle...hugz

wow, it was really a brave move to resign. true enough teaching is indeed stressful. brain constantly thinking abt work despite the hols.

My last ER, i had too many eggs. 41 to be exact. fertilised 17. i had OHSS and was in a terrible state. hopefully my FET will be on 24 or 25 june. ER is not that bad. u can handle it.

good luck this fri. keep us updated. if everthing goes well, we can still be cycle buddies, technically.

I only hired my helper when my daughter was in K2. Before that, we had no help. I still have my helper as my daughter is going in school in the afternoon and I need somebody at home to be with her in the morning (and to pick her up from the school bus at night).

Welcome to the thread. Most of the sisters here are with Dr Loh. Well known for his magical hands. However, he is also very popular in demand and the waiting time could be slightly longer.

Hi Littlemik, Sorry to hear about your failure, cry your heart out and get back on your feet again soon hugs. If you are planning Aug/Sept then we can be cycle buddies. I also went to Dr Zou after my failed cycle. Call CHR and ask for your reports they will give it to you, that's what I did after my failed cycle Mui Hong just printed the reports from their system, they are helpful. Take care of your self.

Thanks , as for me .. eggs white doesn't help my swelling of ovaries after OHSS.. Anyway, no choice.. just have to endure ! I am with Dr Loh @ KKIVF.. Hmm.. no doubts of his golden fingers! Just waiting time will be slightly longer, just gotta be patience.. Btw, i done ICSI with Assisted Hatching with Dr Loh.. Oh btw, welcome to our big sisters' group.

Same as Lina , 1st IVF failed + having little fertilized embies.. 2nd IVF , i went to Dr Zou @ AMK for accup.. now more eggs and fertilized embies and BFP like Lina too.. god might not grant u ONE baby but on your next cycle he might give u a twins

Gloria, if you start suprefat in Aug, then maybe we can be cycle buddies again. Really hope we can do again together, then can BFP together also. Hopefully
