I hope that i will graduate very soon too. M now in the 2WW. Every morning, when i wake up, i try to "talk" to the embryos in me - to encourage them to implant well and grow well.... M trying all it takes now..

HI Yaya, i am with Dr Jin. Was originally with Dr Seah but she went on maternity leave. She treated me when i was going thru IUI and SO-IUI. Now with Dr Jin, so far, i find her quite good. You must ask her alot of questions...for example, i always ask her what i can eat and cannot... there are some foods that i have been eating but they turn out to be too "liang" for me. As for the appointments with her, it's relatively alrite to get one from her... i think her last appointment is 630pm. If you are going thru the stage 2 jabs, it's normally once a week.. closer to ER and ET, it's more regular. Prior to transfer, it's almost everyday, and after transfer, to have the accu every few days too. She will advise you. Quite a nice lady.

Hi Alyssa,

Actually the Qaseh is used as supplements and also medication for certain ailments. If you buy it for the first time, they will give you a CD to watch. N the testimony of all those who have succeeded in using it. People who was spotting during pregnancy and have high chance of miscarriage manage to carry baby to full term, also pregnant lady with heart murmur condition...and many more.

There are 2 different types. Red bottle is for lady and green bottle is for man. Supposedly for ladies trying to get pregnant the supplement is supposedly to prepare your womb for implantation. In addition it also helps with your cervical mucus too.

As for men, it helps to incerease the viscosity of the semen and improve the sperm count.

After taking it for about 3 months, my hubby's sperm count has increase a little, the quality is also slightly better although not in top form yet.

DO you know where Masjid Kassim is in Kembangan? There is a shop on the ground floor that sells it. YOu just take the supplement twice a day, morning and at night (3 table spoon - must use plastic spoon). They say something about keeping the supplement in top condition and not to be mix with the chemicals that are used to make your metal spoon.

I am at stage 3 - at 2ww... that's stage 3, rite?
i have started seeing TCM for accu since i started SO-IUI.... so if i tell u the entire cost, that's not accurate for IVF solely.

If it's just for IVF, without medicine, i think it's probably about 2 packages or so.. each package is 5 sessions at $350. Are you just starting IVF?

When will you be having your 1st scan? I miss akachan too and like you, i wish she is also BFP. Also just wnat to share with you, my TCM mentioned dun eat danggui as it is not good for early stage pregnancy.

Starzy: I also got the info from the ladies here. it will help with implantation, which i think is very impt stage during 2ww. I got it from an organic shop before my ER. But i think major supermakert should be selling that too. Just take 2-3 per day will do.

Dear ladies,
Went to see doctor for US again today. My ER is changed to 28 oct. and not on Deepavali. Doctor say my follicles are slowing down, growing slowly, only 1mm a day as my dosage is reduced to 150iu. 2 of them 17mm, 1 at 16mm and 6-8 that are 14-15mm and many small ones. More or less the same as yesterday. Doctor said that as both my left and right ovaries are too high up, it is very diff to scan and measure. She is pushing my ER one day back for the mid-size follicles to grow for another day. During my ER, she may have to do extraction from tummy if there is a need. Tonight, I’ll have my final injection of Gonal-F. I hope my follicles will grow well. Tomorrow evening, I’ll make a trip to CARE to do my injection as preparation for Tues, so Mon will be a rest day for me. One thing different is not I’m not getting HCG injection like the others, I’m getting Lucrin bec Lucrin works the opposite way for me. She said this is to prevent OHSS and some doctors also use this method. Don’t really understand why my doctor is doing so. But just tell myself to trust and relax.

I am in the same boat as you. I just had a BFN last Tuesday. Had a fresh cycle in July and FET in Oct. Give yourself time, prep up your body again and find out the cause/s of failure from your doc. Then decide on your next step. I am giving myself a break from IVF and trying other ways. I am trying with this Malay massage lady. She had quite a no of successes in treating ladies like us and she knows abt infertility issues. If no results again after abt 6 mths, I will have a go at a 2nd fresh cycle mid next year. Don't give up and don't despair. I know it sounds easy to say, but I have been through 5 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs. So take care and perhaps alternative methods like TCM, accupuncture or massage might help prep your body up.

I have never heard of Qaseh. My mum also don't know abt it. I am trying out this Malay massage lady. She did some kind of 'partnership/internship' - can't find the right word, with an Indian gynae at Gleneagles. She knows what PCOs is and even asked me if I had lapscope done. I am glad my mum found someone who understands infertility issues. The other time, I had another lady for massage, and when I told her I have cysts in ovaries, she doesn't understand. She has her own pantangs too which I have to follow. Will start with her after my AF ends. Hope this cheaper alternative way can bear good results for me. If not, IVF will come again for me mid next year.

Btw, aside from Masjid Kassim, do they sell Qaseh at those jamu shops in Geylang? So it's liquid form? Is it err bitter??

mystyy - Seriously it is not bitter at all... it is very sweet. got a little after taste but once you get use to it, should be fine. By the way buah tiin = figs.

Supposedly they have all the ingredients that is known to improve health in general. Seriously sepaking from my own experience, I used to have very painful 2nd day of cycle. The cramp is so bad that I literally have to take mc and just rest at home but since i take this the pain has subsided a little. It doesnt totally disappear coz I sometimes 'forget' to take the medicine.

Massage is also very good. My mum is a massage lady too. Usually she does for those who have given birth. in my case she helped to massage and 'push up' my uterus. According to her it was too low and if i were to be pregnant can result in easy miscarriage.

suggest that you speak to Prof Wong or find a other new gynae who's more flexible to try to other protocols.

i guess one of the disadvantages of public hospitals is that the protocols tend to be 'factory style' and not personally tailored to individual, esp for the 1st & 2nd cycle, as they usually treat based on 'what currently works' with majority.

I believe KKH has a short protocol for fresh cycles - where the lucrin stage is done away with or shortened.

A quick question to the rest of the gals.

anyone here manage to successfully convince SF Loh or any gynae at KKH to use blastocyst transfer (day 5 embroyo tsf)? do let me know as i would like to switch to a gynae who is willing to try blastocyst tsf at KKH IVF.

That sounds wonderful! As long as it's not bitter. I used to try away the concoction that my previous massage lady did for me. I am so naughty hold 2 cups, pretend to fill one cup with water, but the purpose is to drink the jamu then spill it out in the empty cup ....hhaa.

Abt figs, I love figs. During 2ww, I munched on dried figs coz lots of pantang cannot eat this and that. And of course figs have lots of benefits in it.

happy, sue - yesterday i went for my 2nd can. left side got 9, right side got 6. lining is 9.7. a bit disappointed that right side only increase by 1 follicle. the nurse also said right side follicles are high, meaning that doc will have more difficult time extracting them

i'm still on 112.5 dosage. tues going for 3rd scan. also 7.45am sue!!! think i'll bump into you there... heh heh. and i didnt talk to my tummy during jabs, i only thinking of my chocolate and to get it over with quickly. ha ha, so selfish.

yesterday i also went to the waterloo temple to pray for a smooth IVF. everytime i think of having my own baby, i get all choked up. then i also prayed for emotional strength, cos sometimes thats what we really need

last night i asked DH what he was feeling during this process. he hasnt said much abt this, only help me with my jabs when he's around (he's based outstation most of the time). he said he's trying to take things normal, like its just a process and not to pin all hopes onto it. was a bit sad when he said this

but i think that its also a way of managing our expectations... afterall, all of us here have other blessings in life - loving hubby, financial ability to go for IVF, good docs, technology...

hopefully - can you tell us again what you did or didnt do and eat during 2WW ?

U mention that ur ovaries are very high. Mine are very high too, whenver i go for US ..it really painful. U said that ur doc might need to take it our from ur Tummy during ET?..MEANING??..im kinda worried. Went for US on sat morning, some of my follicles are ard 12mm and some 11.5 and the rest are small ones. My doc said to cont with the jab and come back n tues for another scan. She did not increase my dosage she maintain it at 200 onli. I suggested that why not increasethe dose, she says afraid that i might have OHSS as i alrdy hav lotsa follicles. But for the nxt 3 days the follicles wont grow up till 19mm rite?..as they grow only 1mm each day isint it?..correct me if i am wrong. My lining is 8mm when checked on sat. Can someone enlighten me??..im also worried abt ovaries being too high.

Mystyy..yes ges u shld try QASEH..and also try taking one spoon of honey everyday..its good for the womb. And drink milk with almond and saffron. Also eat raisins...all the best for ur pregancy..

I also went to waterloo temple to pray on Sat morning. haha. Did we meet? so Qiao! Infact, I met my friend with her hubby and her son and daughter in the temple. This is the first time I bump into friends or relatives in the temple. Hopefully, this bring good luck. Hehehe

After praying, we went for lunch and I went to OG Giordano to buy some tops. You know they have those plain t-shirts at $5 each if you buy a min of three. The present t-shirts I’m wearing at home is abit short and exposure my tummy when I sleep. Not sure is that the reason why I get a lot of Wind in my tummy. So, I have to buy more baggy T-shirt so that my tummy is well covered for the 2ww.

Wow, you got a good numbers of follicles. As long as they are growing, slow and steady than should be ok. Infact, you have more balanced growth than me. My left side has got less follicles compared to my right. But I don’t think so much, as long as they are of good quality, slow and easy is fine.

You so cute, take chocolate after each injection. Ya, it is a good way to reward yourself. But don’t take too much chocolate as they contain Caffeine. Like Tea, coffee and cola, too much caffeine intake can affect both male and female fertility. But don’t worry so much as long as you don’t take more than 3 cups of coffee a day. I reward myself with those nuts I bought and sometime a bottle of vitagen.

Think I read somewhere that lining 8-12 is considered good. So you are doing fine. And you got quite a numbers of follicles too. Like wat I told ponytail, as long as the follicles are growing slow and steady, everything is fine.
Regarding the high ovaries thing, I was told that my doctor may do extraction from my tummy during ER, not ET. If your doctor never mention anything, than don’t worry. During ER, we’ll be put to light sedative or anesthetic. So don’t think we’ll be aware of anything. I just hope everything goes on smoothly, don’t want to think too much into the details.

I know of a lady who is very good with massage. she is a therapist, she does therapy for cerebal palsy and many others, she appeared on Suria before she is very good n unlike the normal malay massage ladies. She did studied in the trade. If u want i can give u her number. The lady's name is Rosminah. Her no: 98808002
Home no: 65151725. She stays in Bukit Batok. She knows about infertility issues, abt PCOs, IVF and IUI. She does home visit. I am not sure of her charges as I will only start doing it after my AF ends. Should be sometime end of the this week, will start on the massage. For mine, she won't do massage when my AF comes, but she wants it to clear first, then do the massage. Her method seems different from others and good thing is she understands infertility issues. Coz some massage lady, when you say you have cyst, they don't know what is it. Will update you more once I had my massage done.
