Hi all,
For those who had failed a fresh cycle earlier, do you get to know the reason from your gynae? I had 2 failed cycles earlier and was told maybe chromosomes issues so embryo could not develop after ET and thus no pregnancy.
For poor embryo quality or development, its usually due to poor egg since cannot be poor sperm right cos they will surely have selected the best sperm to fertilise already right?
I see that you all are discussing ICSI, is that better than IVF?

ICSI is part of IVF, instead of letting it fertilize on the dish naturally, ICSI is done by picking a sperm and injecting into the egg to assist fertilization.

What is POAS? I have yet to decide if I want to test using HPT first this weekend or not. The blood test is on Monday. Haiyoh,....decisions decisions. Right now I don't have any cramping or spotting...only frequent urinating and sore bbs. Okok o.....i better go stop all these scrutinizating again. That's what I do when I am too free.
Ok now, any order of any other cake?? to make my mind occupied hehee...

are u seeing Dr loh kim gek at her clinic in people's park or thong chai?
i'm asking cos i was seeing tan siew buoy at thong chai some yrs back... i've stopped seeing her for a year or so coz of many reasons - i found it hard to discuss thgs with her & she doesnt explain much, plus she wasnt supportive of ivf, and also i wasnt diligent with brewing the herbs.
i called dr loh on the phone & told her that I saw dr tsb before, she advised me to continue seeing dr tsb - she mentioned sthg like its their policy that I cant change to see dr loh since i already started seeing dr tsb.. its not nice or sthg.
i asked dr loh wats her charges if see her at pple park. she said $48 for a wk's medicine. does she prescribe powdered herbs or herbs tat needs brewing?
now I'm not sure if I shd see dr loh as recc by thomson or try dr tan kian seng (at clementi) but my hubby not so keen abt clementi coz its far from our place.
how long hv u been seeing dr loh?

does she do accupuncture for u? i read that it helps with ivf.

yesterday i had this urge to go out and buy a dozen of hpt and start testing on 9pd2dt. I control the urge because i know how inconclusive the results are going to be. I am going to wait until the pregnyl is out of my system. ( 2500 takes 7 days, 1000 takes 2.8days)

Same too. I am trying to keep myself sane. But I do not have the other 2 symptoms leh - indigestion and bloatedness. Only since yest a bit of constipation. I had a shot on day of FET, after that no more. Just taking crinone, utrogestan and progynova.

sue, hopefaith - sigh... the clinic called me. my hormone levels still high so i have to continue with suprefact. fri going for another blood test... hope can go stage 2 soon. tonight and tomoro i still have to do 50ml suprefact

I dont know who else i can turn to now. No one know I am doing this.
This is my 2nd fresh cycle and currently i am in 2ww. Tomolo will be my BT but i have this feeling that i am not going to graduate. I have been having cramping feeling after ET. And i see blood just now.
Every fresh cycle i go through, although my blood test showing that i am responding well to medication but i do not have enough eggs at all.
The first cycle i have is 4 eggs, and only 1 managed to fertilize.
2nd cycle (current) i have only 1 egg out of 6 follicles and it managed to fertilize.
All my caretakers dont understand what happened because according to them i am young since i am 30 and all my follicles is of good sizes when retrieve and my FSH level is within normal range too.
The doc suggest that i will do a short protocol next time which i will be injecting Gonal F first which i believe is IVM. But this is also a trial and error situation. Does anyone know where i can do test on the functionality of ovarian since blood test is not working for me? My doc said that there is no way to test other than blood test.

High protein diet is eating lot of eggs , milk ensure & beans (since I am veg). Maybe it helped some, intend to continue this diet. Not sure if 2 week rest makes a difference, I have tried both taking MC the first time & working for few days the 2nd time - but taking full rest shouldn't harm atleast. Next time will do this too.

I paniced... my AF just came and my bloodtest is still half a week away..
and it was right after I have explained to you its normal to have AF after gonal-f...heeeeeeeee....
but then, I called and checked with the nurse twice........ha..
finally I understood its ok...... because the hormon is supressed the eggs are not growing but it will still be there........ha..........
har... what a day.........

Don't give up as yet, all you need is one good embryo. And this may just be it.
My case has been similar, each time I had very few embryos for transfer with none for freezing & I am 32. Plan to work on improving quality before going ahead for any further rounds.

-Depends. Sometimes when I am not working, I see her at Tong Chai. I started with her clinic first.
2.I'm asking cos i was seeing tan siew buoy at thong chai some yrs back... i've stopped seeing her for a year or so coz of many reasons - i found it hard to discuss thgs with her & she doesnt explain much, plus she wasnt supportive of ivf, and also i wasnt diligent with brewing the herbs. -Yep, the clinic will put you back to TSB. And honestly, TSB WILL NOT BE HAPPY if you ask to change doctor! (note my cap!) Dr Loh is a very soft spoken and gentle lady, so she quite scare of confrontation. Suggest don't put her through it.

-Be prepared to wait in Dr Loh's clinic. Pple queue up 1-2 hrs b4 she open, and her consultation per patient is 1hr, at least. But worth the wait. Just get familiar with Chinatown like nobody's busines.

i am with kkivf too, nurse briefing will explain to you the procedure, the cost, ask you to sign the forms. I recall the forms will check if you allow studies to be done to your ivf treatment, if anything should happen to you or spouse, how they would handle the frozen eggs, etc. The briefing should take around half an hour.

i just saw the ivf support group. i myself have went thru all ways of trying to get pregnant. Thru Tan Siew Lan from Thong Chai. Taken Chinese herbs..... finally went thru IVF 3years back.
my first pregnancy was a pair of twin gals. they are 21/2yrs now. my 3rd kid also gal is 5months now. All from IVF.

sue- aiyo, kalang kabot. ask me can already mah. i asked doc why my AF not here, he said some patients will get some patients wont. so not that important. i think i'm like you too - small things also panic. like extending my stage 1. actually only extend 2 days, dont know why i so gan jiong. maybe meet you on fri

Didn't he/she increase dosage of your injections or check if you still want to proceed? Do you have PCOS?...if one has that, one either has small number of follicles or many many follicles (two extremes), according to my gynae.

Sunflower, same here! I also had few eggs despite being young (30yrs) and good no. of follicles when on stimulation stage. But somehow, little fertilised and never excellent grades, average only and so no implantation or pregnancy so far.

But you know, in nartual stage the eggs are already starting to grow during the AF. Thats why I paniced thought the eggs will already be selected and cannot have more than 1.. hehehehehe..
so what I understood was, the superfact surpressed the levels of E2 so the FSH is not created in my ovaries and no eggs will grow.
Thus, even when the AF comes there will be eggs but not growing. so by Gonal-f penetration the eggs will start to grow.

Joyyy, your question is about whether gynae recommend increase injection dosage to increase to increase follicles right? I assume this is at the point of base scan, approx 5 days after start jabs?

I m experiencing this feeling of tightening abdominal area the whole of today. I m worried since this is only 8dp2dt. Does this means anything? I just had my pregnyl yesterday together with my progesterone BT taken. Can i know wat is ur Progesterone BT level?
Sorry to bombard all these qns as i m kinda worried. I just hope my 2 little ones are doing great inside and have already successfully implanted.

Did you call your clinic to tell them what they are experiencing? Normally I will call them if something 'different' happens to me. So far I did'nt have like what you mention. Only frequent urinationg and sore bbs. At times, fluttering feeling in tummy area and occasional discharge. Since I do not go back to clinic for jabs, I do not know abt the progesterone BT level. Will know after the blood test.
If there's a 24hr hotline no maybe you can call to ask. Are you under pte or govt hospital? Coz if pte they would have answering service of which your queries will be directed to your doc and then your doc will give you a call back. Perhaps when you heard from your doc, that can ease your mind.

I was on lucrin for 2 weeks then no more other jabs, coz I am on regulated cycle for my FET. The first fresh cycle, I was on short protocol. I was on lucrin for 2 weeks then no more other jabs, coz I am on regulated cycle for my FET. The first fresh cycle, I was on short protocol. Hubby's antibiotic is only given halfway thru your puregon. That's to prevent infection.

Ristin,
ICSI allows embryologist to select only the best sperms and eggs. On the contrary to what you said, ICSI babies should have higher IQ , cos they are specially selected. All our children will have high IQ, yeah!

Ponytail- i am on d15 of lucrin and will continue it till Friday, then go kk to start the puregon but not sure if will still continue lucrin while on puregon..so dont worry cos if u count my days i will take lucrin for 17 days..hmmm..so i ges no need to worry rite?..i dnt even noe why they never ask me to just come dwn today to take puregon why wait to friday..i will coll them tmrw and ask them tis question.
By the way..when on stage 2 puregon..wat kind of diet shld i take?..i shld start with the egg whites??..raw egg whites rite?..
