IVF/ICSI Support Group

My lining was 8.3triple 3days before Er. Shld be ok leh. Read that Embryos not implanting can be due to chromosome abnormalities of embryo or receptivity of the womb. Treatments of embryonic issues include trf of blastocysts. Womb can be improved by scratching. Tried both but to no avail. Of cos there are 101 other reasons to the failure as well.
 


Mbbhopeful, I know how you are feeling, did the scratch and this round transfer of blasts. Yet af still came. You can walk in tomorrow mrn at KKivf for bt not a problem. They still take for u. My fresh blasts are less develop back then still early blasts so maybe yours this round also early blasts. Hope the embryologist will advise your two other embryos status. they might be better and your next fet might just work out. Don't give up!

As for me, just like you also don't know what is next. I guess let's just take a step by a step. Baby steps to achieving our dreams
 
Yes even the fittest blastocysts growing at the lab can fail anytime if they want. This round I transfer one hatching blasts and the other expanded. Compare to my fresh it's seems to be of a better quality. So if this cycle fails I got more qns in my mind why or what went wrong.
 
Mbbhopeful: hey dear. So sorry to hear AF arrived. This must Be a really hard time and no answers after 3 rounds. Take care though. Sorry it wasn't better news

I know of someone who tried at least 5 fresh and many fets in between. Now she is a mother of 3 and reaching 40. Nothing gets her down till she gets her hearts desires. Her heartaches I know very well too.
 
Sunflower: wow! What an inspiration to those who dun want to give up. I have always wanted 3 but this round after being plagued by miserable lining, not sure how much strength I have to go on for #2 and #3. She is really a strong woman.
 
Sisters, I read the book "So Close: Infertile and Addicted to Hope" last year. It was an amazing book. The author tried 7 rounds until she finally got a twins. I am one of those who just don't dare to give up...
 
Sadly yes Jumbo thats a factor too but if do via govt hospital, considering the grants and use of medisave ok la, still can get by a few cycles. Now FET also got grants unlike before.
 
Yes jumbo I agree. Even if we come Back stronger after every cycle, it's the financial part we need to handle. There is limit to all govt subsidies. And in between every cycle we still might do extra like acupuncture, vitamins and supplements. All these are money :( and also the time we need for every treatment.

But not everybody can succeed after 3 tries n not everybody has chance to do FET if low reserve. So must really think n decide how far u want to go. U don't want to wipe out your entire savings n in the end still no baby. I guess this is life.

But having said this if u have the financial means don't give up n keep trying. Be it ART or natural.
 
Thanks sisters. I really thank each and every one of u for your encouragement and support. I believe I will not be childless, it's just a matter of when. My goal is to have one boy and one girl. The stories u've shared are inspirational. I'm sure we will achieve our goals one day.

Actually m v glad that there's govt grants to help us if not I may not have gone ahead with so many cycles. But as for now, I will pause my tcm treatment. Maybe resume When I'm prepared for fet.

Btw my hb is asking me to take Low dosage baby aspirin. Is this required for me and does this require doc prescription?
 
I think any medication better clear with doc first. Also note that aspirin cannot take before ER cos blood wont clot easily so at risk during ER. If FET then ok can take before ET. Usually doc will say when to start. Then if preggy must take all the way till 3rd tri.

All in all must make sure you dont have any underlying health issues too.
 
Hi ladies..today is 11dp2dt and juz as I had feared,AF is starting..starting to have small clot of blood and some bleeding already..guess it's all over again..:(

Dr S also cited implantation n/or embryo issues with me for my failed fresh n hence recommended endo scratch, saizen and perhaps blastocyst for next round if I get good number of oocytes. Yr bfn is exactly what I fear... I dunno how will I take the disappointment if it doesn't work for me the next time... U r
a strong gal for going thru thrice... I dunno of I will go for a third round of I fail the second. Now deliberating of I should postpone my April cycle.
 
Santhiya, sorry to hear AF reported. But are u certain its AF? Why dun u go for BT? As long as it is just spotting, there is some hope.
 
Jumbo gal, u make sense there. Other than physical pain, emotional stress , Finance is one of my consideration too for how many rounds I can go too. As it is, we spend $1000 each month on supplements, tcm consult, tcm herbs n acupuncture. This is on top of IVF cost. I am also a practical person. I hv no wish to work through my bones to raise my child past the age of 60. My husband is already 41and I am 37 this year. If we dun hv one in these 2 years. I doubt I will continually try IVF. Dun want to wipe out my entire saving n retirement funds to chase after something that may never be mine. This is sad, I know but it is also the reality of life.
 
Does any one know if kkivf does killer cell test? And how much it will cost. I know it may not be fully proven yet but I just tot of asking Dr S if she will recommend before I do round 2. Dun want to go thru more heartaches for next round if I can eliminate one more possibility for failure.
 
The test Is actually testing fr antibodies in our body. Yes, kkh has the test n i did before after 2nd miscarriage. I cant remember how much it cost coz i claimed all the bills 3 months before and after miscarriage fr insurance.
 
Hi jk, thanks for sharing. I am now going to research more on this natural killer cells. Is it just some blood tests? On a separate note, did any of u ladies take a vaccine to prevent ovarian cancer? I just remembered that I took a couple of years back. Dunno if that has an implication on the quality of oocytes.... Sigh
 
Yes, the dr just draws blood for testing.

Fr what i understand there's no approved medicine here to counteract these antibodies.

If killer cells is really a proven issue for me, I dun think I will try again. It is God's will. I will hv to accept. I am open to adoption but husband isn't... That makes the whole situation even sadder. :( :(
 
Nothing is definite. My colleague has antibodies. But she didnt even know. She got pregnant accidentally. In her final tri, the baby just stopped growing n was small n his heart is skipping beats. Dr loh run some blood tests n found out she has the antibodies which are attacking the child. Worse case, he may need a pace maker after birth. Dr loh just asked her to eat durians, hopefully he will put on more weight n gave her a steriod injection to mature bb's lungs to prepare for early birth. The rest can only pray.

Her son was born safely and all was well.

Portia, I was really hoping for this cycle to succeed too. Now my hb is v v depressed for the 2nd day. Haiz. Sometimes I blame myself for not being able to succeed. It breaks my heart to see how happy he was playing with his little nephew and how he yearns to be a dad.

Maybe your body is different and will still succeed? But I do highly recommend u to clear all doubts with the doc before starting another cycle. Eg. Killer cells thingy which I also wana ask.
 
Hi ladies, I have asked Dr Loh about this killer cells thingy. He said if a patient is found to have killer cells (through BT), the patient will have to take intralipids (forgot is during ER or ET). Intralipids is a kind of drip, if not wrong, is oil-based and is a one-time treatment. Intralipids is said to prevent killer cells from attacking the embryos and hence increase the change of implantation.
 
Hello am positive anti d with A - blood and my doc says no issue as long as we know once pregnant Will give appropriate injections

santhiya, till BT is due everything is possible. maybe you want to get BT done soon so if really got low beta but show pregnant you can faster get some injection support. at least you try. my iui ended in positive pregnancy but bleeding so i thought its menses report, maybe if i have detected it faster and get injections support everything could be different thou no promises. at least do something that you wont regret.

mbbhopeful, you went bt yet or wait fri? hope your remaining 2 is good then you can have another fet without the fresh stimulation cycle. every cycle that ends with a negative is sad and depressing but soon we must get over it and get ready for the next round no matter how disappointed we are. i know i will say why like that, could i ever get preg, but i know no matter how sad or how much i complain after some time i will get myself ready again for the next cycle just to get a BFP as long as finanically i am ready.

as for me, i am starting to slack already. 1st week i still more careful, but entering 2nd week doesnt have any symptons already so i am starting to do more housework already. my BT is still so long away....a day without af is a chance a hope, i got 7more days to go....
 
Hazel, a line is a line. That happened to me when i tested early. The line is so faint, i must look at it so closely. But when i m nearer to BT date, the line gets darker n darker.

Sisters who are in your TWW. if there is any spotting or bleeding, pls go for early BT to confirm. You can be pregnant while having spotting or bleeding. If pregnant, get support earlier. Remember you are pregnant unless the BT says otherwise. Fighting!!!
 
Bbjourney, today no line at all fyi. But u were right abt yesterday being the line so faint until i need to look at it closely. I was expecting to see a darker line today. But none. So end of the cycle.
 
jklim, a faint line for pregnancy kit is still positive. maybe still early so hcg not high enough in blood. another 3days to your bt so got 3 days to build up. what come may, at least you got your princess belle. that is the most important.

i agree with bbjourney. get a bt done or use a hpt (might be able detect too) if you bleed during tww. good luck to the rest of ladies during the tww including me :p
 
i need some advise! just went for my scan. today is my 10th day. will be doing natural frozen. egg is now at 16 1/2 but my lining is very bad at only 3mm. is there any advise on how to increase my lining??? any experience here going thru same as me?

Saw more red wen I went to the toilet earlier..call KKH..told to come before 2pm for early BT..lost confidence already..previous cycle failed on 11dp2dt too..and it was wedding anniversary on that day..today is my 8th year of knowing hubby and had to fail second cycle on this day..still have 3 more frozen snowies..will be going for FET next cycle..will never do fresh cycle ever again..enuff if all the painful injections and ER!!
 
Santhiya good for blood test coz could be pregnant but unstable. I had spotting few days before bold test and bleeding on blood test ... Few days later was even hospitalized during my last pregnancy. If pregnant but unstable, need supports.

Hi babydusty, can try red dates wolfberry tea daily, red beans souo on alternate day and daily Accupunture, it worked on me, sometimes our lining only grow more when close to ovulation. Good luck.

thanks LoveG. i just bought myself raspberry tea. how many times a day should i drink? im so worries. doctor said he is not confident my lining will grow to 8mm till ovulation. :(
 
Jklim, I suppose yr friend was really lucky. She discovered only towards the third trimester n had intervention at the right time. Not many can be so lucky. For those who discover killer cell before pregnancy, the odds would seem much higher...

Hi babydusty, drink more red bean soup (warm one). Not scientific proven but for my case, it did help. :)

Can any sister tell me what I shld do next? Having failed 2fresh & 1fet, I will stop trying for ivf for a while. Till have i've no idea whether my other 2 blastocysts were frozen till i go for bt. My thought was that ivf is the last resort, if this doesn't work, what would work?!? feeling depressed but at the same time puzzled why things always turn out this way. Most people will succeed within 3 rds, I really don't know what's wrong with me? Tried tcm, acupuncture, endo scratching and even to the blastocysts stage.

Previously one sister was mentioning abt killer cells. Can I find out more? is that part of the standard tests to be done? Read that that can affect implantation

I drink during lunch hour after meal and also tea time around 4 pm (twice a day) Taken about a week when I started my stimulation.

I just dig my record based on my handwriting journal. Mine not a fantastic figures but Dr. Tan said it is ok.

First scan before injection: 4.4 triple
Second U/S scan: 4.4 (not sure why this number but I guess I started from here to drink red bean soups)
Third U/S scan: 5.5 triple
Fourth U/S scan: 8.2 triple
Fifth U/S scan: 9.4 triple

Note: Gap between scan is every alternate day.
