IVF at NUH--feedback pls

Cool, I did not have frozen emby except for my 2nd fresh. That I only had one to freeze. So prof suggested to go for 3rd fresh since the one frozen may not survive the thawing process.
 


hi mel, u mentioned u feel discomfort in ur tummy so you went for check up at sgh. the doc did a laparoscopy for you and discovered u hav endo cyst and removed for you? Where is ur endo cyst located? inside ur tube? Does the laparoscopy procedure also scan the uterine wall? Sorry to ask you so many questions as i m veri new to laparoscopy and its purpose.
 
Serene- the endo cyst is at one side of the ovary, 1plus cm. Usu endo cyst appears at ovaries not on uterine wall. The blockage I think is the endometriotic tissue that got stucked there. So far, both KK and SGH ultrasound (done by sonographers) were able to detect.

Jamp- I don't have any appt w my endo Dr yet. Usu I try to book only after my menses cos I need to do scan cos my last Oct visit I didn't do any scans. But I will rem to ask him abt hysteroscopy.
 
Just back from CHR. Blood test for hubby and signing consent form. We were thinking hard of how many embryos to transfer past few days because I was told I can transfer 3 by a CHR nurse when she briefed me the FET procedure. I only learnt today that I can only transfer 2. Ok lor.. in a good way we don't need to worry about triplets.
FYI, up to 3 embryos can be transferred if you are above 37 and have had 2 failed IVF procedures.
Su, I see. Yours are all fresh cycles.
 
Coolcool, just read in the papers that they hv reduced the maximum number of embryos transferred to 2, down from 3 in the past. It's part if their effort to streamline processes after the Tmc saga.
 
So who are trying now? Tub?

I'm thinking should I try for fresh cycle again.

Maybe with Dr Chew since Prof is going for long leave in Dec.

Oh for FET can't use Govt Grant. Can use Medisave but will be counted as 1 time.

Vi, yes trying Ivf now so I am v blur about the procedures and terms used. It's been a long long journey... So tired and so disheartened especially with the wave of people getting pregnant these days.
 
Now stage 0... Not even suppression cos day 11 tomorrow. I hope he will be bk when I start stim.
 
Cool Cool, the Woman's clinic told me he will be on long leave in Dec.

Tub, hang in there.
It is not easy journey for us. Some success faster than the other. Just keep on trying and you will reach your goal 'pray hard' sooner than later.

Vi, my precious boy had some immuno-related condition which the hosp could not conclude the diagnosis until now.
 
Hi prof going away from 19 nov to 7 dec. Then he'll be away again 14-15 dec. So the nurse said she has to prolong my suprefact jab by 3 days so I won't miss prof for et.
 
Sorry I meant won't miss him for er and et. I am also starting the suprefact jab on cd22 cos cd21 falls on a Sunday.

I'm wishing you all ladies to have your dream comes true. And I'm praying for a second child for myself. Amen...

my first cycle is really a heartrending experience for me, hurdle after hurdle, and then came to abrupt ending.

Hi AT, welcome...how long hv u been ttc?

U can start to take multi-vits or some sistas take conceive well by blackmore. I've been taking vit c, e n folic, prof says sufficient.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle-balance diet with exercise. U may want to try acupuncture or tcm to 'tiao' yr body. When I started my first fresh, CHR nurses told me usually pple go accup after failed cycles.I started mine after my failed cycle n D&C

Which mth will yr cycle be?
 
Hi AT! Welcome! Just the general stuff as mentioned by jamp plus keeping ourselves stress free although that is quite an impossibility for me! When r u starting your suprefact? I'm starting nov 21.
 
Hi Jamp! Thanks for the reply! I've been trying to conceive for 5 years. Had 2 IUIs and 1 SO-IUI at Thomson Medical, all failed. So, I think IVF is my only hope ...
I had my pre-IVF check last sat and seeing prof Wong on 22 nov ...t saw other ppl's post tt he will b on leave during this period .. So kinda of puzzled...
Anyway, if the pre check is ok, I hope to start ASAP ..
Btw.. Wat is sistas? .. Do u by chance know the IvF success rate in nuh

I think u can find out the ivf success rates of the various hosps at Moh website. I chose NUH for its proximity to hm n office
 
Hi all, this morning I went for scan and Prof checked the lining and said it's 8 mm and ready for ET. My ET will be on coming Friday. 2 embryos will be transferred. Excited and looking forward to it. Will be given HL until pregnancy test.
