IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

I have realised that Low AmH with caused infertility and AMH level will not reverse anymore.my amh is 1.2 in 2017. However my doctor still push me to do iui. As resulted i have failed 2 iui and ivf cycle.
For patient like me low AMH with husband sperm poor mobility. Shall doctor advise me to straight to ivf instead iui? I am 36 this year and i started consultation in my 34.

I was with KKH last yr & I am 35 yr old. Doc did not allow me to go straight to IVF. They ask me to do SO-IUI 1st. After the 1st try which failed, they ask me what I want to do next. When I suggest to do IVF, they did not stop me.
I intend to do SO-iui but my doctor said i can just go for normal iui as i still ovulate normally. SO-iui is come with comid and some medication before proceed rite. However, i think he has oversight on my low amh problem..

Hello, joining this thread as i'm considering IUI/ SO-IUI treatment. Anybody with Raffles ( Dr Sheila Loh ) currently?
When I am doing SO-IUI, I was not given comid. They give me medication that need to inject. Follow by ultrasound and proceed.

Virus Fertility is under Roland Chiang's leading? So sorry to learn about the failed attempts in IUI. Stay strong and hope you're currently under good hands to help you with your concerns.
@Jazz123 , we are with the same doc. I am seeing prof for about 2months now and tried 1 IUI with him. If this doesn't works out. most prob will be iVF next as he suggested that I don't have much time to claim the govt subsidies

Heard they have weekly seminars online and you can interact with their doctor before deciding if you wanna head over for appointment and consultation.

Hello! Just dropping in to say jiayou to all planning or in the midst of doing iui/ivf!
And also an update.. Am 15 weeks now! after conceiving via SO-IUI.. Was on duphaston till ard wk 11-12.. I did the oscar test (based on scan and bloodwork) at ard 11-12 week (quite notorious for false positives) and got a high risk result for down syndrome.. Not sure if the result from the oscar test was affected by the fertility drugs/injections during the SO-IUI cycle.. It showed i have a low PAPPA, and high free beta-hcg (an indicator of DS).. Hence did the harmony test (based on DNA) which is more accurate, had to wait two weeks (felt like forever) and fortunately was given all clear.. So just posting in case in future someone experiences the same thing too.. Hope it'll ease ur worries, and might wanna consider skipping to the NIPT (such as harmony) straight, or do NIPT concurrently with the oscars..

Used before and out of the 10 that i used, 3 failed. So be sure to buy in bulk and test =)

My period came 7 days late..it was BFN. Probably due to the duphaston pills i was presecribed with. Took sometime for it to wear off from my body.

Hello Im a new member and would like some opinion/review of experiences for IUI at either KKH or NUH. I will be 43 this year and DH 46. I will be going for my 3rd IUI at KKH as a subsidised patient next month. In my experience, i felt that our our treatment was "run-of-the-mill" and cant help but wonder if the experience might be better/ more thorough at NUH. I know we are an older couple trying with IUI and the recommended is IVF. But financially IVF is not an option for us. If the IUI is not successful this time, am considering going through another round of fertility investigations at NUH for a 2nd opinion. If anyone had a positive experience at NUH, any advise would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

So i did my iui today .. now e waiting and countdown starts right .. i was thinking e sperm vial i saw is soooo lil only, would it really aid me to be preggy? I keep feeling got fluid coming out of me as i walk lo -,-

N to think 2 days ago (tues) e MO doctors recommend me to convert iui to ivf... say i got 9 growing eggs (from 13 to 9 in size, not sure whats e measurements) n that it would b too dangerous to continue iui. Even called consultant to asked. So i said ok i will drag le husband to come down to sign e consent forms for ivf. I have been going to hospital alone, doing my scans on 9th Saturday,11th Monday, 12th Tuesday. I also jabbed myself since last Tues 5th Mar.
Then ytd (wed) 13th said i got 10 visible growing eggs, recorded 14.5 to 9 in size n alot smaller unidentifiable follicles. This group is another group also called consultant in front of me to verify. But this group say to proceed with iui on 14th Mar as e schedule is there already.
Zzz i really faint at their advices lo, say this today then next day change again... sighs. Fate of a subsidised patient...

I now very shag feel plus headache lo. Did iui at 1030am just now. The physical discomfort is so bad that i can't even do or look at anything but to sleep. E bloatedness (since e last jab to mature eggs 1) still persist. Diarrhoea x3 since yesterday.

Hi Gloriousdayss, So sorry to hear that your IUI treatments did not turned out well & it must have been a emotional journey for you. There should be some discussions about NUH in this forum, which you may want to take a look. May you find the right channel and doctor to address your concerns. Jia you!

I find HSG many times more painful than the actual IUI! At least it gives peace of mind that fallopian tubes are not blocked. Remember to bring pad on that day as you might spot right after the procedure.

I know right! I read it can be pretty uncomfortable and painful if you've got blocked tubes. I've quite low threshold for pain and i most likely be requesting for anesthesia to make things easier for both parties. Thanks for the note! =)

I didnt have any med to insert but i got a oral med to take twice a day for n need to take for 19days. Its supposedly to make my womb lining thick.

Perhaps ask ur doc to go slow? Mine i was felt was rushing for time wth n my tears just drop when she push in the ink. Felt like a sharp pain.
My fren who went pte say she didn't feel much pain... mayb its just me -,-
Hi Starlights, hope you will be better in the next few days. I wonder what causes the diarrhoea. I went to go SO-IUI last week..no diarrhoea, physically not pain but abit discomfort.

Hi eatpraylove, thanks for the reply. I feel abit bloated now, bad cramps in the first 2 days and slight headache. But all now seems fine except slight cramps.
Am in TWW, 8dpiui today. Hope we will all strike this cycle together!

Which hospital did you do at? Any symptoms so far? I had a really bad cramps yesterday; akin to period coming. But no spotting at all. Since this is my 1st SO-IUI, wondering whether I should continue if it doesn’t work out.
Yes we are just 1 day apart.
I went private with Dr Charles MP Lim at MT E. He’s a fertility specialist and doesn’t do delivery. All he does is get to make us get pregnant. It’s my first SO-IUI. I only hv on off cramps now but it’s bearable.
Same here, contemplating if I should go for another round if it’s doesn’t turns out well.
The successful rate is not high for iui though. Let’s pray

Ya my ohss is making me feel so uncomfortable lo. Most people had only a few eggs upon iui but I had 10 big ones a day before the procedure... The fatigue is killing me so I just wana lie down n drink warm water..
Pains that woman make prior to having babies... Today is post day2 iui, so I just not thinking about it... E fatigue makes me sleepy anyway-,-

Did your gynae advise you to go for IVF instead? At least can freeze those viable ones. I had been warned beforehand that mine won’t proceed if there are more than 4 big follicles. How’s your DH’s sample after washing?
On a bright side, higher quantity, higher possibilities! Maybe can even get twins / triplets! Jiayou! Have lots of bedrest ya! Best time to escape household chores!

Not a must to do 3 IUIs. By first IUI, you kind of get a sense of how your body would react to the stimulation medicine and how your DH’s sample would be after washing. Guess your gynae will advise accordingly after the first one. Ultimately, it’s still up to your discretion at the end of the day.

After washing, your Husband sperm motility should improved greatly.
Before washed 2.5ml, grade A 7%, B 25%, C 4%, after washed, left 0.5ml for 80% grade A and 20% grade B for iui
I know if you have more than 4 big follicles they will ask u to proceed for ivf instead. It’s weird that you have 10 mature eggs and still let you do SO-IUI. What’s the size of your mature eggs?
It must be really crampy for you but bear with it, your chances are very high!!

hi, anyone seeing prof pc wong at NUH? i just switched doctor, was at KKH with Jessie Phoon and did SOIUI once in Jan 2018. And didn't want to continue as i was not emotionally well. Prof Wong advised that we do more rounds of IUI and he doesn't think we need so-iui or IVF for now. So-IUI is as cumbersome as IVF so he said might as well do IVF if we are gonna do SO-IUI. Anyone has any success stories doing IUI with Prof PC Wong so far? Love the nurses there.. they are all so kind and gentle.

i went as private, so just called prof pc wong directly. went to prof pc wong cuz he seemed to have pretty good reviews and heard that hes a fertility expert. Jessie Phoon didn't really offer much solution and she wasn't even the one who did the procedure for me. i even tried TCM (acupuncture & drinking herbal stuff) with dr tan kian seng in clementi but i ended up with fever for a month and he didn't even know how to treat my fever. had pretty bad experience with his nurses also who openly shared when we should try etc. i was thoroughly embarrassed by them.
