IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

@Cleo & Yukimi, sending prayers your way that the heartbeat will be strong! And this will be a healthy complication-free pregnancy carried to full term!

MoreBBs, are you on duphaston? I gave up reading too much into symptoms cos it was driving me crazy, I also read side-effects of duphaston includes bloatedness, which I am feeling most of the time, had a headache the last 2 days but I'm attributing it to the crazy weather.

I am just taking the duphaston, my GNC prenatal supplements and on alternate days, Eu Yan Sang Essence of Chicken which my mum bought for me. My last chemical pregnancy had low HCG, so I only detected the BFP at 5 weeks, and no gestational sac so I won't be testing early this time round...

Cleo: Sunday will be 10dpiui..

Yukumi: ya.. It's not a easy jorney for us..

Morebb: ya.. Maybe it's jealous? I don't know.. Haha..

Jo: thanks.. Ya.. It's easy to say let go.. But maybe cuz now I haven got a baby in my arms yet, I believe when u have one my thinkin will change ba.. Haha..

I'm also on duphaston, one pill morning, one poll at night..

I also try not to read too much symtopms haha..

Vanilla *hugs*... I guess there really isn't much else to say... let's just look forward to the day when we rejoice with a healthy baby in our arms

Cleo, I'm on duphaston too morning n night.

I think no chance for me, cos its been 3 yrs I never see bfp. Really hope this first puregon will make me one previous bb.

MoreBBs, don't loose hope before your 2ww ended, everything is still possible. Me too never ovulate for years, And my first SO-IUI, we got it liao. Don't know the timing just right or my hubby sperm is super lol.

Thanks jo, i hope you will get your bfp after you got back from your trip.

About duphaston side effect, i think slight headache and bloatedness is normal. But if you are feeling very very bloated like almost OHSS, thats mean 99% chance that is BFP. Cause the hcg hormon kick in already.

Cleo, I wish I know the difference between slight bloatedness and extreme bloatedness... Haven't had OHSS before (thank God!), but I do have a lot of gas (*ooops too much info, sorry). I am just feeling that my pants are getting uncomfortable, so opting to wear looser bottoms... that's all...

Hi girls, I'm official pregnant after beta test today with hcg level 438.9! Passing all the bb dust to u girls who are at 2wws wait now! Hope more good news can flow in! Both cleo and I strike at first iui. So do have faith in iui!

I took blackmores conceive well gold 3 months before the iui and my hb took vitamin e and c 2 weeks ago before iui! Hope these tips can help more ladies strike!

Bb dusts to all!

More bbs: I do have cringing pain on the right side of the womb at 7dpiui. I reckon it is implantation. Tasteless taste bud; not much appetite. Brown spotting on 12dpiui.

Other than that, no other obvious symptoms.

Thanks twinkletot . All the best for your iui!

Happy blossom: my hb is taking kordel's natural vitamin e 2 capsules in the morning. 1 capsule is 200iu.

Blackmores conceive well gold is available at guardian or unity. 1 month supply cost like $46. Do look out for 20% discount at unity at times. I bought mine at unity at 20% discount.

Bb dusts to all!

Hi Nervous Babe.. I didnt do any acupuncture too.
But I did see TCM to tiao my body 2 months before IUI.

The TCM I'm seeing is Chen Mei Er yi shi. But during the cycle, I stop TCM as they mention TCM drug may hinder ovulation by injection.

Hope this helps! BB dust to all!

Hi all, I am back from my trip, did a HPT this morning on a cheap dipstick I bought online and it was a BFN. No symptoms so far, no spotting, no bleeding, Beta test scheduled for tomorrow but I am already mentally prepared for results... Here's hoping there'll b good news here today and tomorrow.

Jo, I'm thinking not to go for blood test if I tested bfn myself, don't want to spend money to have poke.
Hope ur hcg level up up tomorrow.

@jo did u use clearblue pregnancy kit? It is more sensitive and accurate. Can pick up even with very low hcg level. Can consider to buy one tonight and try.

Jo hope you have a positive beta test! If not, don't be disheartened ya! Be positive and try again next time.

Cleo all the best for your hb scan on tml. Where r u doing your hb scan? I'm waiting for my scan and hb scan on 15 may at kk. Still 1 more week plus to go. . Do you suffer from morning sickness? So far I don't have that symptom yet.

Yukimi, i will be going to dr Kenneth clinic at mt.a basement. Me and hubby choose him as our gynae this time. Well the last time we went, i only can see gestational sac. Scared like hell, cause my first pregnancy was missed miscarriage. I have ms, but not in the morning, and sometimes at night i skip brushing my teeth because i really feel very bad case of nausea lol. I remember with my boy i didn't have ms. Well maybe one or two.

Hi ladies! Happy Friday!

the test came back negative, as expected. And AF has already started very lightly even tho I am still on Duphaston (last dose today, but since not pregnant, I will be skipping tonight's dose). Yes, new cycle, new hope. Might try IVF in Jul, give myself 2 months to go for TCM and try naturally before that...

Jo: yup new cycle new hope! You can try Chen Mei er YI shi or XIA Rong in eu yang seng paragon. Both are good to tiao body for fertility. But think XIA Rong is more ex than Chen Mei er. I see Chen Mei er personally to tiao my body too prior to iui. Jia you!

Cleo: yup think is normal to see sac only at such an early week. Kk told me can only hear hb from week 6 onwards.
All the best for your scan tml!

Have a good weekend ladies!

Cleo how's the scan today?

Yukimi/ Cleo
D u gals go back to work during this period?
What kind of medications is given for ur cycle? Oral or injection or both?

Hi ladies. Just scan earlier and finally can see and hear the hb. I am so relieve like hell. One more miles stone has passed. Yukimi all the best on your first scan.

Nervius babe. I am sahm. My cycle is so iui injectibles with puregon and pregnyl for trigger. As clomid got no effect on me.
I think it safe to work during this period.

Jo dont loose hope. Take this 2 months break for your body to get ready again with all the injectibles. If ivf is for you just go for it.

May I know how many so iui you have been through?

Congrats cleo! Wishing u a smooth 9 months ahead! Can't wait for my scan on 15 may.

Nervous babe: like cleo, I'm on injectibles (puregon) with pregnyl injection. There's an option of clomid with injectibles but clomid may thin the lining hence I opt for 100% injectibles. Was at work thru out the cycle except on iui day where I was given mc. Good luck for your cycle! Bb dusts to all!

@Cleo - I've done one natural IUI, first cycle was supposed to be Clomid but Clomid thins my uterine lining so Gynae called off the cycle and did natural IUI the next time round.

This is my first SO-IUI but only 1 good-sized egg developed, I was only planning to do SO-IUI once, before trying for IVF. But right now I am reconsidering IVF due to concerns about the moral implications of selective reduction and disposal of unused embryos.

In the meantime, I will be going to TCM. Hubby and I have been seeing Dr. Tan Kian Sing at Clementi who specialises in male factors, for myself, I am considering trying out Ban Choon Chan (Marine Parade) seeing the high success rate many ladies has experienced with him.

@jo I visited ban choon chan before. Super long queue. Must go early like 7am though it opens at 830am. His medication is brew one. Mr chan is very good at ba Mai. Can even tell which side you are ovulating that cycle. You have to go visit him once your menses starts as his medication will help u ovulate better. I didn't have the discipline to brew medication so switch to Chen Mei er as her medication is powder one.

All the best jo!

Jo, i see for religious person, the moral would be questionable. But if happen with me, i will just go for it out of desperation. Not sure about selective reduction, but i have been told that, usually your RE/fertility doctor will advise to transfer max of 3 embryos so that in the event that the 3 of them survive the implantation, the pregnancy still feasible.

I also read about how they grade the embryos differently. Not all embryos can be frozen
sad.gif
So if they are not transferring, they will be discarded
sad.gif
. The good thing about it is, you can donate your frozen embryos to other who wants to adopt them or you can keep for your next cycle. And also... We may not produce many eggs depends on individuality, how their ovaries reacting to the injectibles. You may want to consult with your RE to get more information.

Whatever path you choose, i hope you have smooth ttc journey.

Nervous babe : yup my dh sperm quality is good. He ate vitamin e and c prior to the procedure too.
When r u planning to do iui?

Nervous babe I'm 32 this yr. yup age is a pretty impt factor. Ivf gives a higher chance of conception compared to iui. The younger you perform ivf the higher success rate. Ivf is pretty affordable now with govt subsidy and medisave deduction. Worth considering. . Wishing you all the best ya in whatever option you choose! Bb dusts to all!

Hi there, new to the forum. Anyone starting IUI this month too? I just got my period, so will be calling my doc tomorrow to arrange to May IUI. This has been a long and exhausting journey already. I am so exhausted even though it's only 1 year 5 mths TTC. Not sure how many more disappointments I can take.
sad.gif

Me - 28 yo (29 next mth)
Husband - 40 yo, really bad morphology
I was diagnosed of submucosal fibroid and had the surgery in Jan, only to find out it was endometrial tissue, not fibroid at all.

@yukimi, sounds like Ban Choon Chan is super popular as with all the other TCMs, known to be specialists with fertility. Can I know if you are referring to go at 7am on a wkday? Or on a Sat? Marine Parade is not far away from my office so I was planning to go on a weekday morning or weekday lunch, hoping it's less crowded, hence a shorter wait. Thanks for the advice to see him right from CD1, I had wanted to wait till my menses are clear before seeing him. It's my CD4 today, seeing that he is not open on Tue, perhaps I will see him on Wed...

@cleo, thanks for the well wishes. I have read quite a lot of IVF experiences and can safely conclude the "grade" of the embryos do not mean the survival rate, have read about triplets from 3 "poor grade" embies, and BFNs from 2 "good-grade" embies... We have decided IVF is not for us. Might rest for a while and go with another SO-IUI, keeping ourselves in fervent prayer and hope for a natural in the meantime...

Great to see such support coming from the community here. Thanks and best of luck to everyone!

Jo: I'm referring to weekend. Never visit him during weekday so not sure. Yup better to go visit him this week when your menses just started. He will start his medication quite soon once your menses stop. Buy more sweets as his medication is quite bitter and is a big bowl to drink. Jia you jo! Keep praying and god will answer your prayer one day!

hi jo78, if u are going to see BCC, can u take half day morning? u reach there ard 8.30, u will b done ard 11am on weekdays. it will b better if yur hubby goes with u and he can bai mai for the both of u. previously he gave me bai foong wan, but i feedbacked to him no effect on me after 2-3 tries, den he stopped le.

if u planning to go on weekends, pls try to b there by 6.30am! haha. my mil was there last weekend to help her sis to queue and she was no.2 in queue.

Kitkat, the thing is hubby is already seeing TCM Dr Tan Kian Sing, not sure if it's a good idea to see both sides. I am still in 2 minds to go BCC because I like Dr Tan's acupuncture and hubby's troops did improve in terms of volume and "energy" after seeing him. Taking half day is very tough... Min's advice was to reach at 7.30am, given that I stay near Bukit Batok, it's a looong drive in peak hour traffic!!
