IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

Laki_gal,

He said could be endometriotic cyst.. But he says not to worry, cysts are very common and they actually just get passed out naturally during our menses.. There is nothing in particular that causes it..

hi min81, dun worry. cysts are common these days. i used to have endo cysts too but got them removed thru laproscopy on this jan. like urs, mine was on the left side of the ovary and eventually spread to right side as well. were urs inside or outside / surface of the ovaries? try to avoid chicken wings and eggs and oh yes, bai feng wan. hope ur cysts can disappear by itself. dun worry.

is anyone here under the care of dr Roland Chieng from Parkway East Hospital, cos his clinic is nearer from my place. any feedback / comments about him? thinking of changing over to see him. need some advise here. thanks in advance.

HI Min81, sorry to hear the news. In a way, it is good to get ample rest for your body and like doctor and the girls say, cyst is very common. Your doctor just wants to make sure that your body is at its best when pursuing IVF.

Don't worry about the delay and having to wait for your next cycle. I am on long protocol (Saralyn too) so by the time we start our jabs after 3 weeks, it's almost time for you to start too!! Take this time to enjoy yourself and treat your body well. Hugs!

laki gal, i m not exactly sure but i heard some of the forum gals were saying bai feng wan contain a substance that will trigger the cyst growing hormones which will cause cysts to grow. how true is it i m not sure. in addition to this, BFW is also causing the endo hormones to progress too. thats what i heard.

energeticsnake: i'm his patient, and i did 1 round of SO-IUI with him. Although it was a failed cycle i'm still very happy with his professionalism and service. His fees is v affordable too. Will go back to him again if there's no news after 3-4 months of trying naturally..

DHM, how are you?! Wave!!!
How are your babies?

Hi gals,
I have only started reading this forum a week ago as i am contemplating to go for IUI with Dr Fong.

We have been married 3 years plus and till now there isnt any good news.

Every month is like a roller coaster, somehow or rather always seems to have pregnancy symptoms yet my menses will come super ontime! there was once it was late for a week and i was so hopeful...

Min81: *hugs hugs * prof did the scan for u? Dun worry too much as it still can remove . As long as we are healthy, we can still try ya . Tcm doc said as long as we stay happy, our body system work well .

Lil: nearly miss ur qn , sorry for late reply.
The Chinese medicine that we are given Is for qi going smoothly to the liver and make us feel happier. Worries will be forgotten .

DHM: Hello! Havnt seen u in a while?? How r u coping so far??? How many weeks already?? Seems like a long time has passed... it is a luxury to be able to watch olympics...so just sit back and relax...

Diamond Snow: Welcome! All of us over here understand what you are going through because we have all been through it adn still going through..so just stay hopeful and just pop by anytime...this is a great forum...for me, at least there's an outlet and pple who understand what i am going through and we can encourage each other...

Yup! This is indeed a good forum. Sometimes when I read e posts I feel very emo...

I heard from my frens that I should stop gg jogging...
They said not good for e womb.. Dunno how true but I don't wanna risk it so I am stopping my routine jog.

Old aunties told me to keep eating bai feng wan they said will help too... Dunno how true

Hi Diamond Snow, welcome
happy.gif

Your post could have been written by anyone of us. Like what the other ladies said, we have been through and are still going through the same thing. This roller coaster of emotion is a hell of a ride. Ha ha! Hang in there. Stay positive and trust that we will all succeed one day!

Dian_tang, thanks for the translation. Ha ha! It's quite funny how it says it makes us happy and forget our worries!
happy.gif
Okay, when I call Dr Zou for next appt, I will ask her when I can start taking this again.

DHM, good to hear that you are doing well. Wish I can watch Olympics all day too. I saw that you joined a new thread for mummies with multiples! So happy for you! You really are a motivation for us! Do drop in once in a while.

Hi ladies!!!!!

Am still on my vacation.. Coming in to take a look and there are so many posts.. Good! Let's keep this thread active. Loving it to read all those posts.

Min81: hugs... Sorry to hear about the cysts. I have a feeling I am having cysts too. The last scan I went, the doc did mention there is a cyst but he did not confirm it. After that, my period came and I felt pain at my sides.. Which is not a good sign.. Anyway, enjoy your this month and work hard. Maybe you don't even need to go for ivf next month. FYI, you may want to cut down on soy products which produces estrogen. Too much estrogen will encourage your cysts to grow bigger and more.

Duffy bear: hope you have some good news for us soon. Fingers crossed tightly for you.

I can't really reply to each and every post.. But everyone, please take good care and be positive and let's jiayou!

I'm 13.5wk now. So far my retching come in the night. Still hving it. Sometime when bathe halfway, gagging. But Nthg comes out.
U be trying natural this cycle right?

Lil Ponyo,
I'm 13.5 wks now. Ya, I joined another thread for multiples.. That thread still not so active yet. Want to know more abt handling of multiples from others.
Now begin to feel that it's not an easy task to manage...
All the best for yr IVF!

Dian tang,
This is the least I can do...

Diamond snow,
Hi to u..
Yr Dr Fong.. Isit Dr Fong Yang?

DHM: For an expectant mummy, u do have quite good memory..hahaha..ya..i am trying natural but i think low chances. cos i only BD twice..hubby too tired fr work and hence no mood too..so now 2wks starting from last Sun. how fast..one week has already passed... but i yet to figure out what to do next mth if i dun suceed this time round..need to start thinking!

Pls take care of urself too... hope that u will feel much better after e first trimester. first trimester seems to be the toughest..but again, everything is worth it. so do continue to update us.

Saralyn: Enjoy ur holidays and jsut relaxed...where r u hvaing holidays?? Dont worry...we wont fly there to look for u..haha

laki gal, i m not saying everyone will have cysts after taking BFW. depends on the body constituent la. some people will be more prone while others will not.

DHM, 13.5wks! Wow, time really flies. Hope that you will feel better and enjoy your pregnancy more now that your 1st trimester is over. Take care!

Dian_Tang, your translation is good and concise! I like that! The chinese write up is long. It still makes me laugh to think that the medicine makes us happy and forget our worries. Sounds like a drug. Ha ha!

Duffy bear, today is Thursday! Any news? How are you feeling?

Saralyn, enjoy the rest of the holiday! We are keeping this thread active while you are away

Hi ladies,

Thank you all for your comforting words and encouragement.. I hope that the cysts go off and i can start ivf next cycle too..

Dian_tang,

Yup prof wong did the scanning.. The minute he put in the probe, he told me he can see 2 cysts.. In order to get a clearer picture, he sent me over to the fetal care centre next door to do a detailed scan.. After that, his advice was not to proceed.. He gave a very systematic advice which is his style.. He will explain current situation, tell u next step to take, and following steps for possible outcomes.. I think you'll feel assured in his hands

Anybody here has done laparoscopy to remove cysts on ovaries before? How is the recovery period like?

Thanks ladies.. I'm enjoying myself..

Min81: how big is your cysts? I went for laparoscopy to remove cysts from both my ovaries last year. Recovery time is 2 weeks physically. Doc will recommend you to rest the ovaries for 3 months.. I only rested 1 month because I got quite bad reaction to the jab to stop my menses and so the ovaries can rest.

Hi Min81, i did laparoscopy few wks ago to remove endo, the recovery is quite fast, i rest 2 days n start work on 3rd day, but it's better if u can rest more. Actually i can walk around on second day. N try drink some LRD tea to nourish ur health.

Thanks laki gal, saralyn and morebbs,

Cos just wanted to know roughly the recovery period so can do some planning if i really need to go.. Seems like it varies for diff pple..

Saralyn,

1 is about 3 cm, the other about 4 cm.. Ya gotta rest for 3 mths yhat's why doc said if do lap, gotta wait 3 mths then can do ivf..

min81, i did lapro earlier this year. removed both cysts in both ovaries and the endo scars on the womb. was given 2.5 week HL to rest at home. if stay in hospital overnite, the next day can be discharged le. then another 2days rest at home should be fine. for the rest of the HL, just avoid the strenous activities and exercises. the length of the HL is dependent of the condition after the ops.

usually doc will advise 3mth rests before trying again. but mine told me to start trying naturally as soon as i feel ok, so i started the following month after the ops.

Sometime really think times pass v fast...is already my 3 yrs of marriage n im still ttc. My fren kids all already grow up n now every1 is starting to kep getting pregnancy while im still struggling. Really dont feel good. Every1 kep telling me to wait n wait, sure got a day God will give my baby to me but when will tat day b? How long more I still have to wait? Every mth always being gg thru' d same old stuff but still no response. Yet fren around me kep getting pregnant so ez n so fast either baby 1st month or 1st yr. Haiz, sorry for being emo here coz really I dont feel gd n need a place to talk to.

hi ladies,

i had just seen my gynae today after doing a couple's checkup and was told that ivf is the way to go..

my doc said i had to go thru lapo to clear the tubes or cysts if any before starting on ivf...

anyone can share the experiecne on lapo? is it scary and painful?

Dear Laki Gal, hugs. This is all part of the highs and lows of ttc. Unfortunately, no one has the answer when that 'one day' is but it is important to stay positive. Being happy and positive is always a good thing and will also help ttc. Try your best not to compare with other people. Our bodies are all different. Just focus on yourself and on other parts of your life with your DH that are blessed and happy. I know it's hard and it's always on our minds every day but it's good to not let this baby thing consume our whole life. Hope you are feeling better today. It's Friday after all!!
happy.gif

Dear Duffy Bear, sorry to hear that. We know how you feel. Hugs for you too. It's probably best to talk to your doctor if you should go straight to IVF. Generally IVF success rate is much higher than IUI and it's always good to start when you are young.

Laki_gal,

Dear friends, i have been a silent reader here for the past 1year. It was a trial n error journey for me and hubby to conceive. We did a full fertility checkup. My hormones was not balanced. Hubby sperm weak and abnormal.

Did 3 cycle of clomid with no success. I end up OHSS with that. Terrible... Seek Dr sadhana from KKH for advise. She suggested me to do HSG. And same time i went to Ban Choon Chan at marine parade for TCM advise and some herbs to brew.

Viola, after 4.5 years of marriage.... I am pregnant naturally!

I heard HSG helps to clear minor blockage. Hubby also took vigorace daily. Hope my story encourage all.

opps... sorry for the double post.

HSG is some test that Dr Sadhana insisted i go through to check if my tube is blocked or not. I went to research and its seems there are certain % of women who managed to get pregnant after this checkup. The doct inserted dye into my tube via vaginal to check.. so for like 20mins.. its kinda of uncomfotable. I experience slight cramps after that for a few hours.

And i managed to strike 1 month after HSG is done!

Vigorace also can be purchased at the KKH med counter. But best to check with the gyane if your hubby is ok to consume or not.

Hope the info helps.

Hello ladies! Good morning, hope all of you had a good weekend!

Dear Choco, congratulations
happy.gif
Thanks for sharing your story and motivate us! Your perseverance paid off! Take care and wish you a smooth 9 months ahead. Yes, my doctor also told us that HSG will help clear our tubes and some people will conceive after that. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

A little history of myself: Im 32 this yrs and have been TTC-ing for more than 5 years but surprising no good news at all. Before that My hubby & i were workacholics and never think too much about having a bb can be so tedious. Had been too many docs n doctor hopping. We are giving outselves 1 last chance and has stop @ KKH seeing doctor Sadhana. Had done all the tests and the recent HSG shows my tube might be blocked or spasms..
sad.gif

Dr suggest me to go IVF but i wanted to try SO-IUI first just in case i cant take the injections and etc...

I really need guidance here.,, is anyone here can share this tough journey?

Gasp, Duffy Bear your period not here yet!? That's VERY promising!! All fingers and toes crossed for you! How come you didn't go for your blood test? That would be most accurate. Take care!

Hi HSNg, welcome to the family. We are all in similar boat here so we understand how you feel. For me, I've been TTC for close to 2 years and I'm turning 38 this year so don't have much time. I've done 3 IUIs. 1st IUI is natural (only with trigger shot) and 2nd and 3rd are SO-IUI (with clomid pills+trigger shot). All failed. Doctor can't tell us what the problem is and diagnose us as unexplained infertility. Doctor explained that even though we pass every medical test, it doesn't mean that nothing is wrong with us but it means that we don't know what is wrong. So the best way for us is IVF because that takes out a lot of guessing because everything up to the point of implantation can be manually controlled. The final part of whether the embryos implant is still up to nature. A group of us here are doing IVF in Aug/Sept and it's our first time. Have you tried seeing TCM too?
