IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

Ann thanks for sharing, I just need to get it out of my system today...hopefully tomorrow will be my usual perky self again.
Thanks Dragon, doctor suggested either upping Clomid or FSH dosage. I'm not keen on doing that. I asked about Femara because I read a lot of positive experiences on the US board I'm on, it seems to work well for "thin PCOS" cases like mine. I'm going to try it next cycle.
I am thinking of giving TCM a try again, but this time with someone who is more experienced with fertility issues and coordinate with my gynae's treatment, does your doc do acupuncture?

Choco: hsg will be a bit cramping but it is still can be tolerate. If u scared of pain, take panadol 1 hour before, that was my gynae suggested

Hi choco,
Maybe you can see gynae or fertility specialist first then decide on iui or ivf based on test results.. Normally if not much issues, they normally advise try iui first..
For the hsg, when i did mine, my previous gynae gave me this tablet to insert vaginally a couple of hrs before the procedure.. Cos i've not given birth before, she was worried my cervix would be too tight and i'll find it painful.. That tablet is to help relax the cervix.. Maybe u can ask your gynae abt it? Don't worry about it, i was also scared before that cos i have low threshold for pain but found it quite manageable

the gynae advised me to go for the lap before proceeding with IUI. we have done 3 times for AIH but no news.. she said i can continue but if my fallopian tubes are blocked, there is no point of proceeding.. i will just be wasting money and time.

i'm not very sure about IUI because i haven't tried yet.
As for AIH, the gynae will use a syringe or catheter and insert the sperms into me.
she changed to a catheter the second time because the syringe is too painful for me. I was trembling all over.
I took clomid and on day 14, i will go for the appointment. She will do the scan and check whether I can do the process on that day.
I will be given an injection to break my follicles, then the process can be started.

I was still very hesitate on the HSG, but i guess better to go ahead. Feel more "brave" now after reading all the updates
My DH has ZERO morphology. With my read up, seems like IUI completely will be useless.. unless i go for IVF/ICSI. Now thinking if i should do 1 IUI and try first before going to IVF

Hi bbbb, ohh sounds like AIH is very much similar to IUI.. Maybe u wanna ask your gynae can go for HSG first? Cos laparascopy is a surgery, more invasive.. Cos i tot normally they'll check with hsg first, if no problem then ok.. But if got blockage then go thru laparascopy to resolve.. HSG cheaper too..

Min81 is right. U shld request for hsg. Cos go op, body will more or less become weaker. Think i went too many op liao. My body is very weak.
U do pap smear before? It's almost like pap smear. Maybe u can check with your doc abt it. If can dont go op, it'll be best.

Hi, I'm a silent reader of dis forum. I have being TTC for more than a year and recently i just went for my first IUI on 4 apr. My hubby was low in sperm count, molitity n morphology. Everything seem bad n it got worsen as compared to last year. I was wondering hw come u all having many injection where I was only given a HCG injection before the day of my IUI.
Somehow I feel my IUI seem to fail this cycle as just on 6 Apr (CD 15), my breast seem to be big and today both my breasts tender. These r always d symptoms I get before my period.
I'm feeling very depressed, kept asking myself y others can get pregnant so easy while it seems to be so hard for me. I went TCM before n even look up on fengshui but it don't seem to work for me. My friends all managed to get pregnant within a month after marriage n everyone around me are either pregnant or already a mummy. This make me just distant myself from them coz I feel very depressed. Feeling mentally tired n kept cry in silence as no one can understand how I feel. Guess only u all able to feel how I feel now.

Dont be depress. Think positive. Things will happen when it should. As long as we dont give up. It will happen. I understand how you feels as I've already tried for 6 yrs without success. U can fall down but u must learn to pick yourself up.

Like to ask u how come u all need to have progestone injection? Coz after my IUI, I was not given any injection or medication. Is it bcoz I'm having natural IUI? I read that natural IUI only have 4% success rate. Wonder itiz better if take some medicine to help with IUI

Choco my hubby morphology is onie 2% when he went for his 1st SA. But eversince den, he has been taking Vigor Ace n tribestan it has gone up to 5%. His volume n motility too increased. Besides dat, he ate kiwi, almonds, exercise regularly n drank plenty of water. Ur DH hv to eat it et least 4 3 months to see e improvments.
Since u r under KKH y they never prescribe any supplements to ur DH? Whos ur gynae btw?

Dragon: I waited for almost 2 hrs before I got that wanna pee feeling. I drank 2 litre of water from 4pm to 5pm but just dun have that pee feeling. My hubby hold his "army" till hand also tired liao. Haha!!
Gynae told hubby that his army is on the low side.. 16 million like that.. average is 20 million.. but he also told hubby that is what IUI is for. ^_^
IUI is smooth.. no feeling. I quite like the chair.. can raise the butt up high. Told hubby we should get one. Haha!!
Tonight must try again and tomorrow morning too. Nurse told me to empty my bladder before BD. After BD, raise my legs and sleep till next day. But how to raise my legs to sleep? Like quite uncomfy position lei.

I had such a horrible day today...couldn't go to work cos really depressed, then boss called me to chase for things and I felt irresponsible...spent the day baking bread and playing piano and now my arms are killing me...

Gal...never heard of megaman. My DH on Vigor Ace n Tribestan. So far there's improvement in his motility, vol n morphology. But u hv to ate it 4 3 mths to c e improvement.
Last night did not manage to do with hubby. By the time he come to bed, I knocked out le.

Dragon, I went to a TCM in Mei Ling street where it was recommended by my friend. Initally I went there is to bu my body coz I feel my body is 'cold' then the chinese physician also prescribe some medicine for my hubby.

If not wrong, today is your dpiui 8? When you plan to test? 2 days later? Oh ya, maybe you want to boil some red dates + long gan + wolfberries to drink? GOt drink chicken essence?

Stay positive! Soreness of the breasts is normal.. I had started having soreness from 3dpIUI.. All the way till i tested positive on 20dpIUI.. Pregnancy symptoms are very much similar to pms symptoms so don't be discouraged, still too warly to tell.. Keep your spirits up!

Dragon, we went to c the TCM for 3 months. However it was quite costly as per visit we need to pay around $100 and per week went for 3 times that why my hubby say to stop and went for IVF. But my doc suggested we try out IUI first before proceed with IVF.
What is dpiui? Not sure about the term. Now I drink the chicken essence will it be too late? I only drink the chicken essence after my IUI.
I counted that 18 Apr will be the last day of my 2WW but the nurse ask me to test on 21 Apr. With my PMS, I guess I already know the results without testing. =(
Need advice from you all. Do u think I shall give IUI one more try or shall I go straight to IVF? Hubby say if this cycle fail, we will rest for a month and then proceed with IVF. But I was thinking shall we give 1 more try for IUI?
BTW I remember some of u were asking about the cost of IVF. Actually I have some info here with me as previously I went for the consultation for IVF and the nurse give me a breakdown for the cost.
- Antral Follicle Count, Day 2 Hormone, Blood test, sperm test, infection screening etc will cost bout $2K (not claimable)
- IVF procedure (Egg collection, embryo transfer, horomone assessment, medication) cost bout $12K (claimable)
- Freezing & storage of embryos bout $1.8K (depend on the no. of embryos)
For the medisave claim, only allow for 3 times ($6000 to $5000 and lastly $4000)

I didn't monitor my temp at all.. I feel it adds a lot of stress, especially when i have to get up at 5.30 for work.. Haha.. But don't think too much about it.. There are some women who do not feel the symptoms at all.. I think it's cos we go through fertility treatments, so we are always very sensitive and worried about the symptoms.. You're not working right? Can occupy your time with reading, watching funny korean dramas, comedies, take you mind off.. Hehe.. No heavy housework though
