Is glass milk bottle better than the plastic BPA-free bottle?

Hi.
I am going to buy milk bottle to get ready for newborn for formula milk feeding. I saw some brands selling glass milk bottle. Is it better to use the glass type compare to the plastic BPA-free type?

Can you advise? Thanks!

They would last longer but there is risk of scratching/internal chipping I feel. Even a small chip of glass that cannot be seen easily can be swallowed... So I rather use plastic bottles...

Thanks for your reply.

What is the possibility of getting the glass internal to be chipped? The bottle is only use for liquid.

Yes, you are right that the glass bottle may be hotter. I saw some brands has glass bottle with silicon sleeves.

My concern is that will I accidently slip the glass bottle and hit on baby... and will my hand be too tired to hold the heavy glass bottle.

Not sure how common it is, but a trainer for antenatal course I took advised us not to get glass bottles based on this. Personally I feel it is better to be safe than sorry.

I think one of the big concerns regarding plastic bottles (even BPA-free ones) is that chemicals might leach into the milk and be consumed by baby. Especially since during sterilization, there is high heat involved that might cause plastic to release chemicals...

My mom said that in her day, there were no plastic bottles, all baby bottles were made of glass.

I'm currently also in the midst of researching glass bottles. Wondering if any mummies here use glass bottles & what is your experience?

I wouldn't use glass bottles coz scare of internal cracks and it should weigh heavier.. Why add on weight to diaper bag?

Babies tend to throw things at a certain stage so it's quite dangerous if they can hold the bottles themselves n throw
