Is a second/repeat c-section easier than the first?

I had my #1 via emergency c-section in Feb 2016. I am now 33 weeks pregnant with #2.
My first c-section was pretty traumatic, in terms of the procedure itself (didn't expect to end up with one, dealing with disappointment etc) and the recovery was tough. It took me a while before I could walk properly again.
Based on my circumstances, I am likely to go for an elective c-section for #2.
For those who had two/repeated c-sections, were they easier than the first for you, especially in terms of the recovery?

My first one was csec with epidural. I got so nervous and ended up with sleeping pills injected for me cos my heartbeat was so fast. I only went down the bed on the third day.

The second one i opted for GA. I feel its better for me, cos i was sleeping throughout. No need to go thru the nervousness. With the second Csec, i went down to walk on the first day. The recovery was much faster and i feel its less painful.
