As a baby grows and you think of making decisions regarding purchasing baby foods from stores there would certainly be doubts that whether the company has been used any preservatives or additives in the product. According to Parents, it is usually the ingredients which are listed on the products only which are available in the product. But only if the product has clearly stated that it is organic then only can you trust that the ingredients used are free from of pesticides or chemicals. Also there are some companies which have been accused of using inorganic ingredients even though they have printed organic. The only way for a parent to be safe is for them to be aware of the products. They have to analyse each and every decision made when purchasing baby food purees or porridges. Cleveland clinic has also stated that the preservatives used in baby foods have a major downside to it, vitamin C as a preservative is ok but not other preservatives. According to Helathy Child Healthy World, there are certain preservatives and additives that should be avoided. The riskiest additives are artificial colors, chemical preservatives (like butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), sodium nitrate, and sodium benzoate), artificial sweeteners, added sugar (high fructose corn syrup), and added salt (in any form). However there are no sacrifices without any decision made and though making home made baby food is the best as there will be no preservatives and you can make sure the fruits or vegetables are really organic but this becomes really difficult in todays world as both parents are working. But there are companies which are really preservatives free and don’t use any added colours or flavours, not even added sugar or salt
