Hello, how was your testdear all,
anyone of your babies failed the hearing tests? My newborn currently at 6 weeks failed both. I am quite sure he can hear but the doctor says that he might have hearing losses.
Any of you have such experiences? Can kindly share your stories?
Did he do the detailed test? My son failed his left ear newborn hearing test 3 times in the hospital and 1 time at Kkh. Scheduled for detailed test in Jan, requires sedation.Mine tested but failed twice. We follow up with the hospital for a year but so far he is fine. 9 years old already. No issues with studies etc.

My LO did his hearing test when he was just born.
He passed his right ear hearing test but failed left side.
Recently, he went back for second hearing test but failed again.
He was referred to KKH for detail check and will be going next week.
I tried to call him on the left side, he did not response.
When I try to talk to him, his attention was very limited and he will start looking elsewhere.
He is currently about 5weeks old.
Any one who has going for detail check, may I know what did they do?
Thanks in advance.
My son is going for the detailed test in March. Could you update me on your son's detailed test? Thanks. Pray hard that our sons hearing is okay.
Hi Ju-Ju-Lia,Hi Wxl,
We have been requested by the nurse who has been helping the doc to do a detailed test on both his ears because the test done at the hospital when he was born was not detailed enough.
How old is ur son currently? For the detailed test, make sure your son is asleep as they will perform a test on his ears inside a very quiet room.
My LO still need to go back for review as he did not have 100% hearing on his left side. Doctor rest assure me that he can hear but not 100%..
Hi Wxl,

My kiddo is mild loss which means he can hear 40db and above. Doctors did not recommend hearing aids.
Hi there,My son is going for the detailed test in March. Could you update me on your son's detailed test? Thanks. Pray hard that our sons hearing is okay.
Hi there,
We went for the detailed hearing test. Our Son had to go through sedation and after that he was placed with tapes with wire on his forehead and sides of his ear.
The result came out was total hearing lost for left side of the ear. I'm still in denial and also blame myself for not taking care during pregnancy.
The specialist told me they don't know the reason why his left ear is not working but he mention that the brainwaves did not send message to his brain.
How are your child doing?
Btw which specialist you have seen?
Our LO sometimes responds to us when we speak to him on the sides.. Sometimes he would just focus on what he is doing.
We went to the ENT children specialist at KKH.
But if your child passed his hearing test when he was born, he should be fine..
How was his eye contact and does he smile and interact with you?
Good luck. Do update on his progress~If U speak to him while facing him, he will smiles and look at you. When he was sleeping yesterday, he startled when the brother opened the door and talked loudly. I see that as the sights and wonders that God is showing me to assure me. However, he doesn't turn his head to any sounds out of his sights. He will focus on whatever he is staring at and behave as if he didn't hear anything. This include loud squeaking sound from those toy chicken, rattles, bell etc. I pray that he can process the sound.
Hi mummies, I just noticed that my 5.5month old doesn't respond to sound and pd agrees and wrote a referral letter to Dr Loh Woei shyang at nuh. But appt was initially only available in oct so I requested for another ENT consultant at pte practice. I'm bring my boy to see Dr Lynne Lim at mt E coming mon. Praying that he can hear. He passed newborn test and all along I thought he can hear. I suddenly observed that he doesn't turn his head to sound out of sight. Tried calling him, using different toys with different sounds but he doesn't turn his head. Yet when I on a video while he is almost falling asleep while drinking, he opens his eyes as if disturbed. Anyone has similar experience to share? I'm really very worried and is praying for God's intervention for him to hear.
Hi, I am in the same situation as you. My son's left ear has severe to profound loss. Did your doctor recommend hearing aids? How old is your boy?Hi there,

Did you went for a detailed hearing test?Hi mummies, thank God my boy passed the tests and he turn his head to sound after much prayers at 24weeks plus.
During the period of waiting, I realised that I can't really find support group in Singapore. I find that support group is very important. May I suggest that a whatsapp or Facebook group be set up for mummies in similar circumstances so that mummies can share your experiences and encourage one another?
