Gynec required for IUI - Terribly confused - Please advise after reading

Hi Folks,

This is my first time in this forum and I am really hoping to get some help.

I am married for the last several years and I am 33 now. For some reasons, both my hubby and I didn't think much about a baby until I hit 30. I consulted Dr. Anupriya Agarwal in NUH since I didn't seem to be conceiving naturally.

The doctor was able to diagnose the problem - that I had a blocked fallopian tube based on the HSG tests. She recommended me to undergo laproscopy (key hole surgery) to remove the tube. I was hesitant, and I decided to go for an IUI to try my luck. The IUI failed. The doctor was also not too positive when she did it.

Since the cost of the surgery was too high for me here in comparison to my home country India, I decided to take it back in my home town. Now, I ve already gone through it and its been a month since.

Now, I want to go in for another IUI. Ideally, may be I should think that Dr. Anu diagnosed my problem correctly and go back to her, but something stops me. She was a bit too abrupt and too rushy during our consultations and never spoke in a way that gave hope. I am also hesitant to go back and tell her that I got the surgery done through a different doctor. I am not sure how she will take it, though it was right from my point of view - I had to think about the cost.

So, I am kind of seeking a doctor who gives me positive energy and hope - I got some names from Gleneagles - Dr LC Foong, Dr Jothi Kumar etc - but they seem too booked (until end of march!) and too expensive when I contacted the hospital.

There's also another doctor Prof Biswas in NUH who seems to have a good name as a positive father like person. I am thinking also if I should consider him, but I am not sure if NUH will question me as to why I want to shift.

As you all can notice, I am terribly confused and feeling low. I want to go to a doctor who helps me become pregnant and whom I can continue to stay with. I am not sure if I am judging Anu wrongly, may be it was backed by the facts about my condition?

Please advise friends! Thanks a lot

Hi Dew..

Hmm if u r uncomfy with ur current gynae u can request for the change...I believe u r paying private rate at NUH..If u r then just request for the change..If they ask u..Just simply say u prefer Prof Biswas...

There is another dr in Bishan..Quite Popular too...Alot of successful patients from his IUI procedure which u may consider..

Dr Henry Cheng.. U can read more info on him here: http://singaporemotherhood.com/foru...eng-the-womens-specialist-centre-bishan.2101/

Address: 502 Bishan Street 11, Singapore 570502 Tel: 6552 7377

I believe his procedure for IUI is less than 1k...

Wish u all the best dear..

I consulted doctor anupriya in mount Elizabeth. I was so trusting that she will help for my infertility. We did 2 rounds iui and unsuccessful. She told in the beginning I have PCOS issue and might need surgery. Then 2 iui done and unsuccessful. Suddenly she told that in private surgery is expensive go to KKH or NUH. I was real upset as I wasted my money and time. Feeling helpless. Please help to suggest gynae in kkh, who can treat my PCOS and help in conceiving.
