Hi jkoh, tks for your encouragement. You hv been very brave to face all these challenges. It is not easy.
You mentioned after your first ep, your doc said your other tube was ok but you got ep on this other tube subsequently. Did the doc explain y.? Wld there be a reason for doc to keep the tubes in the first instance, otherwise for us who hv ep, they wld hv removed both right in the beginning, right?

Has your hcg level dropped.? U need it to drop before menses can resume. I think you can kiv..if there are alot of milly white discharge, it means u r ovulating again which also means your menses shd come quite shortly after. Take care.
Unfortunately no explanation is given. The whole ep experience has taught me to take it easy, really nothing much we can do. Even if you do a test on the tube, and the report came back to say it is unblock still it doesn't 100% guarantee no ep.
Doc will usually keep the tube for patients who still have desire to have children esp when the tube is not too damaged. If you only experience one ep, you can still proceed to try naturally. I have heard of people who succeed naturally after one ep.

Now i am thinking to go to DR Charles Lim clinic for further scans to see if my other tube is really working well. Currently i am on TCM medicine.
I have seen tcm for the past 1 year. Just surrender, the brewing of medicine is too tiring.
Shirlynner, can pm me your feedback on Dr Charles Lim if u go to him. I'm going for my first follow up appt in early Nov. Prob I will also ask on the hsg test to find out more. Think it will be good if we can do the necessary checks on our end.

I went to him this morning. Didn't do any hsg test, anyway he is able to do a X-ray test on the Fallopian tube to see if there is any blockage or not. No need to do hsg test I think. Anyway blocked Fallopian tube will go away by itself de. Our own body able to fight and recover on its on.

How was the x-ray done to check fallopian tubes? Is it painful?
I heard need to inject some liquid into vagina for the x-ray. Not sure how painful it is.

Yup. They will insert something through the vagina and take the X Ray. I don't think it's very painful. I never did it today because I went to kkh for follow up check up, and was told that my other tube was fine and they even show me the picture of my right tube. So I didn't do the X Ray, dr lim just did the scan for me and tell me I have mild PCOS and he gave me the medication to recover, on top of that, I was given a medicine to allow my both ovaries to ovulate.

I heard that hcg has risks too. The xray liquid may damage the tissues inside. Sigh.
It's good that your other tube is fine. I'm wondering if we shd go for IUI or something like that? I heard that IUI can go for eggs released by the ok tube, hence, lesser risk.

Ya. That why I didn't want to take hsg test. IUI have to go through the tube and will have higher risk resulting in ectopic as well. I think ivf should be ok. If not u can visit dr lim to have detailed scan first and he will prescribe u a pill to speed up the ovulation.

I'm also wondering if ivf is good for us because we only hv ectopic once and still hv a good chance of having normal pregnancy (i hope), yet on the other side, as best as possible, we also want to avoid another ectopic. Dilemma..
Anyone going to any tcm? Any recommendation for Thong Chai?

You can try natural than try natural lo. Ok. Did u lost a tube or what ? If not try again, cause there are successful pregnancy after ectopic de .

For tcm, I go to Yishun one because it's near my house. So far not bad.

Both my tubes are still intact. I think my main worry is, would the tube that has ectopic before "fails" again in future, leading to another ectopic as there may be scarring issues. Gynae also told me the possibility of getting ectopic again is 10%. Also, for the other tube which is "ok", is it really ok?? Sigh.
I have the same concern as u. Once u have ectopic before u will be worried that this will happen again.

I have the other tube being removed cause it has been ruptured. I am also afraid of having pregnant again, but comes to think about it, sometimes it's just a matter of luck we have such experience. But must have faith, try again first, don't give up. Ivf also will have risk of having ectopic de, it's all depends on the skill of the Doctor as well.

I have to accept the fact that I have this and move on. Don't think about it first unless it happens again. I must have faith. Meantime u can try visiting tcm to Tiao your body first and let ur emotion recovers first will be better. The rest can think later

Hi ladies, check with u how long your bleeding last after the surgery? And when did your first AF come after the surgery?
After the surgery, I bled for about 9 days. This ended earlier this week on Tues. Now (Sun evening), the bleeding seems to start again and I'm wondering if it is my AF.

I starts to bleed 3 days after my surgery. And it bled about 4-5 days. Did you arrange for cleaning of womb when u had the surgery? Or u are on mtx?

I started to bleed on the 4th day after my surgery then it lasted for about 9 days. It ended on earlier this Tues then now, seems like I'm starting to bleed again.
I opted not to clean the womb because I was advised that if I didn't opt, it's ok too, because the tissues will pass out by itself. I didnt have any mtx at all.

Maybe you should observe the bleeding first for now. Some ladies will encounter bleeding if not u can go back to the doctor and do a scan for u to see if there is any internal bleeding? Menses usually starts 5 weeks after surgery.

Talking about Charles Lim, he's definitely a great fertility doc who solely believes that every woman is more or less PCO / PCOS and he will prescribe to every woman metformin. I went to him in 2012 and yes, I got pregnant for the 1st try under Plan A. Unfortunately, it was EP. For Charles Lim, he's specialised in how to make you pregnant, but not how to take ectopic pregnancy away. It took me 2 jabs of MTX, 2 DCs and finally removal of one tube to get over the whole episode. I regret not going to KKH for a 2nd opinion when I was diagnosed with EP - KKH is better equipped with better equipment. I felt stupid paying a premium price to undergo unnecessary procedures.

I don't know but it controls your sugar level. Diabetic patients eat metformin. Guess it's to control PCO / PCOS?

He's a brilliant doctor, no doubt. But I have doubts on his ethics.

hi Belle, i have an EP and managed to conceive after that. Doctor told me my chances of getting pregnant again after EP was abt 50%, so i did not pin too much hope. But i succesfully concieve with my gal after that. All my pregnancies are really hard. i went to chinese sinseh as well. I have Miscarriages as well in between. I did not give up though the fear was in me. I now have a 8 yr old boy and a 18mths gal. don't give up

hi prayingformiracle, when i know i'm pregnant, i went straight to a gynae to make sure the cell is in the right spot.

About how many weeks from LMP or conception were u at when u first found out positive ? Will it be too early to scan to see if the sac in place?

You can try to scan and see if you can see the sac? Yes, testing on the hcg level can be another way if you can't see the sac.
