Just went for my Oscar ultrasound scan at KKH yesterday, everything looked ok - baby was active, had nasal bone present and thickness of neck were well within limits. However my heart sank when Doc asked to see me, and informed me that the risk for Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) was 1:9.
It was due to the blood test results which shown high HCG levels (2.4 as compared to 1), and low PAPP-A levels (0.3 as compared to 1). This combination suggested a high possibility for down syndrome.
Requested for Harmony test today and just had 2 tubes of blood drawn. Need to wait 10-14 days for the results which is so agonising.
