Hi Tam,
While I wish for my boy to learn to read soon (very much inspired by your kids' learning journeys), I cannot force him to like alphabets and reading as some other kids do, can I? Some kids are faster + more interested in books. I'm just grateful that he's keen on tracing/writing alphabets/numbers and colouring for at least 30 - 60mins a day at the moment. If I push books in his face, it may just kill any tiny interest left. It's ironic that I love books but the kid isn't, isn't it? He does ask me to read but isn't interested in plot. He prefers non-fiction type of books and sometimes staring at the pictures in the newspapers, asking us to explain what's happened (eg. fire/accident).
