(2015/10) Oct 2015 Mummies

OMG!!! Triplets!!!! I can't wait to see them!!!!!!!

Haha.. You know what ? I called up a confinement lady to check her rate for triplets and whether she is available in Sept. Guess how much she quoted me? $5K plus even with a helper. Wow.. This is so expensive!!

So ex! U can get 2 CL instead. I think is better too.

That's why.

Whenever there is more than 1, definitely anything will cost more...

I heard from few CL, they are booked all the way till Oct/Nov. Ppl already started looking for CL. That's fast!

Have you all start to look for CL?

Nope... Cos I am thinking of getting a helper to help my mum... Not sure yet. Too many things to worry about. I am hoping my twins stay stabilized for the next 3 weeks...

I'm getting my CL from agency this time round. I didn't have a good experience with recommendation during my #1. Now I need cl to help me cook for my #1. Some private cl they very calculative. At least agency I just tell them what I need and they deliver. Not happy I will just change.

Which agency are you going to use?

im having twins too! those with multiples, u all will be going for OSCAR? Which week are u all now

Hey, congrats!!

We haven't think of whether going for OSCAR or Harmony test. I read from somewhere that if you having multiples the results may not be accurate. Have you heard of this before?

Oh so your mum helping you to do confinement? My mum is getting older..so do my Mil so I can't bear to let them having to wake up midnight to attend to babies if they cry.

I absolutely feel you. There are lots of things to worry for especially MTB having multiples. Me too. Need to wait for another 3 weeks to pass my 1st trimester. Can't wait for it..

My gynae said harmony is not accurate for twins and suggested oscar and the scan on neck thickness.

Huh... My gynae confirmed Oscar is not accurate for twins. I read that majority said Oscar isn't accurate. Oscar for single babies is only 80% accurate, + NT scan, brings it to 90% accurate. For twins it is lowered.

Harmony is 95-99% accurate and can be done for twins.

Yea.. I also checked that Oscar is not that accurate but I am in a dilemma since that's what my gynae recommended. I also read that harmony I not accurate for multiples. So confused now. U gg for harmony ?

I probably will check with gynae again during my next check. Haven't quite decided, but amnio I feel risky for me since I had mc before... So maybe just live with harmony test results. Anyway I doubt we will do anything even if the results are poor, it's more of a mental prep for us if anything is not good...

I hv been feeling especially thirsty once I gt pregnant (even before I found out) Been drinkin water whole day everyday. Wonder if this is normal. I love chocos a lot. Nv reli cut down on my chocos intakes. Abit worried cos I heard abt Tt preg gets diabetes easily. =|

I've been taking the folic acid that I bought from guardian pharmacy 5mg type. Gyne prescribed florxine for me which is essentially folic acid + vit B6. She said it is good to help ease nausea and vomitting too, besides that is has added vitamin B6 inside. Anybody also taking this? :)

Yes I do feel thirsty all the time...
I don't really like sweet stuff and it's still the same now...
But love spicy stuff!

When I was TTC , gyne also prescribed 5mg to me . I think 400mcg is enough:) it is water soluble , so the excess is passed out in our urine. So it is Okie. That is what I read:) those who have history of spina bifida in family will need to take higher dose . So far this is what I read :)

I have gestational diabetes when I have my #1. So expected this time will have it too. My gynae told me that he will let me take the test earlier this time. I did ask him if I need to watch what I eat now, he said no need at the moment. I do feel thirsty esp at night. Just control what u eat and baby n U will be fine.

Sorry been really busy with work recently.

I'll be at Smart Kids Asia fair at Singapore Expo Hall 5 today till 4pm... Ha ha...

My wife had bit of spotting and went to KK O & G clinic but gynae say nothing to worry. Just monitor.

I asked the nurse the same qn too. The nurse at Dr Benjamin Tham's clinic said no need to retake. It's ok not to take for 1 day.

Did my first scan yesterday at 8 weeks. Gynae found 3 fibroids in the womb but baby is healthy for now. Anyone has fibroid problem? Any advice?

I think it depends on the size and location of your fibroid. Mine is really huge but it is on top of the uterus so gynae says it should be fine but I have spotting issues so it could be a contributing factor.
I think pregnancy with fibroid would need more monitoring since it may grow along the pregnancy, a risk of pre-term too. Another concern is of degeneration (when the fibroid dies) along the pregnancy so there would be a lot of pain but my gynae says can take painkiller if unbearable. Fibroids ain't supposed to harm the baby as it is benign so trust your gynae and stay positive as a lot of mothers do give birth when they have fibroids. I accepted the fact that I have 2 growing in the next few months - a baby and a fibroid. Most important is for baby to be fine and healthy.
