I m seeing random MO at KKH Sub de lo...would like to go for private suite maybe or outside FEMALE Gynae...all necessary tests, scans performed so far so good =)

Hi, I'm EDD Mar 1st time new MTB. Anyone can share with me if you had done 1st trimester down syndrome test at KKH?
It cost $321, which I found quite exp. Any mum do this test in other hospital? Hope to share with me. Thanks!

Hi vivalicious, I delivered twice at Mt A single suite. Hubby stayed over. Think almost $4K for 3D 2N including gynae fees. Hubby top-up $80 per day for food. Overall very good.

Hello mummies,
my EDD for #2 is 1-Feb. so er...not sure at the end will be Feb/Jan.
Gynae : LN Sim @ TMC

orangebeauty : my oscar test + my 20 week fetal scan (paid in advance) cost 480.

vivalicious : I heard recent years MountA is better in terms of hospital. I decided to stick to TMC coz I go by gynae and it is more convinient in case i have to go straight from office to deliver.

Have a FB group? How to get added?

Hi, I'm a July mummy currently doing my confinement..

If there is anyone looking for confinement nanny. I would like to recommend my CL, Aunty Li Xiang.

She's v supportive of breast feeding and is able to take care of my bb boy without me worrying. And she's able to whip up any dish that I crave for like chicken rice, chicken chop(in accordance to this confinement period)

Overall, as mother who had just delivered weeks ago, she really makes this confinement period an enjoyable one.

Shes all booked for this year, so if any 2014 mummies is interested, u may text/what's app me at 94897443 for her contact.

I'm not doing this for any financial gains, u may wan to interview her like what I did previously.
(P/s: I booked her at week 9 of my pregnancy:X)

most tips provided were, eat moderately, not excessive, have those vital vitamins (folic acid, calcium, etc) intake sufficient for BB n Mummy...

I think most of u HOPe for is a SMOOTH, safe, happy pregnancy and BB will be healthy, happy and well... hee...Let's b happy, eat moderate...eh i also hear we must avoid pineapples, bittergourd (my fave!! w stir fry egg, damn), caffeine, alcohol... overdose in grapes/orange as these fruits will make BB having more 'phelgm' in future...

i m keen to join the talk too but it happens on a weekday working hours timing, doubt i could make it... =(

MS is killing me....i can literally burp all day long and vomit at night....
and i crave for cold drinks and food which i dont in the past....
and i realised my pee have a different foul smell and was wondering if its the folid acid and calcium pills that causes this....does any of you have the same prob??

Yah lor we all mostly caught at the moment when they say pay, we pay...haha....all for a good course, all for a healthy baby ya...so like you say, nvmd, no choice sometimes. :)

Mine too....I burp like mad it's so embarrassing and cannot control it. At bedtime, I always feel more nauseus although haven't actually vomit but the feeling is still eeky. I do have a funny smell in the pee sometimes too, a bit like medication kind of smell, could be the pills? My gynae say to take the calcium pills at night which is really hard for me so I skip every other day as everytime I take it and then I burp, I can taste the calcium and it makes me even more sick....so I skip! :-( Told hubby I really cannot stomach it.

btw, anyone attending antenatal classes and any recommendations where is good? and is it really useful to attend these classes? or we can just read on book, internet etc?
I am 1st time mummy, so everything I don't know ! excited but kinda worried also cos seems like overwhelming stuffs to learn and do......

My gynae is Women Specialist Centre if I'm not wrong. Her clinic is at Hougang and Gleneagles and she delivers at Glene and Mt A. I will be choosing Mt A for sure cos Glene is too ex.. Here's her website: http://www.drcathrynchan.com/
She's not v talkative and each checkup is quite fast though waiting time can be long sometimes. She's at Gleneagles in the mornings and Hougang in afternoon. Opens from 9-5 only. Sats I am not too sure of her schedule cos all my appts are on Mon morning at Gleneagles. One thing to note for Hougang is that they only accept cash so that's one downside. Which is also why I prefer her other clinic cos I can pay by card.

So far I gained 2.5kg at 12w3d.

Just went for my NT scan and blood test today. Waiting to see next Monday for the full results. Crossing fingers.

I also burp weird smells. I think its the calcium or DHA pills I am taking. Lucky I didn't feel sick so I just take them everyday though it's not a nice feeling.

I attended Wong boi boi's class for my first child. I would say its gd to attend for first time mummies but I won't attend it again. Till now I dunno how to swaddle bb properly. My hubby is better. But of Cos he learnt the basics in that class! They teach about breast feeding and breathing techniques during labour. Which of cos I can't apply cos pain like seow. Shout for epidural better. Lol.

just to check. does the tummy bump shows at the end of 1st trim (3 mths)? my wife has a little bump which is quite obvious as i read from sites that normally tummy only get bigger ard 4+ mths to 5 mth.

Jacquise, still feeling tired even though I am coming to the end of 13th week. Any idea when can we shop for baby and maternity clothes in bangkok?

yizhen, you can try finding at those neighborhood shops like beauty language and shops like that. not sure where you stay so can't give you an exact shop name.

jacquise, im at 12 weeks 4 days now and day time not so tired already. but at night still feels sleepy by 9 plus. though when I go to bed, I can't sleep.

rtan, I am also showing a little when I sit down but to ppl who don't know, it can be misleading cos it looks just like a fat bump.

cheeryz, guess you can shop anytime you want right? but I think for baby clothes, it's good to buy online in US. Gap, Carter's and Osh Kosh is very very cheap! I saw like 1 pc jumper for newborns cost 7 pcs for $15 or so.. for maternity clothes, at the moment I buy dresses from gmarket cos it's cheap and versatile (cost me about $15-$20 for a dress which can fit me till full term I hope). and for weekends, I wear the 3/4 loose fit pants with elastic waist ($10 from those neighborhood shops)
went to marina sq's Maternity Exchange where you can rent clothes for 4 weeks. It cost about $60 for rental.. not even purchase.. I think it's too ex and not worth it. perhaps when really very big and normal dresses can't fit, can buy a few ba.

I still feel v tired too. N if I move my mouse from far left to far right too quickly I feel abit giddy. But def no nausea now thank god.

Yi zhen , I saw online. Can't rem the price. I juz bought from taka ytd now they give free tube of firming cream but price remains at $78.

Ya I agreed tat Wong boi boi class from tmc is recomended for 1st x mum. But I din attend cos i hv cl n tmc has a intro class the 2nd day aft ur child is born. hubby attended tat while i zzz on bed lol. i learnt from cl on how to swaddle, bath, etc. my fren attended n shared the notes with me. But dunno wher izzit now... else I can scan n share on fb.

Just out of curiosity...why dont your wives join us themselves? They would relate better to what us mtbs are facing and we can provide more 'personal' sharings.

hi morning all mtbs,

went for my oscar scan yesterday but sad to know that the result was at a high risk. After dicussion with hubby we had opt and schedule for the amino test in early sept whereby i will be ard 16wks. I'm really praying hard that the my baby will be born healthy.
The test will have 1/300 chance of MC and after extract the amino fluid will have to send to lab for test and i will take about 2 weeks to know the result.
I knew there's something not right when the sonographer ask if this is my 1st bb, when i ans no, then she ask if my #1 is healthy. And at the end of the scan she comment everything is ok except that the fluid behide the neck thickness is abit thick. When she said that i knew it is not right as this measure the result for bb with DS. Then we will send for counselling, while the counsellor tell us more in detail and the procedure of the process. she said this oscar scan is only telling a ratio of risk and which i just nice fall within the high risk 1:123 where the cut off is 1:300. So there will be option for us to choose eg amino test where this result will give a confirm ans of YES or NO....

wanted to go for a 2nd opinion but when call the clinic, was told that i must have doctor letter as they don't take walk in customer.

As for now i can only pray for the best and leave it to god as thing are really not within my control but of cos deep in my heart was crying bitterly but i still have put up a strong self so that my family will not worry for me.
