Hi Bbluck, soya bean milk should be ok but best to take the one with omega sold at supermarkets. Was advised to avoid soya bean curd as that has lots of preservatives.

I'm at week 36 this week (tomorrow) and I'm exhausted and achy daily. In bed from 9pm to 12noon ( interrupted sleep with toilet trips). Even my knees ache now - prob from weight of babies - and I am starting to waddle/shuffle. Literally counting down to when I can get my body and energy back. 10 days left to T day!

Hi jasmine, yup I experienced like what u mentioned , suddenly disappear the symptom 1-2 days n I felt worry then it came back... I asked my fren she said its like that, on & off...
Actually prefer have symptoms all the time even suffer but at least less worry...
Hi min81, the first scan (6 weeks) after bfp is thru vaginal scan ? When can we end all the vagina inserts ? Btw, I realized the level of pain of the support jab depend on the mood of the nurse, when she in good mood I feel less pain, when she talk less n less smile then my jab very pain( coz I always same nurse)! Haha....

Mummies with confinement ladies, may I ask what is the standard practice regarding ang pows? Do we give one when they arrive and one when they leave? Or just one when they leave? Also what is the market rate for ang pows? I know there is no right or wrong but I just don't want to do something super wrong and offend the CL. Thank you!
Oh one more question, normally how much $ do you put aside for grocery shopping by the CL every month? I just need to know how much cash to prepare as going to ATM is not convenient after delivery. Thank you!!

Lil- it is one red packet when they arrive and one when they leave.
Grocery shopping- confinemt food is like our usual meals, prob more ginger. So amt to spend is similar.

Yup the doc used vaginal scan till abt 8 wks plus, subsequently is abdominal scan.. The inserts will last for some time.. I'm having an appt this thur at 13 wks plus and doc says most prob i'll be able to stop my inserts and jabs.. But your inserts will decrease with every visit, estrofem will be the first to stop.. Currently i'm on 2 utrogestan tabs and crinone gel.. I'm more or less used to the jabs.. haha.. Yours is it done by the middle aged indian nurse? She's pretty nice.. Had it done by diff nurses though mostly it's by her and so far it's all right.. I'm actually dealing with my nausea and urge to puke so i'm quite distracted during the jabs.. haha.. Hang in there! All this will be worth it

I am from KKIVF centre and I am only given Utrogestan to be taken twice a day. To make it worse, I am having itchy rashes from progesterone med. :/

Hi I checked with 2 agents on the red packets when searching for CL earlier. 1 told me market is $30 on arrival n $70 at the end. Another agent told me $20 at arrival n min $50 at departure depending on performance. Hope this helps!

Thanks! Yup i've signed up for the antenatal class, will start on 1 june.. My morning sickness started at 5 wks.. Erm, it's actually gotten a lot worse these couple of wks.. So far, i haven't found anything that works for me, i just kinda accept it.. I just prepare lotsa plastic bags, hacks sweets and dried fruits when i go out.. Hmm some remedies i've heard are ginger tea, almonds, those square crackers, taking frequent small meals.. You can give those a try? If you find it hard to stomach plain water, maybe can take fruit juice or ribena?
Hang in there k, when you go for your scans, you'll forget about ms.. Just went for my Oscar scan earlier, bb was so active.. Then we had a pleasant surprise when the sonographer switched to 3D mode, bb immediately covered face with both hands like playing peek-a-boo! When you see bb like that, it just melts your heart and you forget all the discomfort
Just take it one step at a time, at this point, just take anything you crave for and can stomach.. Jia you! Update us on your scan tmr

I have been eating lot of junks for lately. Eating pizza, sushi, steamboat n steak before I go into my confinement. Tehan for so long. let go myself eat all i want before i go into labour n ooo my coconut drinks. Hahaha.

It is more than 7 days after my delivery. My breast milk got increase but now the most only 40 ml from both breasts. But I will keep on trying ! Maybe I didn't try harder .

Hi Min81, pat pat I feel u. My MS last throughout but eased up slightly in the 2nd tri when I got some energy back (vomiting never end tho even now at wk 36). Always carry lots of plastic bags n tissues if u go out. There are at least 3 types of anti nausea pills u can try - the most exp one is $10 per pill known as Zofran or its generic version. Didn't work for me so I didn't take it after a month. Oh, shopping in the second tri (wk 18) helped me forget the discomfort - don't forget the baby fair coming up on 30 May at expo! If u get tired/feel sick, coffee bean is nearby for you to take a rest while your hubby shops!

Hi min, I'm in NUH now, prof did scan for me & we see the " black dot " in the correct position but the machine in prof room can't see the heartbeat so got to go fetal center to scan, then go back see prof again. Last time u also the same? I still have to wait about 1 hour as dr in the fetal center not around!?!? Then the nurse not allow me to jab first while waiting as she said got to see prof first....

Been rather busy at work clearing everything and doing my handover. My last day is next Thursday. Can't wait! 8 days of work left and counting! Woo hoo!!!
Babysmurf and Mofmm, I also start to eat and drink whatever I feel like. Lately, it is bubble tea. Ha ha! Oh, I read that constant bowel movement is a sign of body preparing for labour! Jia you!
And speaking of jia you, Girl Girl, it is so exciting that you are next!! So so excited for you! You will finally get to see your active little princess! You are so prepared in EVERYTHING from baby preparations, shopping and even your body is prepared because your baby is engaged and ready so soon. Ha ha! Keep us posted and have a safe and smooth delivery!
Lavender, don't worry about using your handphone. Throughout this pregnancy, I've played so much Candy Crush on my iphone and ipad so much! Doctor says it's fine. I just try not to rest my ipad on my tummy

I can remember the joy you describe about seeing baby during the scan. I almost teared up when I saw my baby during the oscar scan too! Hee hee.
Mofmm, hopefully your maid situation will be sorted out soon. I can understand how nerve wrecking it is to have something unconfirmed when our due date is so near. Yes, I finally got in touched with my CL. She found a stand in for me for 2 weeks. Phew! Don't know if she is good but right now I will take anyone. Ha ha! Surprisingly, my energy level is still okay so I still try to brisk walk daily and do my yoga twice a week though I've cut down on the intensity. My tummy is HUGE!! Thank goodness I've delivering early. Can't imagine if I carry this baby to full term of 40 weeks!

Not sure if i can still continue to just have some nibbles of bread and biscuits everyday.. Will consult doc when i see him this thur.. How's taking care of bb? Do you have a CL or doing it on your own?

Bb: your spot spot should be clearing out. But still be careful. Bedrest raise up ur legs even when sitting down. Please have ur support medication ard the same time. this will help to stablized ur pregnacy hormone. Do let ur Dr know.

Hi min, I see my bb heartbeat finally at fetal care center
today I'm 6 weeks 3 days n edd 4 jan 2014. I hope can be few days earlier to be still year 2013!
My next visit is 3 weeks later , So by the time the scan still in fetal care center? When we have our own gynae still go fetal care center to scan ? Prof have reduce a bit of my vaginal insert as u mentioned earlier .

Ha ha! Oh, one feedback about the stokke high chair, if you decide to get it. My sister-in-law has one and she & her DH as well as us, always trip on the legs of the chair when we walk behind it. The design looks good but not user friendly because we keep tripping. Ironically, it is called the Tripp Trapp! Ha ha! Ya, if baby girl, so many nice things to buy!!!

Next visit will be at Prof's office, by then 9 wks should see quite clearly already, no need to go FCC.. When you switch to another gynae, also same thing, either in doc's office or the scan room inside women's clinic.. Only certain scans, they'll make appt for you to go FCC..

If keep having discharge, maybe better call up your doc to check.. Try not to walk around too much in the meantime..

Wah cannot everything branded, shiong! Haha.. Thanks for the review on the high chair.. We're actually thinking of those high chair with rollers, easier to move around.. But i guess that comes much later, after bb is born.. hehe..
