Reikibaby- I like their shower wash very much. Am using the peppermint one. Waiting for upcoming shipmt which will hv the lavender wash and shampoo. They smell so good.

Hi Lil Ponyo, I haven't arranged for confinement lady etc. I'll get the domestic helper in April to start at the beginning of May but I think we really need to get cracking on the confinement lady bit earlier because there is a limited pool of good confinement ladies.
Shopping wise, I've bought some baby stuff (rocker, chairs and clothes) that are on sale (yr end sales) as I'm afraid I'll be too big and knackered by the third tri to do anything much.
I fully agree with you that a handbag (unless it is a Birkins or at the least a Chanel classic) won't cut it at all. 1 of my friends gave his wife a rolex w diamonds as a push pressie in her 8th month. He set the standard pretty high. I am thinking of either diamonds or gold from Poh Heng since this will be my first and last (hopefully).
Hi Babysmurf, how coincidental. This morning, I just emailed my prudential adviser to ask her to prepare the documentation for the maternity cum baby insurance PruFirstGift. You can find the details on the Prudential website. We need to be at least 18 weeks to buy this policy so it is good to start with the discussions and documentation earlier I guess. I'm really terrified of not having sufficient coverage, as in the case where I was hospitalized 11 days for OHSS after ET.

Hmm my agent did a presentation of pru first gift for me some mths back.. I always thought any preggy woman is eligible until i saw some discussion on this in the forum.. Checked again with my agent, who double checked with the co. and was told not eligible if conceive with ivf.. You may wanna check with ur agent..

went batam for a short break. Went for foot massage too. My feet get swollen almost everyday.

Znatasha Ya difficult for me to fall asleep again aft waking up. Guess our body r preparing for motherhood.
It's better to sleep on left side. But can also sleep on right side as long u r comfortable.

Today went shopping and bought sleepdress and pyjamas..with buttons in front. Wanted get the avent storage containers. Any idea how much disc will philip sale have for this item? Cos robinson having 20% disc for avent prdts.

I am also looking for insurance to buy for baby when he's born. Please share info if you have any. A lot of insurance companies don't cover IVF maternity. I have the PruSmartLady which supposedly cover maternity risk but my agent told me IVF is not entitled.
I think the only company that covers IVF maternity is Great Eastern which is the one we bought from the hospital.
Anyway, for those who have gotten your baby cot, can share some info please? I went to Isetan sale and Bon Bebe is $399, inclusive of the mattress, 5-pc beddings and diaper organizer. Ok?

Koirc, I just bought my cot from baby kingdom. Got it at $289 including ibreathe mattress but excluding bedding set.

Not posted for a long time but been reading on and off.
I found out about California Baby products from this thread and was checking them out online, when I came across a few reviews saying that the formulation has changed and can be a bit harsh on baby's skin - here is one of them. Just to share. In the end decided to order Earth Mama products instead.

Hope for donating of cord blood, my gynae dr loh will put mum and child safety first. So he won't do it for csection. I asked the lady n she said depends on gynae. As for private cord bank, I asked her too and she said its because had paid the money so it's a obligation to store it. Hmmmm!

Sade - I haven decided yet if to bank privately.
Hope - dr loh said the same thing. He said no matter what he will put mother and child as first priority first. Saving of cord blood secondary. Said before that it"s crazy that cord life keeps telling him to focus on collecting the cord first.
I haven check with cordlife what happens if the cord blood is not collected and if they will refund us the full amt.

Luv, is it? Hee coz I Thot only use it for swaddling, act as a pillow or blanket so don't need so many haha.
Sade and Whiteclover, I see will ask dr Loh in my next visit. Whiteclover, you don't pay anything till you deliver the baby. But Im not sure if there is a penalty amount to pay or not... I better check my contract haha.

Hope, think even for swaddling and as pillow, will also change it daily. Is waterloo st there a nice pl to buy all the sleepwear for bb too?
For bb towel, can we use microfibre towel or those bamboo fibre towel?

Reikibaby, Yah will change daily so will wash. Coz I intend to wash Bb towel everyday so should be washing clothes frequently. Hmm the place is great for the price, quality is ok but quantity is a lot I feel. It comes in pack of 6. Like 6 tops in a pack, 6 bottoms in a pack etc. so really depends if you need so many? Won't say the designs are super pretty or fanciful.... But to me wear at home is ok Hee.

Hope - personally, I think can skip. Dr(PD) just goes thru some scenarios that baby may face (eg cone shape head when vacuum is used etc etc) and tcm dr goes thru quickly some basic herbs dispels some myths abt confinement.
The most impt lesson I feel is the handson one where u learn to bathe and carry baby.

Imel, congrats on your BFP! Try to rest at home if possible if you have bad MS. Eat light but frequent meals. Trial and error to see what you can keep down. Remember to keep yourself hydrated no matter how bad plain water may taste. Find alternatives that you like. Jiayou! Is this your #2?

Whiteclover, thanks for the advice! My hubby thinking of skipping it haha. Yah I got the vouchers when I signed up. Just read the contract, seems like if the doc decides its dangerous to get the cord blood and no cord blood is collected, then contract will be terminated and any payment made will be refundable. But if you want to sign up do double check with the sales person. Of coz I'm hopping bb guai guai everything is smooth coz I really hope I can go for natural delivery.
