BabyS, tks for your advice!

I tried to force myself to drink water but it doesn't seem to agree with my taste buds... I prefer sweet drinks but am afraid of diabetes! So, my liquid intake is quite low now as compared to the past...

Bubbly, what I took when I couldn't take plain water was Ribena, but I'm scared of diabetes too so I made it very very diluted. To the extent that it tasted more sour than sweet. Maybe you can try that. At least it takes away the bland taste of water and won't be too sweet.

Anyways my appetite comes and goes. I'm having curry fish head for dinner now!! :p

But just in case, if you drink too much Ribena everyday, the purple color will cause your stools to turn greenish!! Lol but nothing serious. Just weird when it happened to me initially.

Bubbly, i have got headache these few days too.. i rarely get headache, i think its hormone related. i also dislike the taste of water! sigh! prefer drinks like milo, horlicks, ribena, ..

My appetite still comes and goes too, but seems like better... :X

Finally the wk for my first appt has come..i can't wait, hopefully will be a happy day for me after that

Hi all! I've been feeling bloated and nauseated all day long. The uneasy feeling puts me in a grumpy mood all the time. I also can't really drink water. Have been sucking on sweets the past few hours. Seems to help.

I bought all my CNY clothes already... All from ASOS maternity. I'm also starting to wear my maternity clothes! It looks baggy but still can wear cos the bloatedness is giving me a big tummy... I think I look 4 mths pregnant.

Haha princessgx, I also bought from asos maternity... They're having sale now so prices are good! Waiting for shipment to arrive by the 25th. Hope the size fits! I can't really wear my pants / skirts now..tummy will feel uncomfortable so I try to go for loose dresses or empire cut too. And yes the bloatedness makes my tummy look big at times too!

Am up for my midnite hot drink...:p...at this rate going to be panda Liao.. Easy to sleep but also easy to wake.

How to buy ASOS maternity wear? Online online or there's a physical shop?

Bbreeze, it's online shop. Ship free to sg. And yes I sleep easily but can't sleep long hours. Always wake up in the middle after 4-5 hours.

Hi mummies my hubby n i decided not to go mount a because there is an increase in price (abt $400). We are heading mount e as my gynae is in mount e. any review of mount e? Anyone here also heading mount e for delivery?

Hi mummies, thanks for sharing! Am glad to know I am not the only one who is having headaches and disliking water! Read from books that this will past by the end of trimester 1. Let's jia you!!

Amanda, I checked ASOS but I don't see any sales...
sad.gif

Stella, I will be delivering in Mt E too as my gynae only delivers there. The nurses told us to prepare about $7k. Hope this helps!

Hi mummies,
I have a question... Does anyone out here experienced the sudden disappearance of nausea? Does this call for any concern? My nausea suddenly disappeared...

Hi mummies
i got a bad weekend . remember i said there is a drop in my BP and have headache?
who know. yeaterday morning i sudden bleed like menses...i am so scare and shock. I never encounter this before. Doc ask me to go down to hospital immediately.while waiting for my gynea, the nurse took my BP and said its very high, and said the blood was too much etc etc. I am so scare. mental prepare to admit hospital.
but strange or rather said I am blessed. My gynae said the baby is prefectly fine. no sign of bleeding at all...he also didn't see my bleed and confirm I am fine and can discharge.I was so so happy. now resting at home.

Bubbles: what are the food that caused headache?

Hi ladies
happy.gif
I am in my 10 weeks today and lad to see many mummies

Diorly : as long as the cheese are not soft cheeses it's ok
happy.gif
and ham is ok if it's fully cooked, but if you having Hawaiian, don't take the pineapple okie
happy.gif

Anna : glad things turn out fine for you!
happy.gif

Bubbly : how far are you now? I don't really have MS now but just a lot of gassy feeling.
happy.gif
should be okie!
happy.gif

It's ok! Some ppl don't have MS also have beautiful bb
happy.gif
some ppl will have nausea then stop n then come back for a few days
happy.gif
eat while you can!
happy.gif

bubbly: don't worry~ it's not true that everyone must feel nauseous in 1st trimester... i don't really have MS too, only felt nauseous for a few days around week 5 - it came suddenly and it went off suddenly~ my sis-in-law didn't have MS at all for both her pregnancies.

anna: do take care! rest well for now~

diorly: i read that ham can eat so long as it is cooked~

Thanks Ellen! I read some online articles and forums that made me super uneasy and worried but I feel less worried now after reading all the responses!
happy.gif

anna: take care and have more bed rest while you can!

bubbly: i only vomitted very badly for a day in my 5th week and never vomitted anymore subsequently. i didnt get much nausea too. my pregnancy fatigue, which was very bad in my 5th to early 6th week, somewhat disappeared somewhere along my 6th week and i felt worried too although i still have bloatedness. but my mind was set to ease when i visited gynae on Sat and heard baby's heartbeats.
happy.gif
so don't worry too much! sometimes it's just the body adjusting i guess?

i'm starting on my 7th week now and feeling quite normal except for bloatedness after meals. sometimes i have loss of appetite too, like i wanted to eat a certain thing but when its in front of me and i take a bite, my tastebuds / tummy just dont agree and i can't stomach that food. its strange and i seem to have lost control over what i want to eat or not. haha.

I read somewhere tat peak of MS is btw wk 6-8 then will gradually subside, but some mums have it thru 2nd tri. Some mums no MS at all. My nausea is gone. Cross fingers it doesn't come back!

Regarding maternity wear, I've seen nice ones on qoo10 but duno quality ok or not. For my 1st preg, I bgt normal clothings with loose cutting, stretchable empire cut dresses, tube top dresses. Wore normal but bigger sized leggings but below tummy coz felt uncomfy with waistband around my tummy. My SIL used jeans waistband extension until her tummy too big for it.

Amanda: it's normal to have cravings then dun feel like eating it when it's in front of u! Tats wat happened during #1 time. My hb end up finish all my cravings. This round I dun have cravings or appetite even tho stomach growling. Luckily it's better now n I can eat more but still have to watch my portion otherwise will feel bloated.

Joyful: can see heartbeat means stable for now. But I'm worried at every visit whether still got heartbeat or not. Coz I've heard of cases heartbeat gone at wk 20. Very sad. It's 37-40wks of worry till bb safely in our hands.

Ellen: you wouldn't want to know. I freaked out after reading it.
sad.gif
Shall save you from the scare.

Amanda: Thanks for sharing! Yup, do hope and pray that all is fine and that the body is adjusting!

On Maternity Wear, I bought some from qoo10 but the quality is a bit disappointing so I think it is better to buy from maternity shops. I know that Spring maternity has discounts going at 20% to 70%.

usaginoko/Amanda: when i saw gynae at 8 weeks, she said strong heartbeat = 98% ~ anyway strong heartbeat means bb is doing well~
happy.gif

Bubbly/Amanda: i think we really need to read online materials with discernment.... :/

on maternity wear, i really have headache on how to choose pants... no experience at all and dunno what is going to be more comfortable/suitable~

Haha Ellen I know what you mean about the pants. That's why I haven't bought any as yet! Maybe you go and try some at the physical maternity shops then at least you will have a sense. I'm wearing drawstring pants / yoga pants which are more loose during weekends now, if not then leggings and a top. Haha.

Usaginoko: thanks for the reassurance ! I was feeling quite bad for wasting food or stuffing my Hb w food I decided that I didn't like after all. :p

Any of you going for Oscar Scan soon? Or has already done Oscar Scan? My Oscan Scan would be on 21 Jan. Would like to see what would be expected. I heard that there will be blood test and scanning. It will take 20 to 45mins....there is a section whereby they will on the light?? Then you can see baby red & blue vains....not sure any of you done that?

I'm doing Oscar on 291/. During #1, didn't have the red/blue veins scan then coz only measure neck thickness. Took abt 20mins. The vein scan was during wk20 detailed scan.

I have my OSCAR scan scheduled for 14 Feb, which is towards the end of my 11th week. not sure what to expect too. will be visiting my gynae at his clinic first and then going to TMC for the scan and blood test.

I dun rmbr can see that clearly. Baby's limbs, the flashing white spot which is her heart, eyes n spine? Prob coz purpose was neck thickness, gynae also never go into details of organs till wk20. It's like normal scan but magnified at head/neck area.

hi all! first time mother to be here. going to KKH to meet Dr John Tee for the first time tmr. don't know what to expect
sad.gif

from my own calculation, my edd should be late aug! after my first consultation, i shld be able to know a more accurate edd right?

wlilian: Im doing my OSCAR on 21/1 too. 9am at TMC. Frankly speaking, I cannot really remember what they did exactly for my #1. Haha. All I know is that they would do a scan and a blood test. For my #1, my husband had to do a blood test too, but Im not too sure whats that for though. So, I did a search on the internet. This is what i got from BabyCenter.

Nuchal translucency is a collection of fluid under the skin at the back of a baby's neck. It can be measured using ultrasound when your baby is between 11 and 13 weeks and 6 days old. All babies have some fluid, but many babies with Down's syndrome have an increased amount.
The NT scan can't tell for certain whether your baby is affected. However, it can help you decide whether or not to have a diagnostic test.

The blood test measures:
•free beta- hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin)
•PAPP-A (pregnancy associated plasma protein A)
A woman who is carrying a baby with Down's syndrome will have abnormal levels of these two substances in her blood.

I hope this helps!

I'm brainstorming on our babymoon holiday!! Planning to go holiday in my 2nd trimester. But still duno go where...anyone going holiday also?

Im doing Oscars on 31 Jan. So early at 8.30am...zzzz...
