Anybody using Dr Brown bottles? Is it sold at the baby fair? Its sterilizer is the microwave type. Good? Usually microwave is used to heat up food, now have to use it to sterilize baby bottles. Sounds unhygienic to me...

They say use cheaper diapers in the morning and more expensive ones at night. Haha. But I don't know which brands.

Diapers take up a lot of space. Don't think I'm buying so early. Have to start tidying up my room first. Unclutter all mess so that I can make space for baby stuff!

Yun: I think buy a steriliser better? I didn't notice bottles because I'm using avent for #1 so using back avent.
I also cannot accept the idea of microwaving or boiling the bottles.. But I did see one of my frd us this brand, like out of so many mother frd I know. What is so special abt this bottle?

Ceres - i heard the sales recomended 2 brands = moo moo kow & charlies bananas (u can login website to chk out the info). Go to the fair / go mothercare to touch the fibre yourself.

Hi mummies, i am new here. Currently about 16 weeks pregnant with my first child. Edd is 20/03/13.

I have been having cramps and spotting since pregnant. Is it normal? Anyone have the same experience? I feel so upset and scared everything i see the blood.

Carol: touch alrdy... Really no idea which to get haha. Then got this new brand rafraf.. Headache! Haha. An online don't hse much reviews comparing this 2.

I used pampers until son went childcare then switch to Petpet . Cos cheaper...I find dryers newborn noisy . Huggies not bad but become hard when full. Pampers become soft when full.

Hi faith tay, are you taking Duphaston? It helps with stabilising the baby. Think should reduce the cramps n spotting too. My wife was on Duphaston almost all the way until couple of days ago where she just stopped cuz we ran out. Oh yah, she's coming into Wk15 now.

Hi everyone,

I've been a silent reader of this thread since I found out that I was pregnant months ago. I'm currently 17 weeks and would like to join all of you here. (;

Btw, is there a fb grp that I can join? Who do I pm?

Thanks!

Hi mummies! I was at the fair yesterday. So crowded for a Friday morning! Didn't get anything for the baby but a few items for #1!

Milk bottles: we have been using Avent. My friend bought Avent new born starter set yesterday. The BPA bottles come in 2 types, 1 milky and 1 yellow. The salesperson told us the milky one is not suitable for boiling sterilizing method as the material is softer n will deform whereas the yellow is suitable. Mummies can have a feel of the difference urself at the fair.
I have friends who swear by tommee tippee too.

Milk Powder: the fair is selling at $66.++ for 1.8kg enfagrow stage 3. Luvbabies is selling at $68. We didn't get any because we do not want to lug it all the way home just for that dollar.

Diaper: think the price is good. Saw people getting them in cartons!!! Didn't check it out though. For the brand, we prefer Pampers as well. It's the thinnest i can find and soft and more importantly it holds for the longest time! So it saves us from changing too often even though it's a bit more $$. As #1 starts to walk more steadily, we put on Mamy poko pants (the yellow packaging and very affordable one) in the day and continue with pampers in the night.

Have fun shopping mummies!

Sigh not sure Tmr have diaper in the morning and whether the promotion is still on and freebies.
Wanna get the Huggies diaper an trunki suitcase.

S$789! So expensive! My friend got it from US, only S$400+ after conversion. Half price! Dilemma. Cousin is passing me her Avent pump. Should I try that first?

Avent manual pump is easy to use, and very portable too, easier to bring out. When I having my #1, I used it to pump at work and I have a Medela PIS at home. However, I think it is better to get an electric dual pump instead if plan to pump in office for extensive period. I was having wrist pain when pumping in office using Avent manual pump and it takes longer time to pump as well.

Yes medela service centre is at toh guan area ...

I had no problems pumping with my freestyle. Dual pump light weight and fast .. Within 20 mins I'm done with pumping at work. I sterilize the parts in office using microwave bags from medela and pump 2nd time in the afternoon .. Some friends justnput everything into am air tight box and reuse the parts again in the afternoon but I'm worried the milk turn bad ..

Monday blues ...

Hi Mummies,
just checking anyone bought the medela freestyle pump at the expo?
they cost 789 cos they throw in freebies where it cos up to 100+ la.

thinking of getting from the amazon. anyone thinking of that too?

sbb .. Buy local got warranty .. For me my set is a US set .. Friend lugged it back for me .. So far it's been 2+ yrs and it's still working fine. U can consider some SMH bulk purchase/spree if u want to buy the US set? Only freestyle don't need the voltage converter ...

HI HJ,
thanks! i saw at this what Moo10 they also got sell US SET at SGD 450 but have warranty. but i don't kw want to buy from them or not..

my friend use the philips and it gave way after 6 mths. ha..

What's moo10? Never hear before .. uS set also got warranty ?

I tried the avert pump .. My sil pass to me to try .. I think my wrist will break first haha .. I like power operated pumps ...

Mummies

I still feeling nausea and dizzy, sometimes headache after meal. Feeling so suffering. Already in my week 15 but still like that.

And everything I eat, there will be a after taste in my mouth. It takes a long time to subside.

No choice. Now I still got the gagging feeling at 18 weeks leh…
I guess 20 weeks should be better ba.. pray hard.

Anybody using Dr Brown pacifiers? Want to know if there are any good reviews as I bought Dr Brown bottles.
If not, I'll get NUK pacifiers.

Yun..
i tried the pigeon, NUK and other brands too.
my son only like avient pacifiers.

i guess its kids preference is it?

Sab, i am getting the medala freestyle n pumpin pal from amazon, seem reli alot cheaper.... bt yet to work outthe exact cost...

Detailed scan on 16nov and the EDD seems to be moving forward on every checkup.
I have horrible craving for chicken rice, potato stuffs n lots of snacks...
my appetite grow alot better in the day, breakfast at 7:30am n start feeling hungry by 10plus... till my lunch khaki also cant stand mi... bt still my wgt isnt gaining, is it normal?

Btw, which month do ya start taking fish oil. Other than this, is the any other supplements to take?
and is it correct to stop folic acid once you pass the first trimester?

You don't need a lot of folic acid after 1st trimester. Usually replaced with multivitamins, which contain a bit of folic acid. Doc prescribed fish oil when I was in my 2nd trimester.

I don't gain much weight also. Only increased by 0.3kg at my last visit, but Dr says it's Ok. Will see more weight gain later.

I still haven't feel any baby kicks. Normal? I'm waiting for detailed scan on Nov 30. Long wait.

Hi Shirlene, I think it's no cause for worry on the weight gain. My sister did not have much weight gain until the last 2 months where my BIL bought durians for her everyday. In the end, baby was very healthy at 3.2kg. In summary, if there aint enough weight gain for the baby, eat durians! ;)

Shirlene
Same. Me too getting from Amazon.
But im only thinking of buying maybe around Dec. 3 mths before we gave birth la..

Me too.. my original EDD should be 20 Mar, than become 17 than 11.
Is it cos that our baby is big or what? Its like more than a week fwd. is it ok?

Don't worry, your weight will slowly kick in one.. maybe 1 week you will gain few grams. Something like that.

Yun
Bb kick in liao le. Now im 18 weeks. The more obvious kick is last week.
Previously only fluttering feeling.

Me too.... cant feel anything yet. Maybe my skin too thick or tummy too much fat :p

Ic... bt am glad tt at least my wgt are more stable now.. :D

Yun

Dr brown bottles very gd to prevent collic . So if bb is colicky, it's a wise choice for this bottle. The only cons is that it's Hard to wash the tube and filter. Can store algae, so really to wash thoroughly after every feed which can be tedious.

Check the teats before u all decide which brand of bottle to go ahead. If u decide to go with breastfeeding, then milk bottle teats is very impt. The right teats helps the mimicking of bb sucking Ur nipples, so will not reject Ur nipples if u interchange bottle feeding.

mine edd seems to move backward leh..

last visit change to 8 march? hahaha..

i dont much movement also... i tot #2 shld felt easier...

Hello mummies, my edd move fwd too.. 15th to 9th.

I have been sick for more than a week. Lost my voice n phelgmy cough. The cough was so bad last night.

LucasMummy,
Did you see a doctor? Get well soon. Rest more.

So far, my EDD hasn't change - Mar 18.

How does fluttering feel? I don't feel anything!

LucasMummy
Take care of yourself.
The air yesterday heard is quite bad in the morning due to Indonesia volcano eruption on the Monday.

Maybe you can check if can drink some apple cidar vinegar?
Cos after I drank that a bit better…

Yun
Fluttering feelings is something like trapped gas under your skin. 

Yun
normally the trapped gas felt is near to your lower abdominal. thats where their movement is the most. the upper part i only felt little bit. not so much.
