DHM~ 1st trimester is from 0-13 weeks. My Gynae told me to take folic acid now. I remember calcium n DHA was for 2nd trimester on (n continue if breastfeeding). My Gynae is super cool about food restrictions (unless under special instructions fr him that cannot) - cold food n drinks/fizzy drinks/a bit of coffee a day.. In short, whatever u feel like eating or drinking, jus go ahead. But I still stand by the no raw/half cooked meat/not too much fish n no raw veg n half cooked eggs. There's a good app 'Food no-no's' for preg mummy. I find it useful.
For my 1st preg, I only had cold Ribena n magi mee for the first trimester. Was vomiting so badly. So glad that for this preg, am able to eat everything. Even had a huge bowl of laksa for dinner yest!
It's a pleasure to be in tis forum. I'm currently pregnant and my EDD is on 27th Feb 2013. My gynae is Dr.Loke from Women's Specialist Clinic at Tampines And I'll most probably choose to give birth at TMC. Please add me to any secret group you have.
For "real dragon" born in yr 2013, the last day will be on 3 feb.. After 4 Feb, it the commencement of the Snake year thou next yr Lunar Chinese New Year is on 10 Feb. U may wish to confirm the date for a dragon baby = )
just a bit of sharing of my experience so far with this #2.
Been having stomach upset and diarrhea on almost alternate days plus feeling nauseous mostly after dinner. Hence would try to have earlier bedtime to sleep off the queasiness.
Hopefully all these will pass soon in another few weeks time.
This time is more taxing and more uncomfy than #1.
tiggerbabe, I asked the feng shui shi fu. He said every year for Chun Li it will be always 4 Feb of the new horscope.. before anyone decide to schedule for a c-sect, do check ard with another shi fu . For this yr, those born before 4 Feb 2012, their chinese horscope will be rabbit cos ut yet hit Chun Li.
my eldest gal was borned in 3 feb 2009, which was lunar 8th day after CNY. Went to Master Jing Zi Ling for naming, they mentioned that she was born before li chun (thou past CNY cow) in chinese FS, he zodiac is still consider a Rat.. Very confusing de.
I'm only 28 and during explaination and giving out notes by gynae he straight away give out the OSCAR brochure..he didnt say its optional although i know it is...he just said next appt can do oscar test already...then i asked him its optional right...he said YES! then i told him oh ok...i will go back discuss and consider....at first he did ask y i dont wanna go.....i just dont know how to say...i just told him i will consider...then he said ok.....
When at the counter, the lady who gave me the supplements also said y i dont wanna go...and said cos its advisable and normally cos anything happen ppl will blame the doctor...i was abit upset on how she put it....sigh....
Lets say if my gynae treat me differently just becos i dont wanna test, I will change gynae and hospital, then.
True Angie....because of this I was so stressed. Cos I like my gynae and his nurse.. both are very very nice n gentle but not till when they r trying to sell 'the test' to me. actually if he is professional enough, no matter what any gynae should respect their customer's decisions. I hope he is...*crossing my fingers*
actually the selling part, the counter lady is more on the forcing side than my gynae. Yeah no matter what I have to be happy and not stress over these matter...=)
OSCAR is not just for ladies above 35 altho the odds are higher for those who are. Ladies in their 20s can also do OSCAR. It's really up to the individual to decide whether they'd like an early indicator of their baby's well-being. No need to let the doc or recept sway your minds.
