Morning mummies!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
All ready to breastfeed for as long as I can. Moo-ing is no easy job and need a lot of perseverance, so ladies jiayou! So.. taking fenugreek for a start may not work for everybody. Hmm..but no harm trying, shall get some from the bulk purchase.
Celine: check out the guideline from babycentre regarding the storage guide,
http://www.babycenter.com.sg/a8791/expressing-breastmilk
In short,
Freshly expressed milk can be stored for:
• up to five days in the main part of a fridge, at 4 degrees C or lower
• up to two weeks in the freezer compartment of a fridge
• up to six months in a freezer, at minus 18 degrees C or lower
If you plan to store expressed breastmilk for fewer than five days, keeping it in the fridge is the best way to maintain all its goodness
Sharon: Relax, soon we will be able to hold our little ones and kiss them on their cheek. Excited!~
Papaya Fish Soup Recipe which some say will boost your milk supply.
• 500g of fish of your choice, marinated with salt
• 1 large Green Papaya, peeled and seeded
• 3 stalks of Spring Onion
• 5-6 pieces of Dried Scallop
• 3 large Dried Dates
• 2-5 slices of fresh ginger
• 2 litres of water
Preparation Method
• Clean the fish by removing the scales and guts before marinating with a small amount of salt, both inside and out. Make a few slits along the fish with a knife.
• Let it sit for an hour and then drain any excess water.
• Peel and cut the green papaya into cubes.
• Start boiling your water.
• In a pan, add oil and fry the ginger slices with the fish on low medium heat until the fish is completely cooked and the skin is slightly browned.
• Put the fish in a soup bag and add to the boiling water.
• Add papaya, scallops and dates and spring onion.
• Boil for at least an hour or until the soup turns a milk colour.
This soup is rich in vitamins A, C and E as well as antioxidants. The green papaya, especially aids in increasing milk production.
