I'm letting bb drink BM and karihome as supplement. My no1 was on similac but at abt 2 or 3 yrs old he develop allergies, doc says cow milk could be culprit
 


Wow looks like three quarter mummies have delivered. I am still waiting for my turn. So anxious to see my LO.
Celia, I think FTM is usually to have longer delivery and I already mentally prepare I just hope can be shorter and easier. I hope you have a CL to help u thru. After all taking care of LO is a new experience so enjoy it!
Angeliqueous, I not storing FM. My Gynae clinic nurse said I can request from hospital see if they have sample. At least first few days or if not 1 week I will try BF but if BM don't kick in then ask hubby go buy. I already bought a set of medication feeding kit which come with measuring dropper, springle and a spoon to be use for feeding if necessary.

Thanks mummies, I have asked my CL to note down the amount and timing she feed bb formula ... though she always forgot, we will ask her and help to fill the sheet for her. Hope she catch the msg from us, we don't want to overfeed the bb ...

Ctrus, dun be upset ... mine already 18 days, bb still didn't like to latch most of the time and I have sore nipples too.

Yesterday bought a Philip Avent Manual pump from kiddy palace and pump in the afternoon. At night pump again, finished left side then tried on right side .. but due to nipple bleeding, the blood go into the bottle, ended up I have to throw away the initial breast milk that I pump. My husband also shocked when he saw me bleeding .. I told him this was done by bb. Right now, I just give bb latch when she was not so angry/ hungry ... other time will pump.

My milk supply also still about the same .. I don't know how to empty the breast coz everytime after 15 mins pump, I used hand to squeeze my breast, still have milk coming out ... I wonder if the pump not suit me. Now I have philip avent manual pump and Medela PISA ... I also going to get bigger size of breast shield as I suspected could it due to breast shield size problem ...

Jlau, I have similar contraction symptoms like yours... but you are great, can do it without epi ! Proud ~
 
pocketpig, do you know that it is ok to feed the baby the milk that is tinted with blood? So don't throw away the next time it is bloody. My gal still latch on the side that is cracked and occassionally she drinks "strawberry milk". Ionly know it was "strawberries" when she spit out the milk and it landed on her top.

thanks for updating the excel sheet..

It been a tiring period for me due to bf.. concluded that I can do exclusive pumping as my nipple is too short..bb simply can't latch on it thou I can buy the nipple puller or shield.. have been trying to latch in hospital thou nothing out.. been supplementing fm to bb since day 1 and nw waiting for massage lady to come...
 
I've just seen my gynae too. 39w today, no signs of labour yet. But good news, my water level improve, no need to induce. So shall wait for bb to come out at her own sweet time.

Anyone got recommendation of cream for firming the cellulite at tummy area? Massage lady bind me v tight , my tummy areas got water blister and v crumpled... The white cellulite v v itchy can't stand
 
Aspialle, u also having the same problem? Me too.. It's so itchy that I have to remove the binder at 3am-4am.. Unbearable

Massage lady says its bec of the ginger that we eat so have such rashes.

I'm getting emotionally depleted and impatience running out from the crankiness and fussiness that my #1 is putting me thru every night...
He simply refuses to slp now, not sure if it's bec he's sick w flu and cough or it's bec of the arrival of mei-mei...
He just wanna stay out of the bedroom and play! Sometimes till 5am! He will cry and scream if we bring him back to our bedroom and try to make him slp.
I've already stopped carrying and latching mei-mei at night when he's home from IL hse le, but it doesn't help at all...
Still the same; been 2 weeks le...

I foresee next month will be another headache when we send him to CC... Sigh!</font>
 
Littledragongirl: initially i had same prob as u.. Bt abit diff, mine is #1 will ask for milk when c bb latching. There was once she drank at 8+pm, asked again 10pm.. Than middle of the night wake up c bb latching ask for milk again!! And morning after wake up wants milk again!! There was once i stopped entertaining her n she kept crying.. Onli after about half hr than she slp.. Than day time tok to her say bb still small onlican drink milk, bt she diff, can eat lotsa stuff, so no need so much milk.. Did tell CC teacher too coz she did nt finish the morning milk once.. So told CC teacher to tok to her too.. Guess talkig slowly to her helps.. Once she understands than will get better. Now she doesnt wake up for milk, bt yest didnt wanna slp, wanna stay outside n play. So norm after i settle bb, after night feed will bring #1 into rm to slp.. Guess they're still trying to get used to it? Gd luck!!
 
LDG > Could the rashes be due to something else? I had such rashes during #1's time. The massage lady also said the same thing as urs. But it turned out that I was allergic to the antibiotics which was prescribed to me!

Rashes were gone the moment I stopped the antibiotics and i still continued with my ginger!

Or maybe, the rashes are due to her binds and her creams/oils? Since throughout ur massage session, binds wont be washed unless u urself take the initiative to?

Don't think it's allergy to oil she uses, cos only tummy area with stretchmarks n crumpled skin super itchy

Pocketpig, i oso kept a notebook to update on the timing and amount of the feedings. i m still recording every feeds for my #1 who is 19+mths now. its good to monitor feedings and what he eats. i even write down how long i latched on each side, pumped how much for each pump.

Moonchip, i just collected my GBS results. was ok.. phew! going to be week 37 in another 2 days. so now is the waiting game, which i dun like leh.. cos i haven apply leave yet. dunnoe when to apply leave, cos i dun wan to waste my leaves.
 
I rem last time 2010 the clinic I went asked to fill in the whole month of poo n feeding schedule (by similac) n I'm shocked as I'm the only mum that did the notes n they pass to them n guess what.. I have 6tins of similac free!!! Haha.

This time I might write it down also after CL

I have gained another 1.2kg in a month with baby gaining only 100g.. i think i really need to stop eatin so much..

nickole.. waiting is really torturing.. i am wk38 day 3, initially wanted to work from home till pop, then today super sian then blocked leave from Thursday onwards despite doc saying baby is not gonna pop until 1-2 weeks later.. simply no mood to work >.<

Snowger , thanks ... Now I know, next time won't throw away the precious breast milk , so wasted ...

Today bought another pair bigger size of breast shield for medela Pisa ... Seems worked better for me, also more comfortable. But I still encountered problem to empty the breast, use Philip avent manual pump also can't help.

My bb gal still very angry to latch on, keep shouting and crying ... My CL said she never see bb like this, normally they will just latch on. So heart pain when seeing bb cried like this, so I kind of give up and let CL feed her fm first.
 
Pocket pig, is it the angle she is latched on? Or the room temperature hot? Sometimes my bb will also cry n frustrated if angle not right and room too hot

haha, wat a small world!!! i put on 700g a week, and bb put on 300g a week.. and he still cont to nag at me and asked me not to gain too much wt, else will b a big baby. my bb weighs 3kg now (in tummy)

i've seen him last sat, he said that bb is ripe, weight is ripe, position is ripe.. now waiting for bb to chose the ripe time to come to this world...and he asked me to be more patient...

Morning pump 80 ml, after half hour start leaking milk when I want to bathe, I have prob everytime after pump, breast start to engorge v fast, can't be pumping so short interval

I already told boss that I will work till pop and he is ok with it. He told me no point to take leave and stay at home, mind will go wild.

I put on one kg every week.. *scary*

Sunny: i have gained a total of 20kg so far.. dr nags at me each time i go and said my diet must be that of a sumo wrestler >.< baby at 2.9kg at 38 weeks

anyway heading off for lunch.. alone at home can be very boring...

Just went for outpatient review for myself and bb, all is well. Gonna go back to my gynae for Pap smear after 5wks.

aspialle: my bb can latch properly, she angry because she was hungry and she recognise my breast milk supply was not as smooth as bottle one ... We too early introduce her the bottle and now she prefer bottle feed. So my breast feed just acted like a pacifier, she can latch very long when she wasn't so hungry ...

Today morning my CL received an urgent call from her home and she has to go back to settle her family issue ... Most probably she won't be back already , such a surprise for me ... Will be home alone with bb from today onwards, hope I can manage ... No more confinement for me, I've to bath bb everything by my own . Have yet to try to bath her since she born.

Hi pocketpig, is the bath tub for your bb a standing one? Just be careful.. From what I heard, as we have just given birth, the uterus is still weak.. So, try not to carry heavy things and don't squat.. Take care.. My hubby is back to work since Monday.. Hence, alone taking care of baby in the day and at night.. Terribly exhausted..

Just came home earlier and CL came...Just me and her. The children over at in laws for a day coZ both are ill. Hb didn't even take a single day off, went to work immediately Monday morn (I delivered Sunday evening).

So peaceful... For now.

Any mummies getting sleepy while bfg? Gosh I feel like a pig. Whenever she latches, I doze off! I know it's the hormones produced when lactating that causes you to relax...

The CL is in the kitchen now. Have been directed by her to rest. Hovering around her just now hoping she won't scratch my le creuset pot... The bane of a housewife-watching your kitchen invaded!!!

last sat my baby at 36w3days weighing 2.9kg liao. gynae said his head is on the bigger side, and he said i shldnt have problem trying for VBAC.. so scared now. lol!

Moonchip, good to hear that. but now GBS neg, till the time we go deliver will be the same anot? cos i heard even if now neg, doesnt mean at the point of time when delivering, it is still neg leh.. any idea? i forgot ask my gynae too. he only said i dun need antibiotics now.
 
Pocketpig and Joey.. take care of yourselves..while you are recuperating and caring for yr babies. I know it is not easy with no extra help..

Went to see doc for post-delivery review today. Took out the stitches..slight discomfort when she was cutting the stitches away. Also made appmt for a pap smear and follow up 6 weeks later.
 
Touching water/confinement:
Hard not to touch water lei.... I am washing the pump parts every 4 hrly and also changing diapers and feeding bb during day and night. Bathing bb is outsourced to my hubby. But agree that should not squat and bend back or carry heavy things, esp w weak uterus, episiotomy/c-sec. currently bb still sleeping quite a lot, so can rest more!

My #1 uses the Vanille cot, but I think bimbo bello is the higher end (better wood) one. It has served us well and is spacious enough for him to use it even as he is coming to 3yo. So long as bb makes full use of it (haha meaning not co-sleeping w parents on jig bed etc) it is a good buy IMO.

nickole, my pelvic bone also super painful thats why wanted to stop working and rest abit and prepare for baby's arrival and maybe read some books, watch some movies and play some mj (dont think i will have time for myself later)

chin.. i thought the stitches no need to remove one?
 

he nvr say.. but the appointment lady said next week i need to do CTG.. i think it is done on 39th week.. urs should be one week after mine
