Hi mummies , if pump 2-3 hrs interval, do u sterilize each pump, or soak in boiled hot water? If not have to sterilize many times a day?

Hi aspialle, I sterilised after each pump

aspialle: i used to sterilize every time before i pump for the first 3 months.. after that i got lazy i just use hot water..to be safe, better sterilize

4seasons > i am also delivering at Mt.A.. got to bring 3 sets of pyjamas (those with buttons in front for bf) u mean?

the reno still ongoing ah? i recalled the staff says by end Dec '12 will end internally, only reno works at carpark will continue...

Hi Aspialle, i will soap all pump parts and then sterilise or just soak in boiled hot water. Both methods will be fine =)

4season, i agree that mt A nurses are really very patient and helpful! I delivered both babies at Mt A and both experiences are really good. Thumbs up!

Re: very very very itchy rashes

any mummy got this very very very itchy rashes on the body but mainly in the stretch mark area?

i started to develop this only last Sunday.. Wonder y?..

any way to lessen the itch? also hor, not only itchy... it's like bubbles... i went to the gynae, gynae says it is normal as i am nearing the last stage of preggy and he gave me calamine lotion and an anti itch cream... bt only temporary relief leh... aft 2 hours, i feel very itchy again...

Moonchip, oh.. even with pethidine, u still need anesthetic for stitching ah? i thot oredi pain relief liao mah... so with pethidine during delivery, still can feel the pain?

Nickole > i actually stopped putting the stretch mark cream when i developed this rash... hahaa... cuz, gynae says to use calamine lotion so i diligently apply it as and when the itch is really unbearable..

so, when i put the lotion i did not mix with the stretch mark cream liao...

Hi Sylvia, can help me update? I delivered my baby on 3 Jan, natural, birth weight 3.31kg.

Busy adjusting to baby since his arrival. Also, he has high jaundice, we took him home, but had to admit him again. Hopefully, he can go home tmr.

Pfshi, I had had eczema prior to delivery as well. Alternatively, you can put cold patch on the areas (diaso sell cute ones in heart shape). My finger also very itchy, I put plasters over them.

Courageous, you still have the pain killers? I did epi, and doc gave me some pain killers. Helps a bit, mine is also 6 days old, delivered 3 jan. hurts when I walk more. Maybe try to lie down more? The wound still bleeding?

Pfshi, the plaster stop me from scratching them. Found it useful leh. Stomach itch gone after delivery, but fingers still there. Doesn't help that in confinement, must keep warm and not touch water

Sylvia, wah so prompt!! Thanks for updating!! The painkiller, I finish all that is prescribed.... KS, scared stop, the pain will come back...... Helps relieve some pain, but of course, it still hurts..... Now still walking like penguin..... Plus of course, the piles are there after the big pushes.... Haiz....

I just happ to be online to chk n update. usually will do a few times in case all went to archive due to many posts.

Used to be canopy updating, just helping out so that she can rest and dun hv to chk often.

hm..... I din feel pain so never eat any after return from home. Even when gynae prescribe more, i asked nurse can no need to many as I din even take anymore. imagine gynae wanted to give 4 per day for 3 weeks....... I think I will be painless n numb!

no. it's those that u peel off the adhesive protection layer and can use immediately.

The freezer type nt suitable for newborn n bb as too cold n suddenly apply to newborn will coz bb to have fright n that's no gd.

this is mild. After using, the fever patch will change to white to indicate, cant use anymore.
The bb version for some brand is white though.

good for wound, pain, fever, toothache, cut,etc.

u put plaster ard hand, no fresh air and will be drier? coz used to hv such prob due to frequent washing. when preg stop, now coming back. I apply milderm which gynae gave for tummy on it or aloe vera or find those cream without chemical, fragrance. Oh!!! i forgot the brand name..... petroleum jelly , a yellowish 5cm tall with blue cap. from top view from cap is rectangular, thinking starting with V. That's good.

It's recommend to bring pj with center button so easily for bf

I never expect this so didn't buy pj..me wear my own loose long dress/tube dress with cardigan only.
A bit ma fan during bf cos hv to remove strips or whole dress &amp; me never wear bra..btw my dresses are all dark color &amp; got my cardigan to cover when visitors come

Perhaps 2 sets is enough but jus in case ganna blood stains &amp; hygiene purpose, you may want to bring one more.

Piyoz, yes. Hv painkillers n ate too. Does your wound still hurt? Smtimes, i tend to confuse the bleed with menses. Nt sure if its menses or blood frm wound. I couldnt see wat is underneath but could feel stinging sensation n bumps below.

Courageous, aspialle, I don't dare to see down there too. I didnt use pethidine.... Gynae just instruct me to take in the laughing gas while he stitch.... Ya, think all,the way till anus. I feel some lump outside anus..... Don't know if is piles or part of the stitch.....

The bleeding from the wound, I tell after when I clean with the wound wash with cotton. Most of the time the cotton remains clean. Also the wash only can use for 7 days.... So I figured, the bleeding has stopped. Actually I also not sure leh......
My gynae only seeing me 2 weeks after delivery. Hopefully, by then, discomfort gone.

Episiotomy wound,
It's day 4 and my wound also still painful so continue w panadol as pain killers only as I had requested not to hv the stronger painkillers. It may hv got worse after I had constipation and went toilet this afternoon, which could hv caused the wound to bleed slightly. Seeing gynae 10 days after delivety to check wound n move stutches.... Also dun dare to really check down there.... Routine is just to rinse w water, dap dry, spay the Earth Mama bottom spray only. Did not hv any lotion or med to apply when discharged. keeping my fingers crossed all will be fine!

Aiyoh, my little prince is nocturnal! Eyes open big big at night and wanna be carried instead if just lying down on bed! Day time keep sleeping! If this continues I may hv to change my sleeping pattern too to align with his. These 3 days hubby on paternity leave, hope can cope w both #1 and the bb from tmr too when he starts work coz that means he may be too KO to do night feeds on my behalf!

I'm in my Day 5. I only managed to poo yday. Was a little stinging pain coz poo abit hard. Din hv to take any painkillers as the pain below is slight only when seated down. My Gynae gave me this antiseptic spray Curacao which I think it's good. You may want to see if u can get it from ur gynae or pharmacy. My Gynae says to see him one week later to check wound. Dun need to remove stitches.

We in the same boat! Hb going back to work tmr. I'll hv to settle my two elder boys when they come back from school. Siong ah!

I am timing my pumping after bb feeds (fr bottle), so that at least once done will hv a stretch of time to rest, sleep, or just di what I want. He drinks very slowly la, can latch on up to 40min but I still dunno whether he full or not, plus keep dozing off. If feed fr bottle, less than 5min finish drinking 60ml, more efficient la!

Wounds and healing,
I am super kiasu and ate everything prescribed by gynae. The stool softener is a great help so you won't strain and aggravate your stitches, plus you avoid constipation which worsens the situation cos you push more. I recommend taking it till your wound doesn't hurt.
