Hi Jlau, I think what matters most is the well-being of the baby and mother, whichever is the delivery method.. Don't feel down just becos u r unable to go through natural delivery.. Never for once i had imagined myself to go under the knife too.. But, for the sake of the baby, a decision has to be made.. Most importantly, u have to trust your gynae.. Just that different delivery methods require different recovery process and time.. All the best!

I also went to polyclinic on Tues for jaundice check and they took 2 small strawlike tubes of blood during which my boy was just crying non stop lor see already so heart pain - so cannot imagine if they take more than necessary! Gotta go back tmr morning as well for same thing. Furthermore the wait is terrible! Hope w appt made for tmr morn will be better.

Went for my 38 wks checkup yesterday. Water level has dropped but baby only partially engaged and no signs of labour or dilation yet. So i opted to wait till Mon. If water keeps dropping, will induce.

Pocketpig, i think you should ask you CL to follow your instruction. If baby is hungry u can latch again, there is no need to supplement with FM unless doc gave instruction to do so. She needs to respect your decision.

Joey, Fullhouse > I also didn't want to over feeding the baby … example this morning, she woke up at 8am and I bf her for an hour then she didn't sleep and CL give her bathing etc, then feed her FM 60ml; she still cannot sleep then 11am I bf her for half an hour and pump out 40ml to feed her. She still cannot sleep and CL gave her another 60ml FM at 2pm. i.e. from 8am to 2pm, she had being feed bf 1.5hr, pump out bm 40ml and FM 120ml … For a 2 wks old bb, is it considered too much? CL said she need to be feed if she cannot sleep … She said if vomit is good, to clean out her stomach. I feel very uncomfortable to see she vomit out the milk, last night she vomit out a lot .. but is bb herself keep crying to drink after I breast feed her for an hour. I not sure how much did she drink during this hour but she seems always not satisfied with my bm and want to get formula …

wait till cant wait, gynae pro natural, without reason wont even induce or go c-sect. #1, nurse ask him go induce, he also dun approve &amp; said why I ok n gd condition, must go induce. rather let me wait for natural delivery.

anyway, he press my tummy to see how big is the bb.

Thanks piscean33, I just ordered the bottom spray from Agape Babies and took the 24hr courier service. Hope this bottom spray can help me to ease some pains.

FRIENDS, thanks for the advices … I'd eat chicken and eggs as most of the confinement food will have chicken and my husband also wanted me to eat egg for breakfast to get protein. I think I have to reduce the intake of chicken and egg then … Yeah, I also think that I might already hurt it while sitting so now I used the donut cushion whenever I want to sit. Great to hear that you already recover from episiotomy wound … wish my wound can be recovered soon, I will need to make an appointment to see my gynae as his clinic always crowded. And during my stay in hospital after delivery, he commented my wound looked good and last 2 days visit the clinic the nurse also said looked good. I wonder if they really check in details or may be my wound really looked good?

Seems like all these CL are the same - like to keep feeding. Mine is the same. I suspect that they just want to make the baby very full so that they can sleep longer, and hence they do not have to mind the babies.

Pocketpig - maybe check with the PD?

I checked yest for my baby - at 5 days, the pd said ranges from 30mol to 90ml, depending on time of the day, interval between fees (usually 3 to 4 hr), and size of the baby.

bdmummy, thanks for the info … My bb always angry when latching, may be she know sucking nipple took more "effort" as comparing to sucking bottle. So she will be very angry and didn't want to latch properly, need some time to make her latch on.

At day time, we have more chances to control how much bb drinking .. I think I will try to feed bb by my own during day time so try to monitor how much she drink.

mummies, d ur newborn bb sleep a lot? What are they doing when they wake up? My bb wake up normally is when she is crying, either crying for food or her diaper is dirty. She seldom wake up without crying …

My boy came home today

jaundice barely meet requirement of 11. His is 10.9 after three nights in TMC. Think like #2, he will have prolonged jaundice

Aspialle, bdmummy, I planning to bring my baby back poly clinic for jaundice follow up. The queue really very long? Thought they have this express queue for newborns?
Rmb for my #2, we could know the results in less than 5 min, then can go home in an hour.

Pocketpig, that's too much milk already.. I understand from PD that u can give small and frequent feeds but not so much at 1 go.. It will hurt their tummy.. What kind of logic is that by saying baby's vomiting is good? This means that their tummy is engorged with milk.. Kept vomiting will cause reflux.. Every 3 hours can consume max to 90ml.. But that's for a 3 hour each.. Sometimes baby don't sleep does not mean he/she is hungry.. I will leave the baby be in the cot.. Unless he cries for milk again.. Sometimes, they will explore and go back to sleep after that..

@jos, TMC will provide those delivery gowns for u to wear.. But I find that too exposed.. Unless u r staying in a 1-bedded ward, it's best to bring your own pyjamas.. Also, to aid in bf-ing they will not tie the strings for u.. So, most of the time, the gown will slip off which makes it awkward if u have visitors..

Pocketpig, baby's crying could mean a lot of things.. They could only cry to communicate.. It could mean the diaper is dirty, or their back is hot (if they are sleeping in a cot), they just want a little cuddle from u, or they are hungry (I will usually test by touching their chin), or they refused to be swaddled and just want their hands out to stretch.. If they are hungry, the normal reaction will be that they will keep turning their head towards you, in search of ur breast..

Polyclinic just called me as l wanted to book apptment for the first injection. Again the service sucks, hep b 2 nd dose is to be taken after bb turn one month.... She told me "can come tomorrow or not " when I already told her my bb is born 3 jan...
Wonder all staff know or don't know, put me on hold 4 to 5 times to ask colleagues ... Faintz

Pocketpig.. first time heard of vomiting is good??!! hmm, even for adults, the feeling of vomiting is so xinku, let alone a NB.. better check with ur PD on the feeding amount. i will bf till he unlatch then if cry then feed milk. meanwhile u can let baby lie on a big pillow, allevate abit to prevent vomiting. if ur baby is awake, maybe u can cry and talk to her, let her hear u, smell u, will be comforting to her, then wont cry cry too much will cause wind too.. and ya, Friends is right. i think u shld avoid chicken and eggs till ur wound fully recovered.
