Actually for most OPKs (clearblue digital smiley included), should not use FMU. The only one that can use FMU is the clearblue fertility monitor.
I am looking at my clearblue smiley instructions and they didn't advise to use FMU. They just said it is more convenient to test first thing in the morning and that we can test any time of the day. But from what I know and think other "experts" like lynzi has concurred, clearblue digital smiley should not use FMU.

Using FMU may not be a problem for you, but if you do not detect a surge during the cycle you use FMU, try testing later during the next cycle.

During lunch I went to a generic medical hall to grab TCM herbs for my DH. The guy asked me abt my CD. He told me the fertility med shld delay my CD to abt 28days, if I have been taking for long and still my CD is ard 25days den I shld check with my TCM or go to him for advice. A bit weird for him to suddenly asked me but I will just take it that is out of concern as I have been grabbing herbs from them for almost a year.
Actually abt the CD, my Dr. Tan SB also told me the same thing. CD25 is no gd for me, roughly CD28 is better.

anyway its easier for me to test with FMU.. cause day time its difficult for me not to drink water and not to pee for 4 hrs before testing..

Have been reading from internet, now I know how shorter cycle (less than 28 days) affects pregnancy:
"If your cycle is too short, you may want to see your doctor. Studies show that cycles which are too short can cause your body to not produce hormones in the correct amounts to help sustain a successful pregnancy."

That's right because your luteal phase is short which doesn't give the embryo enough lead time to be implanted which could lead to miscarriage. Short luteal phase is something that gynaes will look out for although I've met some gynaes who don't care or never look into this aspect. It's better to switch gynaes if they are not as knowledgable or seem unsympathetic to our situation.

waves, thanks. I didn't know I have this problem. I have seen gynae before and did some tests and they gave me a Pass on my report card. DH side not so good. Luckily I started seeing TCM last year to tiao bodies. Hopefully my cycle days will improve to have a better environment for the upcoming one

If you want to know more, can read up on "luteal phase defect". That is the official name for it. It means that after O, your luteal phase (days to next AF) is very short and you do not have sufficient time for the egg to implant. Anything less than 10 days is considered a luteal phase defect.
But I think it might depends on when you O. Take bearGE's example. Her cycle is 26 days. But she O-ed last cycle around CD11/12 which means her luteal phase is abt 14-15 days so still quite ok.
But with all these short cycles (less than 28 days), still good to have a check as it might still be of concern since 28 days seems to be the norm. HTH...

Hi ladies,
Am busy with some things at home and did not have much time to come here.. I may not be able to go for the gathering next week as I may have to "standby" to help out at home..
My AF still not here yet, discussed with my dh and decided most probably only wait for one cycle after that will try ttc again instead of wait for 2 cycles.. Will also be most likely changing my TCM.. Should be going back to the TCM I have been seeing since sec school..
My mom told me recently she went to her friend's son wedding and her friend told her that her daughter-in-law did not conceive after 1 year of marriage so decided to bring her to the TCM I had used to go to.. The TCM gave her some herbs to boil and drink I think should be once in two days and after 3 weeks, she was pregnant! Should have gone to my this TCM but as this TCM is so difficult to see, booking have to be nearly one month in advance.. Hopefully I can see her this Friday to see what herbs I can take to tiao my body so that my AF comes soon for me to TTC!

The TCM is used to be opposite united squares, now moved to cambridge road..

The TCM is Dr Tan Bee Gawh, she is actually very specialised in Orthopedics, I did not know she also can help in fertility until my mom's friend informed us.. Will be going there to try out..

I just activated my clearblue digital last cycle and it really pinched to see the 'not pregnant'...sim tia over both the test kit and cycle gone with the wind.

another morning of almost late for work day...Lucky tmr is Friday, can look forward to.
Finally spotted the 2 lines for my opk. Guess this cycle O-ed late compare to last cycle. Make me worry for that moment of no O for this cycle....
Hopefully our dream all come true in this cycle!! JIA YOU!!

it just some emotional imbalance...
went out with my sister in law yesterday.... when she sharing her parent in law kept asking her to take more durian as it very bu...and her hubby behave mussy, after dinner will ask her is my baby full already...
then her hubby help her take her bag, but my hubby never.. then she asked why dont get my hubby to carry.. i tell her straight i dont have the privilege like you..
the whole behave just make me very uncomfortable... which caused me have some emotion imbalance.</font>

sjx>> dont take it too hard. some ppl tends to be not sensitive enough toward their surrounding ppl. We must learn to be taking it easy, let it be. Afterall, you all are 1 family, no point make yourself not happy whenever seeing her,right? I also dont like ppl comparing their hubby and my hubby. Everybody on earth are different. We cannot compare. Dont take it to heart of what she said. Inner peace.
