mummy_baby2008 >> it happened to me last month too! the pain at my wisdom tooth was EXCRUCIATING!!
panadol din help. managed to get a last min referral to a public hospital for the dentist to attend to me. 2 options was given:
jia you!
1. Wait and see. Bear with the pain and hope it goes away
2. Go ahead with the operation. Some wisdom tooth may need x ray. Doctors will brief you on the risk involved.
I went with option 1. Even though they say the local anesthetic is safe for mummy and baby, there is no trials on pregnant woman on it before. Moreover, need to take x ray. I dont want to subject myself and my bb to that kind of risk. utimately, the decision maker is yourself. Please discuss with your husband.
in addition, u cannot lie too long on the dental chair cos it may be uncomfortable for you to be lying on your back. preggy woman are not advised to lie on their backs for too long...
if u ultimately decide to go for removal of wisdom tooth, they advised me to go hospitals instead of private practise. at least the infection control is better and should the baby or mummy have any reactions, there is always a medical team on stand by...
i have booked my wisdom tooth removal in june, after we give birth. hopefully the pain doesnt return these few weeks
