if cab tbf, that's the best. When ppl said fm can make bb full in longer period, i m skeptical abt that. My 2 kids who were on total bm, sleep thru when they were 2.5 n 1.5mths. ^o^

Hi Mossie,
thanks for sharing. I was asked to do the prick test for two days a week by my gynae using the Optium machine.
So i am doing it for today and Friday. Then Sat see gynae to show her my readings.
Im not sure if i want to be gung-ho and do for everyday this week, to show my gynae that i am determined and able to control my own diet so that i can cut down on the GD risk for self and baby.
And also make my family less worried. Sigh, you know how ppl's imagination can run wild and when they found out i have this condition, they kept nagging at me, asking me to avoid this and that - i know out of concern and love, but i feel so painful being reminded...I can feel how diabetes ppl feel now!

At the same time, I got to learn so many new terms and things out from this glucose test kit thingy. Like Lancing, lancelets,mmol/L..

By the way, want to ask u if you only found out GD during 3rd trimester? Or you found out even earlier?
I was curious why GD was only discovered in me so late. Cos if I had known earlier, i could have taken such preventive measures and do diet controlling from start to end.

Thanks!
Jesline

Sunny: i also skeptical about the sleeping through with FM lar. My #1 is like 22months now. But she still don't really sleep through. She has been on night FM since 3 or 4 months old, and transited to full FM at 10months old. Have tried all ways and means to get her to sleep through, but it just doesn't work.
So mummies who want to TBF (me included), don't get swayed.

MummyJesline: Some mummies develop the conditions only later in the pregnancy. Most gynaes will make you do urine dip stick at your monthly visits. If there's no obvious signs of sugar in urine, no exceptional weight gain, no history of diabetes, etc, usu the OGTT will only do in the 3rd tri.
My pre-eclampsia was never detected during #1 times until i was 36 weeks, although gynae did suspect earlier on, and sent me for the blood test, which i passed. At 36 weeks, my BP went up another notch, and had to be induced at 37weeks.

Ms Tan- I've been seeing my gynae once every 3-4 weeks. Last appt was @31 weeks and next appt is @34 weeks. Should become more frequent after next appt. Probably once every two weeks.

Hi El: oh ok so I m on the same track as you
happy.gif
because I heard some see every 2 weeks.. I don hav much leaves left..my co don allow gynae appt as MC.. So my leaves hav been using up alot recently ..haiz..
My bb now 1.8 kg liao

, I m 32 weeks this week.

Thanks MeinMe and lotusmom!

oh ya, just to check the Avent breastshells comes in one standard size right? gonna get a pair and hopefully it will help in relieving the engorgement and painful nipples initially this time!

Lotusmum, same here, GD.

Haru, no size for the Avent shells.

Ms Tan, last Sat 30W, my next visit is 3 weeks time, probably wil move to 2 weeks after next visit or as I'll be c-sec at 38W.

Sunny, lucky for u tat your two kids can sleep thru' with bm..in 1.5 and 2.5 mths... Yah will try to tbf tis time
happy.gif

Blue_turtle, even my 3 yr old boy nw on fm also dun sleep thru'. I tink it all depends on luck n individual bb. Just sharing my experience on feeding ebm n fm to my #1 when he was bb. He will cry for milk every two hrs after ebm, n three hours after fm so tats why I conclude fm last longer
happy.gif
but I guess it all depends on bb themselves.

Ms tan, nice pics
happy.gif
yr hubby can take snap shot well.. My hubby also gt slr camera but I din ask him to take. Ended up, vainpot went to take photoshoot with my two bestfrens who r also preggy hee...

Ms Tan, nice shots done by your hubby! My hubby can't do any of this, doesn't even have a decent camera, hahaa..I think we need to buy at least that Canon S100, to capture our babies' first actions on arrival
happy.gif

Pinkbunny, wow really nice those underwater shots. She was going to deliver on the same week, omg.. Must be very expensive though, hahaa.. And cannot smile throughout :p

Cayden's mummy, welcome! I bought Avent milk bottles and pacifier. I'm a first timer so not sure about whether NuK or MAM is better..

I'm hitting wk32 today, another 5wks to go to my c-sect.. I'd better sleep as much now, to prepare for sleepless nights ahead
happy.gif
gonna tbf too, good luck to all of us!

Hi.. Thanks! Hubby jus try only.. Heehee I do like some shots thay he took too ;)

My bb hiccups everyday.. Sometimes up to 4 times aday ley...anyone experience this? I called gynae n he say is normal ask me not to worry.

Ms Tan,
those pictures are super cute .. I will ask my husband to try tkaing some as well
happy.gif
We might end up going to a studio though as we also want some nice couple pictures before I deliver .

Ashley, Cayden's mummy: The bottles are only good if your baby wants to use them. Every baby is different. What works for 1, might not work for another. If you have already bought bottles, den dun waste $$$. Just try to use them. There are also some babies who are ok with 1 brand, and later suddenly not ok.
This is the same for wipes, shower foam, diapers, formula milk etc. Must monitor and see if baby is allergic etc.

Thanks Ashley for the welcome!
happy.gif
ooh where will u be delivering? Hee.

Blue_turtle: thanks for the information! I do not have any bottles currently.. Should I buy 1 small and 1 big bottle first? For the other items will be buying 1 packet first to see if bb will be allergic.. Hopefully not!

Marriage cert must be original bah. However I'm going to a master to get my bb's Chinese name calculated so will not be registering immediately after the birth..

for newborn, small bottle will be enough. if need to consider if you are going to be expressing milk before deciding how many of each bottles to buy. Usually most pump sets would also come with bottles which you can use for both pumping and feeding.

Arghhhhh just typed a big chunk of stuff and it disappeared!!

Quick update
Ocean store at people's park complex has california baby products at 20% off. Calendula cream is $28 before disc. They also have napisan at $4.90 and ABD baby laundry powder at $5+ (JL selling $8+!)

toileteries also cheap and kids toothbrushes (oral b and kodomo) too. Those who work/live around the area, might be worth to take a look

Now all I have to do is to get hubby to vacuum baby mattress and set up the cot, pack hospital bed and we're ready to roll! Can't wait to smell baby :D I love baby smell!!

pinkbunny: LIKE! your post. Hahaha.. i was saying in our FB page.. the shops aorund Ocean has those botton down pjs/robes for wear in hospital after delivery and they have baby towels at super cheap price compared to the department stores!

Thanks blue_turtle! You sound like an experienced mummy! Hehe. I might just get 1 of each..

Pinkbunny: yeah! Always go to that place to get our daily toiletries. There is another bigger shop downstairs that sometimes sell cheaper. Gonna get my wet wipes and bb laundry detergent from there too. Do u know if the California baby products are cheaper than those spree online?

Little_dd: thanks for e info, will go and look ard when I go Chinatown as well!
happy.gif
need to get nursing tank top, already have nursing bras..

pinkbunny: is the Calendula cream 2oz or 4oz? if it is 4oz, it is definitely cheaper than d spree

Went down to Chinatown last weekend to get the pajamas and only manage to get 1 as it is so crowded. Might make a trip down again to get baby detergent.

LittleDd: agree that d baby towels are cheaper and also d disposable cotton undies.

pinkbunny
whereabout is ocean at chinatown?

cot mattress
anyone has the latex mattress? how long could we used it? mine has been used for 6 years. the side of the mattress is kind of hardened already. not sure if need to get a new one or not. i called the company selling babysafe cot mattress, they are selling it at $170 at the baby fair this week, which is 30% from retail price...

ladies, CB is not cheaper at Ocean, that price is for 2oz. They only carry limited range and is 20% off retail. It's cheaper in BP.

I went to get PJ too but realised Clementi central selling the exact same thing at cheaper price!!! I got at $12, Clementi selling at $8 or $9!!!

Hi, I got my pj at those neighborhood CK shop. Oni $7plus.

Btw, izit a must to get maternity disposable panties ? Can we use those normal disposable panties which we use for overseas travel ?

Anyone noe where can I get those cheap maternity bras ?

Hi ladies, the PJ u all bought are the normal
2 piece type with open button front? Or those 1 pc dress? Not sure which ones are more suitable.. Thanks!

Sunny: maybe can ask babysafe if they offer trade in? Hehe. Heard latex mattresses are very good. Anw, 30% off is a very good deal! I think normal price about $200+?

Ocean is at people's park complex level 3 which is a yellow building housing a food centre on first level. It's behind this green building called people's park centre (not sure) which has all the tour agency..

Bbliss: my mummy friend told me if petite size, just get normal
Disposable panties and pads. The maternity ones are too huge! Guess it makes sense too, they are suited for small to very big sized ladies, so it will def be very loose for petite ladies!

MeiNme
I didn't notice if it's 2 or 4oz, but it's the size that is going at $28+ at watsons
happy.gif
but not sure how much they are going for on sprees la, cos I don't use CB
happy.gif

PJs
I saw too but only 2 shops selling? Thought there were more. Almost got one but it was shorts kind
sad.gif
I'm quite particular about cotton cos some are scratchy. Prefer the T-shirt kind.

Bbliss
CK got sell? Ok I'll go check! Thanks!

Cayden's mummy
I have 2 dress kind (button down nursing gown) which I'll use at home. Last time at hosp I wore another button down dress but realised a bit challenging getting on/off bed then must adjust adjust so this time will be going for pants instead
happy.gif

Oh chinatown market area should have a few shops too!

LittleDD, Qiqi, cayden's mummy
Haha I go there quite often for the usual toileteries. Found napisan some more. Super happy. Ocean carries baby bottle wash too which I didn't see at swanston. Spent $80 today on sooooo many thing there haha.

I brought the 1 pc button down dress kind to the hospital. Cos will be easier for the midwives/nurses to clean and help us when we cannot get off bed to use toilet. The dresses you can also pull higher up so that you don't dirty it when lying down! hahaha...
Once you can get off bed to use toilet or walk around, then the pants will start making sense.

After going home, den u can probably have a mixture of 2 pieces and dresses, whatever your confinement allows u to wear. I was in my spag tops and shorts most of the time. But will change into comfy PJs when i go sleep.

Post maternity underwear. Do not expect yourselves to return to original shape and size after delivery! i will be getting 2 packs in the current maternity size that i am wearing, should be good enough for 1 week. After that, send someone to buy more for me, in updated size so that I don't have to wear loose underwear. The maternity pads are also quite long and thick, so the extra cloth on the underwear will be required so that it won't be tight after u stick the pad.

Bbliss: There's a few maternity bra BP threads in the forum. u can go check them out.

sunny,
i am also looking for a BN latex mattress for baby. Is the baby at expo or take? Not sure of any other brands other than Babysafe, 30% sounds like a good discount.

post maternity underwear:
actually i am using regular panties as I find disposable very loose and doesn't work well with pads. i will use my usual Sloggies which i normally did whenever i have my period, the bottom is made with the material which makes it easy to wash if stained. =)

pinkbunny: normally i will go swanstons for my toiletries. tink mayb tis time will go over to ocean for baby detergent..

if chinatown pajama really ex, mayb must go neighbourhood area source liao. onli bought 1 and is looking for at least 2 more..

I just bought batik material button front loose dresses to use during confinement. Like the cooling material and $10 only each.
