(2011/02) Feb 2011

sigh.. Today nvr even drink a single cup of coffee.. And I am feeling all the withdrawal symptoms now. I feel like vomiting, headache, shoulder and neck pain, stuffy nose, tired waist and every part of my body pricks.. ARRGGHH..

Someone save me.. I ate 2 cup cakes just a moment ago and trying to think what can I drink to quench my thirst. While walking towards the office door, I saw a can of coke on the table. Don't tell me it's God's will for me to drink the coke?!

myproud, I feel the same. After my visit, I came back home with all the vits and my hubby's eyes went as big as saucers. During my first pg, also nvr eat so much vits. Then he saw the fish oil and exclaimed that nowadays babies and children all 好命

Now I hv calcium, multi vits, aspirin and fish oil. I think the multi vits and fish oil the worst. The capsules so big. The other nite, I almost choked on the fish oil..

when I saw the coke, I was telling myself if it's empty, it's nvr meant for me to drink and if it's full, I should go and buy myself a can.

Well, it turns out to be FULL. So when I was about to step out of the office, I felt a pull on my butt. Cramp again [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Valerie, tht's what I thot so too. Nowadays, I dun 戒口。 Keep drinking soft drinks like nobody's business.. Sometimes also feel bad

@felpoo: Hmm.. Maybe you cut down of your intake if you really need to drink? But I belive your baby will pull you away. Hehehe..

myproud: You can try go Jurong Point Watson and get the S. I also searched many places and the pharmacy told me S only issued by gynae but lucky there have. $38 a bottl2 of 30 capsules. 2000mg is too much. If i am not wrong, pregnant lady should take about 1000mg a day. Valerie took 500mg should be just nice as we also get calcium from our normal food diet. For my wife, i try to convinced her to drink annum daily to get calcium instead of relying on pills.

Preciousbabi, I do understand. I also do not know what happened to my taste buds and stomach. Before pg, I am able to take salty dishes. Now if the food is slightly salty, I feel like vomiting. Then hv to find coke to neutralise the MSG. Other gassy drinks dun seem to work well.

Our first baby, u r really a good daddy. U take note on all the minor details for your wife. So considerate. As for my hubby, I think all he knows is to ask me eat more and more and then complain tht my butt is getting big.. haha

Btw mummies, do you experience waking up at the same time every night to urinate and/ or sneezing? I realised I woke up every morning 4:44am to pee and 5:43am sneezing non-stop.

Felpoo: Try green tea, soya bean? Don't take too much gassy drinks.. Limit yourself to like 2 cans per week? And coffee, no good for baby too.. Have less..

Felpoo: Really?? So funny.. Maybe can buy 4D with the times.. Haha.. I wake up at different timings.. Go to bed at about 10pm on weekdays, then sometimes will wake up 11plus, 1plus or 2plus.. But everytime after I pee and go back to bed, my nose will either be blocked or running.. So have problem going back to sleep again.. Haiz.. *tired*

Oh ya, I took medicine from Dr Henry the last visit.. Finishing the course but it doesn't seem to work on me [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif].. Maybe bcoz I have serious sinus before preggy.. So now also must cling on to me.. Sianz..

preciousbabi, u r right! Can buy 4d.. Aiyoh .. I cannot tolerate anymore.. Must go home now.. If not, later concuss during my girl's lesson..

Enjoy your weekend, mummies [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

@felpoo: Me me me! I always wake up at 1 plus to pee! As for sneezing most of the time is evening time leh. When I reached home.

@preciousbabi: I thought we can't take green tea? Can we take?? Cos I quite like green tea. Hehehe..

Valerie: Huh, nobody tell me cannot leh.. But gf told me chrysanthemum cannot coz liang.. I also drink abit sometimes.. Moderate is ok.. Hehe...

@preciousbabi: Huh! I thought chrysanthemum tea can leh! Everytime I eat outside coffee shop I'll order hot chrysanthemum tea. Then when my mil brew chrysanthemum tea she also will pour a cup for me. Lol~ Omg~ Haha!

Valerie: Haha.. Confused.. I think ok ba.. Just don't take too often coz chrysanthemum is consider liang.. I always get fresh red apple juice with 3 ice cubes when eating out now..

Anyone heard old wives tale say preggy must drink cold drinks, if not baby will have little hair??? Haha..

Valerie: My aunt told me de.. Coz another aunt don't dare to take cold drinks when preggy then after that her 3 daughters all have got very little and thin hair.. Haha.. Dunno how true.. Huh, take cold drinks baby will vomit milk? Erm, doctor and my mum also say can leh.. But I try to not drink too cold.. Hehe..

Ok mummies, time to go home and switch to weekend mode.. Enjoy!! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

@preciousbabi: Haha! Er, your aunt and uncle has a lot of hair? I have a lot of hair, I hope next time my baby will inherit my hair. But not the natural curl that I have. Hee hee..

I'm going home soon too. Have a nice weekend ahead! =)

our first baby, thanks... will drop by jp watsons another day. yalor, 2000mg so much, even my poo also become green.

i seldom take cold drinks when i'm preg with my no. 1, indeed she got very very little hair when born, so is the myth true? but but but, her hair starts to grow when she is coming 2 years old. hehe

@myproud: I don't think it's true.. My sil also never drink cold drinks during her 2nd pregnancy and her daughter has got so much hair! She's only 6 months old but her hair can style like Beckham. Lol~

yalor, not true la... many are old wives tales. heard pple saying taking too much spicy stuff will cause bb to have rashes, but i also seldom take spicy stuff during my 1st preg, my girl still very prone to heat rash.

@myproud: I think babies nowadays very prone to heat rash.. Wonder if there's anyway to prevent it or let them have speedy recovery...

It's time to go home! =D

morning mummies...

valerie - good that you dont have..during my first preg, i had it after i gave birth, maybe pushed too hard...

hi val, actually me too.. i didnt understand what that is about.

abit x-rated - basically its the excess skin that's around the anal area, that comes out after poo poo too hard. sometimes it forms inside, that's when ppl complain when they poo and got blood, coz the blood vessel burst inside. the milder case i suppose is when the skin shows up when you touch it, you can feel the some excess skin, like 0.5 cm of it around the anal area. if inflamed then it will hurt when you sit down...which is why ppl use swimming float when they sit...hehe..hope my description is comprehensive enuf.. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

oh well, i'm well today,phew!

@wannabel: Haha! Thanks for the description! I think I know what you meant le. Now I don't have but last time I did have mild one. But actually could it be caused by not drinking enough water? That's why the stool is not soft enough.

hi all, have a nice weekend!

Cold water: I avoid cold water during my 1st prenancy but my baby has lotsa of hair..

dont think the myth is true..

Hi, just came back from taka and got the pigeon sterilizer set, I think we got somewhat influenced when we saw everyone seems to be buying pigeon instead of avent. Anyway we are happy with the purchase cos the kind lady give us additional freebies [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Our First Baby (OFB): Your nick too long. Must shorten for you.. hehe ..

But can pigeon steriliser fit avent bottles and the breast pump? I saw reviews abt pigeon which was pretty good as compared to avent on 2 parts.

1st - easy to dismantle and put back

2nd - descaling not as cumbersome as avent.

However, I will be using avent bottles and breast pump. Do not know whether it fits. I am still hoping if I can buy lots of avent products, see can bundle discount or freebies [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Btw, do they sell beds for toddlers?

I just finished measuring the room to make way for the a new bed for my elder girl. I am going to use back the baby cot for the new born and trying to figure where did I last put all the screws when I dismantle the side rail to convert to toddler bed.

Hi, I am back.

May I know is anyone seeing Dr Henry at Bishan? How is he? I will be seeing him to do CVS next Wed and haven't decided whether to use him as my gynae. I am in my 12th week now.

preciousbabi is 1st time. Mine is the 2nd pregnancy. Generally, I find him good and not with those old school of thots. I do not know for most of the other mummies. In this thread, I think the most popular is Dr Lawrence Ang.

felpoo, thank you for OFB ... sounds like my childhood story book by Roald Dahl. LOL

I believe the pigeon sterilizer can fit avent bottles, and i started to like pigeon sterilizer because their cover is round in shape which means we can put a lot more odd shape stuffs to sterilize together. Avent cover was pretty flat so you can't really put much things on the top section. Btw if you spend $250 at Pigeon they will give you a free toddler cutlery set which they are selling for about $28. In order to top it up, we also bought a baby blanket and towels. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

I didnt hear about Avent giving any additional gifts on top of the package. At pigeon, the kind lady (looks malay or flipino) was very helpful and gave us some freebies so i decided to buy from her. She even gave us 2 packets of baby biscult which me and my wife is going to take each packet and eat. HAHA

Wow... so many of u already bought accessories like milk bottles and sterilizer? Is it really very worth it to get at the Taka fair? But won't the sterilizer's warranty be shortened in a sense as we have to store until next year?

I got a stroller and cot at the Taka fair as these stuffs don't have warranty and I wouldn't want to carry my baby out to buy next year as it is very troublesome. The breast pumps i saw at the fair are very expensive. Medela PSI - $700, Medela freestyle - $799, Avent Duo - $699, Ameda - $399 (cheapest). But the sales person advise me to get only nearer delivery date as the warranty starts once u purchase the pump.

By the way, anyone experiencing itchy nipples? I think mine is expanding quite a lot, and thus my nipples are very very itchy and can see it starts to flake probably due to dry skin or maybe from my scratching.

Any experienced mummies here can help? Apply nipple cream?
