babyhopepath,
my son at last check up is in the 25th percentile, when he is 3 mths plus after his feeding start to stretch. he is about 100 grams short of his ideal weight, so it really doesn't bother me much. But since then he has grown quite noticeably and gotten heavier so I assume he is putting on weight.
Af7680,
as the feeding time stretches, you wont feel as engorged as before when you are breastfeeding every 3 hrly. it is normal. I seldom get engorgement also, breast just feel full near feeding time. Also must drink a lot of water. Usually right after breastfeeding I will down 2 glasses of water, sometimes more. Read somewhere here that to maintain breastmilk amount have to drink up to 14 glasses each day. Latching baby will also help to maintain your supply, so never mind if you feel you don't have much breastmilk, continue to latch so your brain will register that your baby need breastmilk, then will start producing more.
Funny thing is, sometimes the way we think will affect our supply. My sister told me she worries that after she go back work how to give breast milk then who knows, she really stop producing breastmilk right before she start work. So I keep telling myself that my baby needs breastmilk, so I must keep producing.. kind of self psycho.. so far so good, still have supply, so I must continue to psycho myself to produce milk haha.
