baby movements,

if worried, can count kicks/movements. choose any 1 hour in one day and count for 10 kicks/movements. notify gynae if less than 10. that 1 hr you choose must be the same every day

My gynae only say within fr wat time to wat time bb most active so at that timing shd give 10 kicks/movement.

Abt induction, my gynae's stand is it is up to the mother if all goes well but the mother experiencing great discomfort.



In my wk39+ le... my Medical leave all exhausted and covers till this Friday.



Rain on my side (near bukit timah catchment area) is like moving away. Don't think will rain here already.

Based on my gynae's visit last week, BB's not in engaged position yet, though head down liao.



And BB is still moving alot..so much so sometimes i dunno if his leg is pushing against me that causes the "tightening" or is it BH contractions. hehee.

my gynae never asks me to count kicks. just that i read it online. according to that website, we're supposed to know our babies' sleeping patterns, movements, so that's why it says must be the same hour every day. i can never accurately predict my baby's sleeping pattern. sometimes she oversleeps, i think. hahaha!

Looks like have to wait till tomorrow for PD's checkup and see how... We have already packed our clothings just in case BB needs to be hospitalised tomorrow.



Call me pessimistic, i prefer to say prepared for worst case scenario...



Though I do look forward for tomorrow chain of appointments after coping athome for the last three days. After PD, will be my gynae follow up... Now I still have HB go accompany me, next Thurs onwards, HB will have to return to work...think I will go bonkers liaoz....

Ya my edd is 13 July... but this is #2 so normally should be earlier right? That's what I was told... anyway, have been waiting for his GRAND appearance since wk 37 when gynae told me he is in position already... just wondering why he is still holding on wor haha



I feel heavy after walking ard 30minutes...other than that, the pain at my finger joints and ankles is getting unbearable. Water retention there. Arg...

Same here, i also have pain at finger joints and its particularly worse if i have not been moving them for a while (eg when i wake up in the morning). My sis's #2 also came out only a day or two earlier than his EDD, so its not necessary that #2 would be earlier bah.



Actually for counting bb movement, some say 1 hr 10 movement, but some say 1 day 10 movment. Have asked my gynae before. He said as long as bb did move and is moving abt the same everyday, we dont really need to go by the count of tens.

 
Eliss, hopefully your bb's jaundice not too high. But honestly my hb & I regret we didn't send bb to hospital. At home every time bb cries, we turn off the machine. In the end rented machine for 6days & I still find bb very yellow.

suntan/phy... me too... my pelvic area hurt so much when I walk... sigh.. dead tired this wk at work.. hopfully I'll get HL next week and then ML starts... can't get to sleep much now cos I keep running to the toilet and I'm fully awake everytime cos it hurts to even get off the bed.. sigh

 
yea same here, pelvic area hurts whenever i move around, esp at night, shifting from one position to another is a torture, can't really move my body!



Nothing much to do at home, surf net, watch tv, sleep, eat.. and wait for bb to come out haha!



hubby just downloaded final fantasy 8 for me to play, we don't have play station lei.. so can only play the pc game. Such an old game already!! But can kill time hehehe..

Yawn. Also can't sleep well. Urinate + braxton hicks + cramps. Everybody like my hubby, my mil and my son like so busy while me, the lump of rotting flesh, is sprouting mushrooms and growing cobwebs...

As for the bb shower month



Cakes - We plan to order cake package from sweetest moment... use them b4 for my ROM & the feedback are quite good... (personally we think voucher is convenient but not as sincere comparing to giving out actual cake)...anyway most of the cake shop nowaday provide delivery which is also very convenient...



Buffet - We will use neo garden... had used them b4 on our AD... also got good feedback... will split into 2 session too... & will give out the cakes on the same day in order to save the trouble of going to each & individual relatives' place..

Haaaa...Me too.. Hubby so busy at work n with our house but I just rot at home. Also dare not complain bored to him.. Felt guilty tat I m so free n yet he is so busy. All my frens r telling me to enjoy my time now. Next time when bb is out, no such luxury alr.

Hi... anyone of u using medela pump but avent bottles? Do anyone of u heard b4 that medela wide base nipple teat is compatible to avent's one? Cos heard from friend that is not good to let bb use diff kind of teat...

mummies, can i ask those that have experience with breast feeding. how do you tell the difference between feeding & just using the nipple as a pacifier?

babycoco, i'm also wondering the same thing. CL says can tell from the way the mouth moves. I generally listen out for swallowing sounds. but sometimes i'm not sure if she's using me as a pacifier too..

Birth story, welcoming baby Gareth to the world!



830am: Gynae tried to break water bag with her fingers but she says membrane very thick so had to use the hook



9am+: contractions started coming in.. still able to take it



11am+: got really intense already, midwife says im 6cm dilated and ask whether want to take epidural... "last chance". So I agreed because already limit to the pain I can take..



12pm+: Epidural in, however not much effect and I can still feel the strong pain. Asked the midwife and she said because I took it too late.. so will still feel the intense contractions. Asked if I want to up the dosage. At that point I already damn desperate... PLS PLS up the dosage!! Gynae paid a visit and said baby suddenly turn face up... so labour might take awhile more and might be harder to push.



1pm+: 9cm dilated, was pushed to the delivery room.. at this point i am totally numb from my chest down. Couldn't even feel my breasts! This wasn't ideal because I didn't know how to push since I cant feel my muscles. Midwife tried to help by instructing me when to push... hubby also at my side cheering me and telling me to PUSH. Hubby said hair can be seen already ask me to try harder ... but I am already trying to push with all my might although I don't feel the pushing leh.. cos totally numb.



2pm+: Gynae came, altogether with 2 midwives and hubby.. 4 ppl cheering me on to push... i really try my best but really can't feel myself pushing. Gynae suggested I use vacuum cos baby's heartbeat became irregular ... readily agreed.. anything to help him out. With the vacuum , it took me just 2 final pushes and he came out to greet the world. They put baby on me and he came out crying like anything. I also cried cos damn emotional...



all in all, my lesson is that nx time i shall not be a hero. I will ask for epidural early on so that the dosage can be monitored and I wont end up with too much or too little right at the last part.



Btw, I had quite bad side effects of epidural that is why my update here so slow.. was shivering non stop for several hours and vomitting bile (yellow liquid). Because of that, i didn't even dare to carry my son to breastfeed because I just kept feeling like vomitting. Told nurses to feed him FM first and tomorrow morning I will try to BF.



but weighing whether should I take epidural, or the side effects.. i will definitely take epidural cos i realize my pain tolerance quite low!! Can't take the intense contraction when I was 6cm that time..
