Any of ur CL watch tv one? This CL of mine keep saying all her confinement got watch tv when nth to do.. Meaning she damn free.

where got free time 1? bb slp liao she shd wash ur clothes for u, wash up all the bottles n sterilize, wash bb clothes n prepare ur nxt meal etc etc... got free time meh?....the time is not even enuff to use dun tok abt watching tv....mayb when u feed bb u sit dwn n watch awhile lah

 
When choosing confinement lady what are the criteria.

Basic criteria are as follows:

1. Cook confinement food for mommy.

2. Take care of baby i.e. Bath, change diaper

3. Wash mommy & baby cloths

Expected criteria:

1. To know how to use the appliances like bottle warmer etc.

2. Know how long breast milk can be kept under wat condition & where.

3. Able to take own initiative record when breast milk Pumped so that one will know by when must consume.

4. Pls do not be naggy.

5. Must have extensive knowledge since it shouldn't be the first time doing confinement.

6. Do not ask stupid Qns like 'did u feed the baby full enough?'

7. Able to feed & handle baby at night without parents help.

8. When baby continue to cry or make noise like puking should attempt to check baby not continue slp.

9. See parents wake & see baby doesn't mean one can continue to slp.



Above is my criteria, anyone can intro me a CL with above criteria? Gimme contact & name. Will contact once i'm having second child.

Suika: my cloths all maid wash not her. She only wash bb one. Ard 3+ she come in rm cuz v hot & fold cloths or nap. I'm not sure noon time she got watch tv or not. I can't go out of my rm.

She also tend to rush like nth do she faster make my food say confinement can't eat too late. Than all push up night she free. She just walk out say I go fownstair anything call me. Either eat than watch tv or straight watch tv. She keep saying last time she always get to watch tv trying to say now also wanna watch lor. I nv comment anything she still go watch like her hm.

 
Ceres, you can try my CL for your second one.. she's Singaporean.. maybe a bit more expensive.. PM you her contact. She's not very strict.. will tell you what u're suppose to do but if you insist of not to do, she won't insist too.. can negotiate one.



Oh.. my BB's belly button there also bleed when her umbilical cord dropped. PD gave some anticeptic powder to put. PD say dun use the alcohol swap to wipe, jus put the anticeptic powder. You may wanna bring ur BB to see a doc. Just in case kana infection.

Noknok: cord drop liao got bleed cannot use the wipe? i still using wor...the blood very fast dried up n heal then we juz gentle wipe everyday

 
btw....who delivered at MtA n got the freebies of the 1yr bb photo frame n doesn't wants? i no mind buying over....coz my boi time they no give....got the MtA logo on it....i wish to get 1 for him

Jaclyn - I also got lumps on my both breast. Hard to dissolve e lump. Now got little yield when pump n bb not latching enuf to clear for me. Arghhhhh

umbilical cord:

My bb did not bleed when drop. after 4 days, ytd, the 'du qi' bleed.. I shock lor call KKH they say is ok just dap with cool boiling water.. tdy i going see doc for jaundice maybe enquire doc.

 
lumps.. wat i do is push e lumps towards nipple when BB sucking. if pumping then push first then pump... usually will take a few times of pump, push b4 e block duct is clear.. suddenly will see milk flow out when e block duct is cleared w e pump

 
Phy: If no confinement lady guve in fm is ok. If still got then dun. But try BF until maternity ends?



Vivi: slowly. Pump & latch, i took 2wks to soften my breast. cause i midnight the most pump once or twice =X so very slow & rarely latch =X.

serene: when i read ur post last nite i was crying! thanks for ur encouragement. i hope after my treatment today i can BF within a short period. i did think of giving up after this because the pain is the worst torture i have gone through. i am afraid it will happen again after i BF.



Jaclyn: i think urs is just blocked ducts? if there is a hard lump and no redness, i dun think will be as jia lat as mine...



i am so worried now. going to see the breast surgeon in a few hr's time.. last nite, one side of the lump suddenly popped when i was sleeping and the pus was flowing all over. i spent a few hrs in the toilet pressing out all the pus. until now, the pus not completely cleared yet but there is a scary big hole! i dunno if i also need surgery to mend that hole in my breast. i am scared... even more scared than the time i know i have to give birth..

SK: Hang in there babe! Yar mine is just a hard lump that is very painful to touch but so far no redness. Only redness comes from when I press the lump myself very hard to try n clear it away.

Keep us updated.. stay strong! Think of your baby throughout ..

read your post on FB account. why not sign up an online photo album like google picasa wjere you can upload baby's photos and set as private. your MIL can give this link to her friends/relatives to look at photos. in time to come you can even delete this album and they can't see the photos liao, rather than infringing into your FB account.

Sunflower: 16 days more! Now trying hands on taking care BB trying change diaper now.



Talking abt those breast issue.. I just realise my areola is brownish so notice some red spots i try to squeeze got milky thing come out. abit only. If talking about pain not really pain. am i also affected or that is ducts? milk? Cause i not very frequent in pumping.. & often wait till breast very hard than pump. This kind of issue should see normal doctor or?

Suika: my MIL is the same as ur PIL!!! She calls herself “ah ma” and call my mother “popo”. Now my mom is taking care of me & bb during the confinement. And at first my mother call herself “ah ma”. That is how I call my maternal side granny as well. Then that day my MIL came and was carrying the bb then when she pass the bb to my mom, she said “ok now let popo carry u”. Then my mom said since ur MIL wants me to be address as “popo” then ok loh. So now my mom trying to address herself as “popo” to my bb. But it’s quite funny cos she would usually say “ah ma” first then realized it is wrong then change to “popo”. Was quite upset with my PIL yesterday. They said some relative gave us something and they wanna bring over. Then hubby told them to come in the evening cos he working. But then they suddenly came at 3+pm. When they came bb was sleeping then they still went into the room. Then in less than 5 min bb was awake liao loh. Then in less than 5 min later, my PIL left and leaving me & my mom to take care of bb loh. My mom commented that my PIL are more like guests than like family, come for less than 10 min then go off like that.



Hershey: how do u shave ur bb hair?? I heard then when bb 1 month old and 4 months old need to shave their hair is it? Don’t think we dare to shave bb’s hair ourselves haha. So far we only dare to cut his fingernails while he is peacefully sucking on my breast.



Ceres: no need scare of poo poo. Last time I also thot I would be scared of poo poo but when the time comes to change his diaper, u will naturally do it. No time to be scare I guess cos u would be too busy trying to change his diaper ASAP as he would be crying =) You & ur hubby can do it one, dun worry!

 
My baby (3weeks old) seems to have sore throat. He sound diff when he cried. Voice changed. I don't know what to do now. My mum don't feel is necessary to bring him see doc.



Beside this, he often sneeze. (confirm not cold in my room)

His eyes often got the 眼屎。All these issit common? He is down with flu? Too heaty?

 
Rachel, dirt in his eyes and sneeze is normal. someone posted the following before:



Sneezing and Phlegm:

My baby sneezes very often. Is she having a flu? She also breathes heavily and makes lots of gurgling noises. How can I clear the phlegm?



- Sneezing is the way your baby blows her nose. It is a reflex reaction and will occur 10-20 times a day.



Mucus is produced in our nose all the time. This helps to trap the dust and dirt that we breathe in. In the adults, we blow our nose several times through the day to keep our nostrils clear. Your baby is too young to do this. She has to get rid of the mucus by frequent sneezing.



You need to bring your baby to the doctor only if his sneezing and noisy breathing is accompanied by frequent cough or fever.





Eye Discharge:

My baby has lots of yellowish eye discharge. My mother says he is "heaty". Is that true?



- No, he is not "heaty" and giving lots of water won't help. The cause is a blockage of the tear duct. Tears are produced and drained into the nose through a small channel under the skin called the tear duct. There is one duct for each eye. The dried-up tears form the yellow discharge. This is harmless and the discharge will not affect vision or damage the eye.



Usually, a blocked duct will clear itself in 2-3 weeks and the eye discharge will disappear. In a few babies, the duct may stay blocked for many months. No treatment is necessary unless the eye develops infection. You know it when the white of the eye becomes red and the eyelid is swollen.

even if u dun wanna bf, u still gotta get the pus out ma right? dun cry.. i know u are very upset over ur infection.. if i were u, i will be too..



i remember after discharge, i have this infection on my leg too.. because of 16 hours on the hospital bed and not allowed to move, i developed an infection. a small pimple pus that developed into a 10cm swollen lump. then dr say if the pus dun go off, have to cut a bit to take out the pus.. took antibiotics also no use..



then i tell myself,,, nothing is more impt than recovering cause when i recover, then i can fully focus on celeste. so pick up the courage and got the pus out..



i also remember going to toilet to push all the pus out.. it was scary too.. but then when i recovered... i felt so blessed that all has come to an end and i can take care of my darling again.

Rachel: Same.. Mine also & rm got aircon. everyday sneeze 7 - 8 times. Just now in a row sneeze 4 times lor. Also not cold leh dunno why.



Irene: Will try my best. Haha.. I dun really wanna disturb hubby cuz he need to work no maternity leave for him ar. But hubby very understanding, his willing to help out la.



Nowadays my Boy like to make noises like "ah, eh, ah ah ah eh eh eh". Now only day 12 so fast make noise? Than also like to use all his strength to cry kick & swing arm.. How to stop BB doing these?

 
ARGH! I wanna complain abt my CL.



Actually she has been quite good so far but just some habits I dun like.



And tdy, my MIL found a stalk of leaves (dunno what is it called) in my kitchen & asked the CL what is it. The CL said she plucked it from outside & intend to put it into the bath for BB to bath in tmrw....cuz my BB has not been sleeping at night and it's causing her sleepless nights!!



She said cuz few days back have a pregnant woman (our insurance agent) came to our hse and said some BB dun like pregnant women, etc those superstitious stuff lah. So BB will get "mang zhang".



I listened liao damn pissed lor but didn't say anything. Will wait til HB is back then discuss and let HB tell her we are not into such practices.



Firstly, I'm a catholic, I dun "pantang" such stuff.



Secondly, she never even bother to ask us if we are ok with it and just wanted to go ahead. Lucky, my MIL found the leaves.



Thirdly, it's her job as a CL to look after BB @ night. So if she can't tahan, then I'll take care of BB at night liao.



Sorry for the long post...but just need to vent. My poor BB...

Have your dark pigmentation at the underarm areas disappear already? I still have mine, I know its hormones and what so ever but its still a pain for wearing sleeveless tops. I try to scrub it but its not getting lighter...



any remedy anyone??

 
ceres -- swaddle bb when sleeping.. so they wont wake up from startle relfex..



my bb ee ee ah ah at week 2 too.. now she got worse.. haha....

mine is lightening liao.. but it will take some time.. cause when i delivered my #1 also like tat.. took some months to fully gone lei.. althou i use the whitening deordorant and whitening cream also no use la.. haha.. so i didnt even try this time round.. jus let it lighten by it self

dun angry.. i know how u feel.. there are pple teaching me 101 remedies to cure the battle with bb.. lol..



CL is wrong for doing such things on ur bb cause we dunno if bb is comfy with that.. im a buddhist and i am one of those who will do that if situation really requires me to do that.. but first.. i wont do it on other pple bb..sometimes some bb are very gao wei with pple doing such things and will become very gao zeh one...



and yes, i agree.. its CL job to take care of bb... hmm.. why not u talk to her first.. ask her issit she tired? need rest? maybe let her sleep longer in the day while u take care? and let her know that u dun believe in all these and hope she let u know beforehand..



if im not wrong... she must have plucked (xia liu - hokkien).. its like a holy plant la.. thou no harm to anyone.. but still.. u are the parent and u have ur beliefs.. its not right to do that..

 
i think put eye drop is because bb tear duct is not developed yet so eye drops is to help bb clear the eyes (like tears).. for me, celeste also got that at first.. i use cotton ball and boiled cool water to clean whenever i see it.. then one day, when she cry, got tears.. and the yellow thing jus disappear by itself...

My MIL also "scared", say dun tell her off 1st, wait the CL anyhow treat BB, hehee. So now hv to keep a closer eye on CL :p
