i use medela to store milk only.



Like u tracey, my pacifier is avent 0-6mths. that one gd, alot breathing holes n the top part pop out so won't make BB nose flat.

 


My boy's timing to drink is like alarm clock. When its 2 hrs, he will auto wake up for his feed. So when its nearing 2 hrs, CL will bring out my BM from the fridge and put in a cup of hot water to heat it up. Mostly when its done, my boy just started to cry for his milk, thus he dun need to cry for long for his feed.



As for bottles, i am using Avent.

Been 2 weeks le and still on-going but starting from yesterday, can see that the flow is considerately lesser. Hopefully will finish within the next 1 week.



Btw, do you mommies do e-invite cards for your bb full month party? Any samples to share? I am designing my own, but not sure what wordings to put inside...

the ergo carrier which I saw in this thread before, is it good? where can I get it?

 
Suntan, same here... My bb will auto wake up 2 hrs later for milk during the day. And she is drinking 60ml only which I think is very little for 1 mth old baby. But her weight is ok so I didn't worry much.



Hershey, u are so lucky... Ur bb can sleep throu the night already.

 
Eliss: that time i also asked on this and they introduce egro.. think SG got some places sell but quite exp wor.. $100+.. Me still considering. I think forum got BP? any mommy advice?

i bought a black cybex 2. go, arrgghh now looking at the pic i think red looks so nice! haha! but if ever i have a boy in the future, i want the carrier to be black not red and pink. so bought black..

Haven't tried oh.. cuz can only be used from 3 months till approx. 5 years old! just now i tried to put on, i do think that is quite big! hubby said it looks more for toddlers..



Now tempted to buy bb bjorn! the white synergy looks so cool rite..

I wash my hair everyday too but only at times blow dry. I also hv 2 fans in my room blowing directly @ me, which I'll on during the day time. At night, I'll sleep with the aircon...and during meal times, I'll hv the living room fan blowing at me too....so I'm worse! Think next time will suffer. hehee



Jastine>> I succumbed to using pacifier for my BB when he's a week old. Cuz like your BB, he also show "sucking" movement, eben when it's not feeding time and will make "noise", so sometimes we just use paci to "dong" for the time being.

 
Any1 can share e bb schedule n also hw many times they cry? My 1 mth 4 day old has been cryin alot. Dunno y. I dun remember my #1 was like didi

 
Pacifier- both my boys started early as e old folks taking care of them said rat cryin is not good as wind will get in them n be collicky . Also boys shld refrain from cryin if not their male part will be diff size [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

 
Serene - used to be slight crying at nite . These days started in e afternoon to nite. I suspect is collic. Sigh due to this my #1 was neglected n his sleep was disturb.

 
Hai... today, my boy is very cranky. Hard to pacify today.



I don't feel well so ask my CL to help me out tonight cause I don't think hubby can take care of my boy on his own plus my boy today is really too cranky.

this will sound quite ridiculous.... any of your parents/ CL believe in this?



When i comment sth good about bb.. "Her schedule is quite good!" or "very good hor? She is gaining weight!" etc.



Then my CL will say "Don't say lei........" (in chinese) "不要这样讲咧！” I cannot take it u know.. i am so angry! Then my mama said cannot give good comments, must be humble and give bad comments like.. "very knotty hor....." "很坏蛋哦！” one time she even said "这么可怜hor? 没有人要你啊？” hubby and I heard this and we were not happy.



but then, why they can praise her and hubby and I cannot? sometimes CL will say "pandai~" (means clever), by right also cannot say right?



DOUBLE STANDARD!!!



Just now when i commented that her schedule was quite good and when CL asked me to stop saying i really couldnt take it i just purposely hit my cup with the spoon, then my mama turned her head and looked at me i pretended nothing happen.... in the kitchen, she asked me "how? tough or not being a mum?" i told her.. "ok ah.. tough only when u all tell me i cannot say good things about baby!"



Really irritating. other than this, my CL is really good.

 
shann -- the pangtang thing is true.. jus few days back.. hubby say bb will wake up and sleep at 11pm then i can go do this and that.. then i ask him to keep quiet.. then who knows.. bb got super cranky and didnt sleep till 230am.. i told him.. whatever it is, dun say in front of bb.. we can talk in the kitchen about this but not in front of bb.. keke..



i know what u mean.. but i personally experience the pang tang -ness.. so now.. i always tell my bb.. "chou ting ting" (smelly ting ting).. or "naughty bb".. something like tat..



after hubby got a taste of the after effect, he went to tell his boss.. and his boss also tell him not to say good things in front of bb.. keke...

Shann Yang, it's pantang lor...better to believe then regret.... saying them clever it's ok but not they good etc...hard to explain in words but i believed it's true lor....coz when my boi started to say mum mum (eat) my hb said infront of him saying he very noisy ask him to ssssshhhh....n from then onwards he've not spoken another word, not even mum mum anymore till recently then i managed to make him speak a few words....but then again he still not really toking till now n he's already 19mos liao



so it's up to u to believe in this....the above is my true experience so now he comment again i'll scold him off

 
Any mummies experienced this?



I keep trying to let my boy practice latching (cos he dunno how to latch initially). After he got the correct latch and managed to suckle for milk, less than 5 mins (most is only 3 mins) he start to struggle and cry and unlatch himself....making himself tensed and angry cos he is super hungry. I latch him again and same thing after 2 - 3 mins he start to be cranky again.



Does this happen to anyone? How to help calm him down? Cos of this, I usually managed to latch him not more than 15 mins...roughly 10 mins the most. Sigh!!

I think might be true now.. i just said her feeding schedule at night is quite good rite... think she is more cranky than usual today wor haha!

if I breastfeed /pump out my milk 3 times aday, will I still have period?



Coz I heard that fully breastfeeding mum wont have period,izzit true?

 
yah... Bb really cannot say one... Like today i told my CL in the morning that his night routine seems better these 2 days, today he super cranky. From morning 6.30am till now, i think he only manage to get 3 hours of deep sleep. The rest are very light ones. Always crying today. Regretted commenting abt his sleeping pattern.

my bb oso v cranky tonite....fed her liao n she oni slept for 1hr then wana drink again n we gave her BM instead coz oni 8.30pm fed her FM n 9plus she wans again so dare not feed too much but she no slp....i was pumping so can't attend to her...when i'm done then i went over to see her n finally realised wad happened....my baobei wana suckle then can slp...after half hr i finally gave in let her suckle for less then 5mins oni she slept liao....how har? i'm gg back work in 1.5mths time if she keeps on like that then i'll b so tired....other then pacifier any idea if got other ways?

 
Sito: no idea. My milk supply dropped! Period come alot.. Maybe really got link. Used to pump 100ml both side even after bf but now... 60ml after bf or less.

My breast not full also ard 3hrs.. The above result I got is pumping after another 3hr+.

Just to check how many mommies have or are gg to bring their boys to do the circumcision? How much is it n hows the after care like?

Wow, I pumped ard 130am & now breast think still not really that full.. Last time 3hr only I pain until wake lor.. Dunno wat is going on...

Does anyone sing lullabies to your baby before sleeping? I wanted to, but I realise I don't quite know the words, except rock-a-bye-baby. Anyone has any favourite lullabies?



And has anyone ordered from Choz for first month? Any recommendations or reviews? How about door gifts? Is anyone planning to make small door gifts for your guests? I'm thinking of doing postcards with baby's photos and making some cookies. Buying containers from Phoon Huat. Has anyone seen any suitable containers previously? Cos now doing confinement, can't run out just like that!

I heard that regardless is comment good or bad things, can't say in front of bb. Some babies very pantang one.

But I still like to comment. Hahaha! Very hard to remind myself not to say in front of bb leh.

 
Question!



1) Using the converter to pump milk directly to avent bottle and transferring of milk from the pump bottle to avent bottle. Any difference?



2) Avent VIA cup need to sterilise? Because i saw the box indicate only sterilise the lid and adaptor if using but did not mention the cup.

 
suika: I have similiar observations earlier. my bb will change his latch position or fidget after five min or so. it could be due to slow milk flow and they are impatient. try to do breast compression on your breast and see if it helps. use your thumb and index finger to compress on the top and botton of your breast. milk should come in faster flow if bb is contented after tt, then shld be slow milk flow. another thing to watch out to confirm slow milk flow is if bb is just sucking with little swallowing.
