for now, to train our baby boys to pee, it starts off with sitting on potty like the girls or if not can hold the potty to his peepee and do the pee *whistle*. This might works.
but i think the best time to start training is after 1.5-2yo onwards when they can understand.
As wat akk say, ask the dad to show him how to do it like big boy, this somehow helps too.
Now my #1 can do it himself, he knows to hold his peepee and urine into the toilet bowl.
Before that, i get his dad to show him how he did it and i myself also teach him how to hold his peepee to urine.
After he's done, have to praise him and say that he's a big boy now and can do it himself. He will be very happy.
For the start, occasionally he will still wet his pant, but after that he knows.
For urine training for boys, its rather tough and might take longer to be fully diaper free and that explains why my #1 is still on diaper during bedtime.
Most important, don stress the boy, if he's really not into it, then start later also fine.
