Hi Carol,
Im just quite sick of hearing whenever got issue, will drag in the IFC topic. I'm sure most FTWM who send their baby to IFC will dun feel good hearing all these, so its good to keep the opinion sensitive. I feel that this is personal choice we choose according to our life & situation we are in. People who can be SAHM and enjoy it, good for you, i wont criticize abt it, cos everything in life got pros & cons.

Remember when Chloe got HFMD & we actually met at the clinic when yuyu go for her jab? Chloe was having fever then, and after that i was concern how chloe is doing and of cos i observe yuyu in case she might get, but i do not say much cos i know u are stress up and probably worried about yuyu too. And honestly i feel that the social responsibility keep get bring up and seems to be saying i am not Socially responsible. Irony is, actually the dimsum thing i was intend to do a small group so can chat easier and less baby less hygiene issue. Big group is like childcare... end up was big group, it was fun but i phobia with future issue like tat. Sigh some things FATED, maybe its a sign for me to less involve.

Immunity is individual, i hv been very worried abt nn cos she & yuyu keep touching eachother. In fact reyes had no contact with yuyu, so i think should not pinpoint that it must be from yuyu. If yuyu is not a baby, she will be so hurt. We should teach our child what is right or wrong or truth. I really appreciate Ainsley, as much as she is worried, she keep trying to console me back that I do not mean it.

HFMD
Sigh, actually really can get it from anyone. The last time, my no. 1 kenna cos we went travelling with my cousin's family to Shanghai. Didn't bring my no. 1 who was only 11 months old cos it was winter and we were afraid it will be too cold for her. Who knows my cousin's elder gal developed HFMD after arriving in Shanghai (they didn't know fever and mouth ulcer = HFMD, thought it was just heatiness so they didn't tell us)

So both me and hubby caught the virus from a 3 year old (we didn't have fever but we had quite a few small mouth ulcers a few days after coming back to Sg). I only suspected something was wrong when no. 1 developed high fever (no mouth ulcers and red spots yet) and we went to the PD. PD also surprised cos my gal is being looked after at home. We felt so guilty too cos never bring her to Shanghai, end up still bring virus back to infect her. But the most surprising thing is my cousin said her gal had not attended school for 1 week before the shanghai trip so she also don't know where her gal got HFMD from. She guessed maybe from church cos she goes to Sunday school. Until now, we are also not very sure. :p

Anyway, all I'm saying is the virus is very infectious, and in a way 防不胜防. So, as long as we are socially responsible, never bring our kid out when we know they have symptoms, 问心无愧 ok already. Let's not be too hard on ourselves, no mummy will want our kids to be sick nor other people's kids to be sick ya?

ivy, if nn is the one having the fever u think ains will hot anot? confirm will one. maternal instinct de. all mummies will b worried for their babies and of cos we shouldnt be over paranoid cos hfmd is not like hiv rite? but still germs do spread easily. no one is pinpointing yuyu anymore cept for your own mind. she so ke lian to be sick oredi we blame her for? only her poor mummy kept harpin on the issue. to clear the record i already told you that i m not labelling yuyu as a viral transmitter but cos she was around the area and my boy had the fever hence my worry. when u arrive you took my bag away without notice and simply plonk yuyu into the high chair that i had wiped for reyes. next time go anywhere must rem to wipe for yuyu before putting her in. if really reyes kena from yuyu then i only had myself to blame to put him back in after he woke up without wiping the high chair a second time.

wrt ifcs, dun u realise that no one is suggesting to the rest of the mummies to change ifc or drop ifc idea cept to u? cos u kept telling us bout yuyu falling sick so mummies were helpful enuf to suggest to u alternatives. in the end we became insensitive people in your opinion? well after liling's post u said you wont post anymore la blah blah. then u happy song song oredi you start to post again. sometimes nonid to be too emo bout life. must noe how to let go and move on. if not u will think ur life forever drama de. mayb what i post now will make u drama again and wan to leave smh blah blah. well i hope not. just my v personal opinion bout the issue. we haf all moved on. havent u?

Luwen, nw I become more balance again cos noon I latch more on right n night more on left. Then normal time, I see which side more full. Haha. By my right seems to b still the dominating one. Bt overall ss seem drop leh.

Carol, the fan is ok. Gt tower one leh. I wana gt the tower one oso. Bladeless, dun need keep cleaning the blades. Haha. U go courts gt tower one. Best only gt the table fan. My hb like Cos he said decorative. Lol..

Luwen, for ur info, ainsley is worried, im worried for nn, if it happen she will be upset with me but i think it will be different scenarios. I've communicate with her, and she told me she know im dun mean it to happen. Liling and me had talk abt it, so she know that at that pt i was very tired and thus was very emo abt it and we had move on. As for you, well if u think u had not been insensitive, then ok lor. Its been awhile that yuyu fall sick so i dunno what give you that impression. And i did not ask for any opinion on ifc or illness recently leh. I feel that i hv been objective too.

btw I did not know the high chair was wipe for reyes. At that pt i had to put yuyu down cos my back cannot take it anymore, thats it, not on purpose to take the high chair or touch ur bag ya if u are affected by it.

The reason why i came back to post is really there is a lot of mommies who i hope to keep the friendship & keep in touch. Eh i dunno did i post till song song lah. But mostly to share about semi-solids for those who keen to know. Emo abt life... eh maybe im in the creative industry haha, ok this is a joke. Or u talking abt this hfmd topic? Oh im just replying to carol. im not leaving smh, im just saying post less and also got to be careful what i post.

So i think after this issue, i feel unless we put our children in glass cage, then i guess its hard to prevent that from falling sick time to time. So the take away message this time is build their immunity, very impt, i learn from aunty lileen. So consider moving on to next topic?

Aiyo ivy, forum is for sharing joy and worries abt raising up our babies becos we happen to be in the same path delivering at abt the same time. No need to get worked up over small issues or take things too personal. Let's just enjoy this facilities! Relax man!
 
Luwen, definitely heart pain lor. She cried so much cos she cannot latch as I was still BFing then. Lost so much weight. And she is the skinny type, not like Raelynn. 1 year old still only 8kg type. We are also super guilty lor. Cos I never bring her to Shanghai to enjoy, yet I bring back virus to infect her.

Recently, my bro also kenna HFMD. I knew he was having fever (but don't know for what reason. My bro will get fever when he's heaty type) but I still went to my mum's place for dinner. After he sms me that it was HFMD, I am also very scared and blamed myself. Why I know he got fever still never change my usual Sunday dinner plans. Thought it will be ok as long as my gals don't go near him mah. Those few days, I started to give Raelynn childlife echinacea drops in her water (usually reserve for Cheh Cheh), check her temperature etc lar. Luckily she never kenna HFMD. Or else, my hubby also may blame me cos he did ask me whether we should still go to my mum's.

Like Luwen said, I think it's very natural for emotions to run high when it comes to our kids cos it's our maternal instinct mah. I'm sure every mummy would rather we fall sick and suffer ourselves than our darlings. But cannot lor, sooner or later they will still fall sick despite our best efforts. Part and parcel of building up their immunity.

So like Ivy, I can only comfort myself, hope and pray that after each illness they will be stronger and more resistant to illness and virus lor.

Let's hope all our kids stay healthy and they invent a vaccine for HFMD SOON! I'll be the first one to queue for it.

Tmr going Kia Kia, sat going friends house to play lantern, watch Dora live at Forum and go Ikea take photoshoot. Sunday going Sesame Street concert and birthday party. Busy busy!!

My no. 1 conceived in early May 07, born early in end Jan 08 so still Pig baby. If not, she would have been Rat baby cos after CNY or Li chun. But then, babies born near CNY very exp for Daddy and Mummy so unless you don't mind, best to avoid. :p
 
Roger, because we are lor. Hahaha. :D They just take photo of us on the white sofa, then photoshop and 'tampa' us against the living room backdrop then pasted the hard copy on a catalogue and give to us.

Bo bian lor, I'm not free on Sunday afternoons so cannot get nice nice free photoshoot from you like the other lucky mummies. :p

Calamari, I thought the theme is very 'cheem' cos it's about outer space. My gal only knows sun, moon and star hor, so I really don't know if she will understand anything. But everytime she sees the Barney ad on tv, she will be very excited so I give it a chance lor. Hope that as long as she sees Barney prancing on stage, she will be happy. Haha.

Shokel: ya lor, I super kiasu, now almost hit 50packs @ home Liao. By the way, cold storage is having 2 packs of active baby new version 68 pieces per pack for size m @ 39.85 till 16 sep.

Chawanmushi: mash silky toufu with fork, mix with minced fish or meat, minced veg eg carrot, pumpkin, spinach, then put the all mixture in small bowl n steam.

Beef pasta: boil a pot of water, put a table spoon of bellmay pasta grains and boil till soft, don't add oil! Once soften, drain the pasta and pour cold water, and drain again for later usage. Skin 1 tomato, dice it, dice a bit of pumpkin, steam minced beef, tomato and pumpkin together, then blend it till fine texture, then pour the mixture onto the pasta and serve, u may wish to blend the pasta together with the mixture if u afraid bb can't chew.

calamari, her fever frm 38.5 went dwn to 37.5 liao. i gave her ibrofen. btw she is still her usual active self,dunno to be happy or nt sia??!! whr got mummy happy wen bb is having fever hor:p can eat,can play oni at nite cant zzz well lor..i hope its a jus a teething fever

Carol: glad to hear that bb Chloe is better! I din put egg as pd advise me to give after 1 yr. Anyway, the minced fish is sticky enough to add as egg substitute. I tried fish pasta as well, but I use sweet corn and fish to make the sauce like cream based pasta. Bb loves it too.

Anyone can suggest any other fish beside cod, threadfin and salmon? I don't knw what fish to buy Liao.

canopy,can use normal fish like sea bass, sea bream all. dun giv too much cod,salmon,pomfret cos high mercury level. can giv normal white fish. i will buy watever fish tats fresh,occasionally salmon n cod. but i kind of dun like cod cos v fishy le. i buy from cold storage wan . i sticking to fresn market fish now:p
 
yunzz : hahah, me not pampers expert la, just feel that pampers &amp; mamypoko are the best after trying so many brand, and since there's promo, buy &amp; stock up lo. =p
According to my cousin who has bought the 2 packs new versions of size M (68 piecesx 2packs)from cold stprage, the new one is slightly thinner. She prefers the older model.
Old and new models r about the same price without promo, but with promo, the older model is a abt 2-3cents cheaper per piece as i reckon they are trying to clear stock.

Damn sianz, hubby working these 3 days, alone @ home with bb. =(
 
Carol, r u buying cod fish from cold storage? I think their cod fish is not v fresh, that is why fishy.

carol : thanks! I use cod fish cos me &amp; hubby like to eat so MIL will help to buy a fair bit from wet market each time. I went supermart today, and bought threadfin &amp; grouper. Should be able to eat grouper right? 1st time using that fish for bb. =)
