pauline, i stayed at riverview before.. room is not bad, seemed newly refurbished; but the location is about 1km++ away from the shopping area. The walk is kinda long.. can't rem if it was near mrt station cos i went w tour group last time.

Was it near Shilin night market? Also, can you remember if the room is noisy eg. can hear people outside your room in the corridor or sounds of taps being turn on or door opening and closing next door? I'm a light sleeper and hate being woken because I thought I hear people talking or knocking on my door. :p
 
pauline, not near shilin night market too.. the shopping belt tt it's near is xi men ting (if i nvr get the name wrong).. the tw version of shibuya.
 
Calamari - your supply still good le.. i only can get about 400ml pump 2 x at office at nite i latch her so dun knw how much.

genesis - I only let baby drink formula when go out but she doesn't seems to like it. I give her S26-promil.

Yuki - I also target till 1 yrs leh but seem like not enough cannot liao.

May -ya lor sometime not enough sleep, not enough water also no milk de, i realise.

mummies - Kiv me too at roger slot ya..
 
manunited: yes. camera equipment in hk is generally cheaper than singapore. but u normally don't get warranty coverage for the camera though. not very risky because cameras don't break that easily but some people might not want to take the risk.
 
pauline: what kind of activities do u have in mind? the hotels around ximending are generally small 3-4 stars one. i stayed in wonstar at my first visit. its right beside the ximending area. its abt 15min walk to the mrt. shilin night mkt is at jian tan station. u can visit abt 4-5 nite mkts at 1 go if u got stamina.
 
Hmmm I'm doing pork broth for beng tmr... Wish mr luck!! Do u think I can intro 2. New food at one go? Hmmm... Oh yea forgot to mention last week I try yogurt! It a success! Now beng love yogurt....
This week pork n onion... Next week cheese!!! I finally pluck the courage to purchase the cheese!

Manunited: my bb drinks a lot n eats average but not chubby chubby. Generally bm babies are leaner.

Roxy, I'm thinking of mainly eating at night markets and of course shopping. Preferably with children wear and toys instead of just ladies wear cos nowadays I hardly need new clothes and shoes since I'm a SAHM. :p For hubby's sake, it will be great if they have shops selling english books, dvds, and collectible toys nearby. Asking for the impossible? ;P

pauline>I stayed at 3 different hotels in Taipei, all near ximending. They are TS hotel (http://www.tshotel.com.tw/), wonstar (http://www.wonstar.com.tw/Zhonghua/en/index.php-option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=43&lang=tw.htm) and royal castle (http://www.royalcastle-tpe.com.tw/en/intro.php). I like the first 2 but don't really like royal castle. All are 3-4 star hotels. Quite basic but then I only need a clean room to sleep in that's in a convenient location. A lot of shopping and food at ximending and can actually walk to taipei main station from there. Quite convenient to the night markets by the mrt.

Think you can get cheap children's wear at wufenpu. more expensive clothes and toys should be available at the department stores in xinyi. but I didn't see much english books although there is a big records store in ximending that might have english dvds.
 
roger>eslite is great! I spent quite long when I was there but they mainly have chinese books, ya?

V yummy with good cuts of meat and free flow of haagen dasz ice cream. there's also a carrefour within walking distance where you can buy some neccessities and food stuff back for relatives and friends. becos its catering to locals, we found the foodstuff there cheaper than buying from the tourist shops. :p

also, after you have booked your airflight and tix, can bring them down to Taiwan's tourist association at shenton way and they will give you a free gift. can pick up maps and other info while you are there too.

don't forget to try the hotspring while you are there. quite shiok.

Pauline- yes u goto try their hotspring! N go cut ur hair at ximenting salon. More professional than local. N slightly cheaper! The salons there aso super big... Can also buy Hp ( those w/o contract n they have all sort of brands... Aso brands fm japan Hp- kawaiiiiiiiiiiiii

Oh, I stay at ts hotel when I was there too! Convenient and cosy enough! Erm, gathering cfmed? West side arh ? Heehee
 
Hmmz for e children's clothes, most of e stores in wufenpu sell in bulk (wholesale). So only can buy those on e sale racks. I hardly can find any children clothes when i was in taipei in apr leh

mstan, yah.. xmas baby. It was very festive @ the hospital when he first came out.. but now the annual headache would be holding his bday party while everyone is busy w xmas parties.
 
Ling lee, thks bt hor, I really dun find her sweet when she kept waking up last night n didn't slp fr 2+ to 4am! Sigh~ really ah.. Duno y till now still keep waking up. Till Cnt tahan n put her beside me. Then she looked at me, turned n toss abit n finally pat her to slp..
