einnoc, no need to wait for long, u can call to make appointment first but u must remember u need to have patience to see results from taking chinese medicine. so is like u can ask for 2 weeks medicine then must re-visit and re-visit to check progress.

Jelly cake: I know of a stall that does jelly cake. Its located at beauty world, inside the food centre. Bought from the aunty b4 and its nice and cheap. Dun think she sell it online.

Planning for #2: Me & hb very much wanted to have #2, in fact hb keep asking me when can we have #2? But dun think will be that fast coz i cant handle alone. I will go bonkers! LOL!

Menses: Me still on total latch.. Menses not yet report too.

1xMummy, ya.. decided on the cake and venue already! as for budget of party, not fixed yet cos we haven't decide on how many relatives to invite. At the moment, only inviting friends.. It's more of an adult party than kids' party cos most of my friends got no kids. have u planned on where to do?
 
Hi Ainsley, Jenny, I'm not an expert but just giving my 2 cents worth.

If the cake is sponge cake, it cannot hold heavy stuffs. The cake will sinked.
That's why usually for cake topper, it is make of plastic and light material.
From the look of the precious moments figurines, they are made of clay right?
Then it will be too heavy already, will risk the cake sinking.
Unless it is butter cake which are heavier and can hold more weight.

Shokel, why don't you into the porridge?

I bought the Eu Ren Sang Brown rice si shen powder and add a teaspoon into ashton's porridge everyday juz before the porridge is well cooked.
 
Talking abt planning for bb.. My menses also very buey zhun want ley.. So its hard to know o date. Shun qi zi ran ba.. I miscarriage my 1st, after that went for holiday in Maldives and got it there. Lil' shay is made in Maldives! Haha.. So holiday is the key to getting preggy!

Tips to share: My gynae taught me, once u notice gluey transparent discharge (like jelly).. That's ur o date! It will only last for 2-3 days. I notice that too.. Hope it helps!
 
Re: maid

My maid is an indon who can speak english and eat pork. So far she is pretty good.
She is humble and easier to 'teach' and not so prideful.

I have no luck with Fili maid.
LAst year had 3 of them and all give me tonnes of problems!
They are also full of ego and pride.
Difficult to teach them the way I want things to be done.
 
Those of you going for Indon maid, try to get one who has SMA qualification which is like our junior college education.
They can understand English better.
But maids with this higher quad are very limited.

Usually they only have SMP which is like our Secondary education.
These are the ones who have problems even understanding English.

But I asked the auntie at eu ren sang, she told me that was what some people did cause I told her very troublesome to just cooked the powder.

So far, ashton seems alright eating it this way, at least the taste not so strong.
 
Ainsley, I don't have any cake topper myself cause usually I make fresh cream cake.
For fondant cake, I would use cutter.

I do have mickey mouse and friends cake topper which belongs to my friend. If you all want, I can ask my friend and think she should be fine with it.

May, like what Happymummy mentioned, the porridge won't taste weird.

Furthermore, I only add 1 teaspoon so the taste is not that strong.
The soup that I used to cook the porridge is pretty sweet so it will cover the taste also.

anyone engaging event photographer for bb bday party? what should be the rough budget?
 
Happymummy and snow_xue, yes, if u are referring to the jelly cakes from Mr and Mrs Chan, u need to order via phone. Majority of their designs are $40 + $5 for delivery. U can call again to confirm the pricing...I just ordered one in August and personally find the sugar level just nice.

Snow_xue, yes, to see TCM for yr cough, seriously need to be patient and go for regular visit unlike western doc, give u the medicine and u may stop coughing for a while. Well, no obligation but just sharing my experience.

As for cake toppers hor, I saw some at a party shop at Millenia Walk Shopping Centre (level 1), the price is good. I bgt one which is a bunch of balloons like the one we saw in the cartoon movie 'UP' and is only $1.50. Not sure about the rest of the designs and prices.

jenny (pooh81), regarding the scrapbooking, there is a pushcart at Bugis Junction selling alot of these stuffs. I saw it last Friday.

I also v last min and was busy busy with it. finally Settle the venue/food/cake/invite/entertainment/photographer. Now is sending out the invite and waiting for RSVP :p But everyone is asking me is it Gor gor's birthday or Didi's birthday?? (As i got a magician as entertainment :p) Hopefully total budget within $2k. (est ard 70-80 guests)

MTDT: very nice invites! I realise that as the child gets older, my invites get more boring hahahah. For Noah's 1st birthday party, I am using Playhouse's provided invite cards hahaha. These are the cards my hubby has done for the 2 kids so far.

mtdt: the full month invite is my ah lao do one haha. U realise for my 2nd child, we just use the same template as the 1st child's invite, change colour and names nia hahaahhaha!!
