Oh, if only food is a problem, then maybe you can consider getting confinement food caterer? Think they have various period, like 20 days package etc. Caterers I heard of r Natal Essential or Newbaby. U can try searching for their website. Think there are threads on confinement food caterer in SG mother forum too.

Hi Josephine

Understand a confinement lady looks after mummy, baby, makes milk, bath milk, change niapers (even at night), and some will help out in the household or cooks some dishes for the whole family too (this is optional and they do it willing themselves)....

some confirnement lady does not mind in-laws staying in the house also. and wont mind to share room with you and baby. But your hubby maybe has to sleep somewhere else lo.....but some ladies do mind to have alot of pple in the house....so you have to let her knows if u staying with in-laws etc so that they are aware and prepare for it....

Haitong, the rational i knew is this. But usually ppl dun say. They just say cannot do. I also change everthing by myself during my 1st. As for chilli can eat. Only if you get too must heart burnt you may want to reduce. I'm a chilli lover. During my pregnant times, i eat even more chilli.

After going thru a confinement without a CL, this time round, I would do so. Haha. Less stress.

yes pauline,

i got an hunch as i have never had a positive OPK before this (same as you, we BD twice) as i am still partially b/f my girl. I have made an appt with my gynae end April 09. But i think EDD should be ard 22 Dec 09 bah.

I may tender soon to be a SAHM, cos travelling to nanny place every morning will be taxing.. haha

GG, I am actually holding my wedding in June!!! So I am afraid that my tummy can be seen by then. And I think it will cos I am currently already experiencing bloating..
sad.gif

babylove, I cannot go to your link..

Anyway I am now down with bad flu but don't know if I can take medicine or what kind of medicine I cannot take.. Any advice, ladies?

Ainsley, dun anyhow take medicine. Go see GP hor. But from what I understand, Clarinase can take but try to avoid if possible. That was why I was coughing and had flu for so long cos dun want to take medicine and let it recover by itself. Wow wedding in June means abt 4 mths preggy right? Yah by then can see some tummy a;lready. But if this is your 1st then may not be that big cos muscle not stretch before. People like me have bigger tummy. Haha. Dun bother too much. The important thing is to enjoy your wedding and the process of motherhood. Whatever happen has happen.Soon people dun remember. Important thing is dun stress yourself too much hor. Cos wedding very stress and tired one. Haha

Ainsley
If you r about 4 mths should be ok. Not tat obvious. My SIL hold her wedding when she was about 6 months and she still looks pretty. Try to find those gown tat can cover your tummy or make it not so obvious and I'm sure you can still be a pretty bride.

hey mummies, I'm having very bad MS these 2 weeks, wherever i smell deep fried food or strong flavohring food, i will merlion
sad.gif
My friend said her friend told her that it's norm for initial stage as it mean the baby is absorbing the nutrients! Anyone heard the same thing b4?

hi katrina
Can eat spicy food ah.. i had it everyday for my no 1... just avoid uncooked food. Seafood in moderation is also ok, maybe just avoid those more poisonous ones like shellfish, stingray etc.. i had crab, prawns etc for no 1 too. Just that pple say if u eat crab, your bb will turn out alot of hands aka itchy hands.. very true for me :p

hi lileen
I went through no 1 with a CL, tinking of savings $ and dun want CL for no 2 but my hubby insist must have CL.. maybe if by then we engage maid le, can do without CL.. hopefully

ainsley, like wat lileen says, if its no 1, tummy dun show so fast.. for no 2 cause tummy stretch before, shows up super fast... i tink u better go see a gp and let him know u are pregnant, then can prescribe pregnancy safe medication for u, dun self medicate...

hi sharon
Heard from pple that having MS is a good sign pregnancy is progessing well, ie your hormones level are high etc... so take it positively
happy.gif
But there are also those lucky ones who go through entire preg without ms too, envy them!

Lileen n Tris, this is my #2 actually. (2nd marriage) lol. I think I am more afraid of the weight that I will gain.. I don't want to look fat...

I feel so sleepy and tired easily nowadays but luckily my hubby takes care of all the wedding details.
happy.gif

I am feeling very terrible now from the flu but don't dare to take panadol.....
sad.gif

Hi roxy, thanks, as I really crave for spicy food, n i think my hubby too gen jiong lah.

Ainsley, i took medicines under doctor's prescription after i mentioned i might be carrying a baby last month. check 2 doctors, they said no prob.n i think better not loh.hope my pregnancy also goes well.

haitong, i tink should be fine... i just went buffet few days ago and had many tom yum prawns yum yum :p

hi ainsley
same here, i also feel tired super easily now.. ydae 8pm want to KO already... maybe eat in moderation to avoid weight gain?

katrina, dun worry, im sure all will be fine.. just enjoy being a queen for these 9 mths.. after the bb is out, our status will get downgraded from queen to bb slave keke :p

Katrina, your doc said can take panadol? or clarines? I also eat spicy food actually but not very spicy ones. But my mum said that spicy food may affect baby's skin in the future so she asked me avoid also..

Roxy, I get hungry quite easily actually though I don't eat a lot for each meal. Small frequent meals. But it seems like I am eating more than usual..
sad.gif
I took a short nap in my class, nap in the noon and I can still fall asleep in a few sec when I lied down. haha... How can I not put on weight?? lol

hi everyone,
I am new to the thread! hmm.. just been tested positive 2 days ago! doc says i shld be 6 weeks preggie already. but i cant be too sure since i nv keep track of my mens cycle.

can someone advise me which doc r u seeing? I feel so lost as to what to do? and there is too much info to digest from the forum.. can someone help ? thanks alot!!

hi Ainsley, not sure what she gave to me, n doctor said it was very mild, n safe to take.as i had high fever, so no choice loh, took 4 days to get the fever down last month. not sure panadol or clarines ok or not. better do not take guah.

hi Roxy, thanks, hope we all be fine.

Hi iciclediamond , welcome u onboard.and I am also seeking a good gynae at the moment, can anyone give us some recommendations? cheers!

Ainsley
If u r sick better go and see a GP. Tell the doc u r expecting and they will prescribe medicine safe for expecting mothers.

iciclediamond/Katrina
I'm also seeking gynae. Mine is I got too many recommendation until I dunno which one to see :p
Maybe a first question to ask is whether u prefer to see female or male gynae? Then, after that any criterias? Like is distance a problem? If yes, then maybe get a gynae that is more convenient. Or can you take leave for your consultation? If not then maybe a clinic with after office hours consultation or weekend clinics will be good. Then u must also see if u r comfortable with the chosen gynae. There are many good gynaes out there. But to me is I want to see a gynae which I am comfortable with.

Wow! Looks like a lot of Dec mummies!

iciclediamond,
Guess it really depends on your own comfort level. I've seen a male gynae before for some other stuff and he is also good. But for my 1st bb, am going to a female gynae (seeing her end of this mth) cos I personally feel may be easier to ask questions (not so embarrassing like if you want to ask personal stuff like can have sex of not..describing discharge etc). And maybe a lady gynae who has been a mum will be able to understand how we feel better. There are many good male gynaes out there too. Its just a personal choice we have to make lor. I've read in other threads some ladies who used male gynae and felt very 'violated' cos not used to being checked inside out by a male doc. Some hubbies may prefer female gynae too. And you are the one that will be facing the gynae (not your mil) so I think most important is your own preference
happy.gif

icilediamond,
Forgot to add, yes, the gynae will need to get really 'up close and personal'. E.g. if you do a vaginal scan where they need to insert the thing into you down there. And nearer to delivery, they will check you down there using their fingers to measure your dilation etc. So you need to be comfortable with a male gynae doing all these if you choose a male one. Its a matter of your own comfort level.

hi icilediamond
Guess male/female gynae is your personal prefences.. I have heard feedback from frds whereby female gynaes are surprsingly not so caring as those male ones, as they have also given birth before, so to them, pain is bearable etc But then really need to get "close and personal" so might not be so comfortable with male gynae

hi icicle and tris
So far, I have had experiences with 3 male gynaes:
Dr Adrian Woodworth.. saw him for first mc. Man of few words, everytime ask him questions, he will tell me.. its like that de. Dun worry. Guess its normal to him, but as we are first time parents, need more assurance ah... But his package is most reasonably priced. $550 for all visits, including when u are sick, can also see him for unscheduled visits to take medicine also foc. Delivery charges: $800 Cons are very short consultation and he doesnt talk much. His scanning machine is also normal,i tink cannot calculate bb heartbeat per min etc. But that was 2 yrs ago. Could have changed then

Dr LC Cheng, he's head of fertility at TMC, very fatherly and nice gynae. He helped saved my no 1 when i had serious bleeding. Super fatherly person. Package price: $1,100 Delivery: $1,200 nett for all types. Cons: He doesnt scan bb from 5th mth onwards, just measure ur tummy length n listen to heartbeat.Very long waiting time

Dr TC Chang, my final gynae, he's a very professional person n i feel bb is in very good hands with him. He's head of foetal assessment at TMC, hence he will do all the oscar/detailed scan himself. During my no 1, I had some problems with bb growth as bb wasnt growing very well which was very promptly detected by tc chang as he scans bb very detailed at each visit. He monitored me closely and made decision to take bb out at 37wks via csect as he was breech bb. Csect nicely done, bb taken out within 5-10mins n i was able to walk by 2nd day. Nurses and massage lady who saw my stitches all commented neatly done. The thing that left deepest impression on me was that during my follow up visit, he saw i was very stressed with bb feeding n engorgement and he made a personal trip down to parentcraft to ask them to follow up with me. Few weeks later, i actually received a call from parentcraft asking how i am and they told me tc reminded them again to call me to find out. We were very touched that despite his busy schedule, he still remembered us. His patients are mainly ang mohs as he's a very liberal gynae who will tell u everything also can do and eat :p
Before joining TMC, he was head of foetal medicine at KKH and he has wrote a book "Doctor I want to know is my pregnancy healthy?” http://doctor-chang.net/home. Charges: $800 package. Delivery: $1,200 for natural, $1,800 for csect. Cons: Abit steep in delivery charges

Sorry for the long post...

Morning Mummies, go through this forum, lots of mummies commented that male gynae is more patient and gentle.overall, mummies recommend KKH、SGH or clinic。but still reading the comments,n hope to find a good one。

n mummies,do u think about taking antenatal childbirth classes?

Hi Roxy, thanks a lot for your info,it seems that DR TC Chang is an ideal one。 I shall contact a few gynaes to compare。cheers!

Roxy, I enjoyed reading your long post. Detailed info good for reference, please don't apologize lar.

Hey, anyone heard from Andreanie? Wonder how she is now? Hope baby is ok.

hi katrina
Yes i took up at tmc before... mrs wong boi boi is super popular, if u are keen in taking her class need to book early... actually her classes are interesting but now actually handling no 1,i find them not very useful.. come labour, where got time and mood to rem how to breathe :p im seeing tc chang tmr for first visit, kinda miss him, hopefully everything is ok.... i have recommended tc to some friends, all like him, i find him good but delivery charges quite exp... good luck in your gynae search, must find someone whom you are comfortable with and trust him/her

hi pauline
Have not heard from her yet... hope everything is ok.. i havent updated my details cause havent seen first visit.. after mc before, i abit scared, so after first visit le then update
happy.gif
Your spotting stopped le? How's MS? I got bad MS but already put on 1.5kg le!! faint, must monitor what im eatting

Hi everyone

I am down last few days .. due to spotting and bad MS. Took jab for spotting and now monitoring. MS is still coming on and off especially in noon its quite bad. Causing my appetite to come off as well.

Wish tt MS didnt set in and hope that it will be over soon.. sigh ..

Hi Roxy, I also put Dr TC Chang into the priority list now, and good luck for ur 1st visit.

Hi T_mum, did u c doctor n c whether sth can ease? hope u feel better soon.

Most important is we can feel at ease with the gynae and trust him/her enough to look after us and our pregnancy. No doubt there are many good ones out there! Happy gynae searching to all mummies to be!!

Hi ladies,
Wow post running fast
happy.gif

T Mum, how are you. Try and rest more k.

New mummies, if you want lady gynae, Dr Joycelyn is pretty popular but long queue for her.
I'm seeing Dr Caroline Khi, same clinic as Dr Joycelyn. She is good also. Very patient and takes time to slowly explain to you. Personally like her a lot.

GG, think all the gyane there like very popular. Appointment is pretty long for Dr Khi also. Waiting time is also about an hour on weekday afternoon when I was there prevoiusly. Weekend, the nurse inform waiting time is 2hrs. Faint.

hi lileen and gg
Yes, heard of dr jocelyn and dr khi, heard both very good
happy.gif
but long waiting time....

hi haitong
Discharge is normal as our body will produce more now when preggy.. its yellowish as it becomes tinged with our urine, as long as it doesn smell, doesnt itch, and not reddish, its ok...if it smells, or itch, could be yeast infection and need to see your gynae

yap common to have discharge. ok as long as they are not bloody. i had brown discharge a few days back. was so worried so went to see gynae. he said no cause for worry.

any second time mummy trying vbac? virginal birth after c-section? any docs to recommend? heard paul tseng is pro vbac. anyone knows? thanks gals!

Regarding the smell, do you mean really NO smell at all? Sure to have abit of smell rite...but not those very smelly smelly smell.........I am abit concerned cos i can smell something leh (if i bend down to smell)...but always hear people saying NO smell ok....
