I am wearing the milk collection shells as I find breastpad will sometimes rub against my nipples & dun like friction to my already sore nipples. but i dun use the milk that was collected, I throw it away. its juz afew drops only anyway. The collection shells is more cost effective too, can wash but ya, its hard lah, like 2 hard thing in front of u.

I bought mine at Isetan Scotts, its from Medela. Got holes on top so our nipples can be aired too. Isetan also has washable breastpads, I saw NUK brand have.

wkdays is fine as i wld be on ML till may.
baby crying - think the trick is dun carry until they sleep. then when they "wake abit", they wld be startle why they not being carried. put them down when baby abt to close eyes... tis wld be gd esp when they grow up.. so tat they know how to sleep themselves if they wake up in the middle of the nite.
some of the bbies mabe already used to the "carry n sleep". to correct this habit, might be tough. like lileen says, let bb cry or hv to "carry n put down" many times before baby correct the habit.

i use washable breast pads now. Last time i use small towel when at home. Go out then use disposable ones.

MTDT: I wear it to sleep too...wont drip coz got cover to hold the milk ma. My flow is not like alot too..maybe.

bb keep crying when put down.. must carry like the whole day.. sigh..

ya.. those first time mummies reali under lotz of stress... mi was quite depressed for a while.. cuz mil keep asking mi to add fm.. cuz bb like always not full..
then hubby at nite oso neber bother to help to see y bb is crying etc..

just to share, went to tmc lc dis noon, she massaged for me n told me those lumps r not blocked ducts but r breast tissue...no wonder i massage till breasts blue black lumps still there, so mummies take note... e lump in ur breast might be tissue n not blocked ducts..n she says musy wear good support bra at home as compared to going braless... if braless, breast will sag down which means all the milk is encouraged to sag down, n if not expressed out, will cause engorgemnt.. so must wear bra at home

MTDT: wont move arnd coz its suppose to wear inside ur bra. The holes is on top only, to air the breast, muz position such that the holes r on top n not below so wont leak..
but now I found a funny way not to wear bra coz with the bra can be abit thick haha. I wear a lyra top or a tight t-shirt den juz put the shells inside. the lycra top will hold the shells in place....

diff bb hv diff character. Some can let them hv the crying method. Some cannot. Guess we hv to understand them 1st. Cry out mtd may not be suitable for all. For my boy cos he very persistent or stubborn. So i hv no choice as soft approach dun wk for him. Very heartache to see my no 1 cry that time. There r times that i cry also. But i no choice already. Even put down go toilet also cannot. No 2 also like that but touchwood not as bad. Which baby dun like to be cuddled? So i let him cry for 2 plus hr till time for next feed then i carry to nurse him loh. At times than cuddle him for a while n put him down. Like wat mtdt says dun carry till sleep. I say like rocking horse like that. Goes up n down.

I was also advised by the LC before I was discharged to wear good support bra everywhere I go. Even at home.
She mentioned about breasts sagging if the support is not good.
I hear liao scared ah...
The other day when I brought bb for check up at United Sq, I quickly went Mums n Babes to buy good support nursing bras.
Then I realise it is really different when the support is good.
The bra helps to lift up my breasts and can support them really well.
So mummies, do try to wear bra at home as well
Hmm...I sound like i'm selling bras...haha

I was also advised by the LC before I was discharged to wear good support bra everywhere I go. Even at home.
She mentioned about breasts sagging if the support is not good.
I hear liao scared ah...
The other day when I brought bb for check up at United Sq, I quickly went Mums n Babes to buy good support nursing bras.
Then I realise it is really different when the support is good.
The bra helps to lift up my breasts and can support them really well.
So mummies, do try to wear bra at home as well
Hmm...I sound like i'm selling bras...haha

Seems like the milk collection shell is a gd replacement for wearing breast pads at home.. Will look out for it after I'm discharge from confinement this wkend!

Regarding bb wanna carry, mine oso like tt.. Hard for me to adopt the leave him crying method, since I'm staying with my in laws.. N I tried the put him down when he's almost asleep, but he will cry again then have to calm him down.. My mil had been carrying him n putting him down when he's in deep sleep.. Was thinking next time I jialet Liao, bb will always wanna be carried..

Great we have good response for the bash! Think willgo ahead to organise!! So now I need more support on the venue!! I personally like the idea of holding at one of the mummy's house- easier for mummies who're total bf and babies can have their " chit chat" session on those playmat! Capacity wise must be be able to occupy ard 20 mummies, 20 babies and some daddies!!
Most likely event will hold on a Saturday afternoon so that Daddies can be present too to help and share!!!
Also need vote on whether mummies will like to bring food or opt for catering!!

Iris, I watched avAtar 3d this afternoon too.
Cry out mtd-personally I never use as bu she de let bb cry too long. Haha... And maybe becos I latch direct, many times bb easy to sooth.but I still make sure he is not carried/nurse to sleep. Eyes still open when I put him back in cot. Even in cot, I also dun pat him etc.. And when carry, I dun rock/walk abt. Just carry and cuddle...
Like wat lileen says.. U see which mtd suits u and bb bah.
Gathering- my no1 kid thread also hv freq gatherings. So we rotate amg mommies homes. All hv chance...
Sugguest-
1) Food to be potluck. Tis save the trouble of collecting money and sometimes, sure hv last min never turn up moms. The most is once date confirm, mums tat indicate coming can list down wat food they r bringing to avoid duplication.
2) Gift exchange is something new to me for gathering, haha no objections lah
3) We can hv such gathering regularly... For my no1, we hv it almost every other mth. Haha run out of new mummies plc to go.
