PY : no worries. She will be fine :D

MrsL/Shugar/Hippo : initially when we change diapers for him he will wail like siren. Afterwhich we realise that we have been too wiping his buttocks with pigeon wipes too hard (coz' gan cheong to pacify the little siren). Now he is quite okay when we wipe. Seems like he enjoy the attention on his buttocks.

May I ask :
1) Baby hiccups
my baby seems to be having hiccups during/after feed like twice a day. how to prevent/solve?

2) poo/pee
i so tired. was feeding him then he poo. i change his diaper. then continue feeding him then he pee. i change his diaper.
then continue feeding..then heard him poo again. i leaving him there till he cry liew. else duno how many diapers i will chg.

do u all wait till they cry or how to know when they finish pooing/peeing.

Re: poo
My mom will rub his tummy downward and make "mmmmm" sound to help him poo it all out. It might take a while if bb has a lot to poo and be prepared to siam if bb boy pee! We got pee on several times and I m thinking of getting the Pee Pee TeePees now! My hb actually made 2 from paper tower yesterday. Quite useful I must admit :p

few times already when change, he will poo or pee again in less than 5 mins! :S Wondering how long should wait for him to totally finish pooping....
 
Blurmummy: oh wa tts long labor.mine is last min elective c-s on 15oct am, i went in on15oct midnite.actually no more theatre one for 15oct but think my gynae know the hospital ppl quite well,they open emerg theatre for me:p i think they have diff theatre for elective c-s n those emerg c-s.fortunately i took her advice coz bb head big,end up even cs it take some time for his head to come out.I stayed at 354B.wa 15th n 16th oct no single bedder lor u know these 2 days 3 nurseires in mount a all full.I also discharge yest noon.

Py: no wo mine he fall asleep i will wake him up n continue till at least latch n suck for 30-30mins then he zz for abt 2hrs. wa u have 100ml fr 2 breasts mine i tried had my 1st pumping ,only30ml for 2 breasts,tomm try pump again, so painful now both nipples.

aria: thxthx. but hor usually when i feed him fully in hospital till both soften he can zz for 3-4hrs.yest nite only once he feed till both soften n he zz for 3 hrs hehe.tonite gog to try feeding him with those miserable 30 ml i pumped out.

hippo: hows ur wound getting along?when u wanna start ur massage?

haha. told my HB to settle since previous two i did while he snored away. baby fidget then started to cry (have not reached hysterical cry). HB undo diaper see little shit. while getting the wipes, bb pee pee fountain :p.

may i ask who suffer from water retention after pregnancy?

i got no symptoms of water retentionat all during pregnancy, but after my c-section w GA, i got water retention during hospital stay n lasted a few days n is getting worse

Hee I know I havent popped yet but from my mum, she did say that to get rid of water retention after pregnancy...DO NOT drink plain water. Take red date water as your plain water. Drink soups, milo, horlick but not plain water.

my wound is almost not pain anymore. Went to change dressing n gynae said my skin is very good thus wound has healed very well.
Massage can only start 3-4 weeks after op. Think i prolly will see how is the wound then decide.

I went to my gyane this afternoon and he said I am not dilated yet.

He said, it may be due to my son's head is too big. It is 34.5cm. Is it too big? I am hoping to go natural delivery. He said he can try to induce me on Wed and see whether I can pop on Thu. *pray*

Hi Elaine, ur baby head size same as my son 34.5cm. When he come out my gynae say his head too big tat y cannot come out natural and i hav to go through c-section cos i was also not dilated enough.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

My gynae told me to go back on Wed for med to help me dilate. I am still clinging to a faint hope I can still deliver natural. He is not engaged yet though my uterus has started to sink.

isabel update:
last fri was a harrowing experience transporting her from my home in bedok to Mt E for PD follow up. 10 mins into car journey she pooped and went hysterical so we had to stop at east coast car park to change her. then reach PD aircon too cold she went hysterical agn, i took out my boob. settled her. saw the PD, then had to do blood test for jaundice test, she was cranky and had to calm her down. agn take out my boob. stupid nurses drew so much blood from her somemore from the back of her hand and one freaking test tube like adults know!!! anyways, of course hysterical and agn, took out my boob.

then went to my gynae for follow up, she reached there, went cranky agn, so me, the human pacifier fed her again. the rest is history and we had to rent the bilibed to do phototherapy at home.

isabel of course hates being under the light and would cry non stop whenever she's put under it. but we persisted and had to bear with the pain of watching her cry nonstop.

today we decided to change PD to one at east shore cos the journey is only a short 10 mins and the whole operation of transporting her there, seeing PD and doing blood test was a lot more manageable. PD is nice and wait is not too long either.

blood test result is good and we dun need phototherapy anymore. but still need to get her suntan in the early morning and late evening to bring jaundice level even lower. her cord stump also fell off today which is a relieve as well. all in all, everything gets better by the day. so we can heave a big sigh of relief now. ...

hi, i got this 'medela supplemental assistance system' to let go. Used but minimum usage. Brought at $72 from tmc as advice by the LC, willing to let go at $45 neg. This system is for mummies whose milk supply still low but wanna babies to latch on. Please PM for more detail.

talk abt being exposed. HA!!! I feel like im some exhibit in the freakin museum. When in hospital most times i bf sitting on chair cos wound hurt getting on n off bed but pple got no decency to get out of my room when i need to bf leh. MIL is one glowing e.g. Somemore stick her stupid head in to SEE. Knn.. By the time my gfs came to visit i din bother covering up just chit chat w them as im bf-ing.

Then i thot come back to my own home sure have privacy right? NO! My mum, aunties all just come barging in. Wah lau TL now i just tell them to get out or just expose myself depending on how KL im feeling. Hehe... Sigh...

Finally back to forum after days of struggling with bb Jolie.

Congrats to all mummies who have given birth!!!

I have finally given up on latching after a few days struggling. Here's my painful latching story.

Was struggling hard to feed bb during the 3 days in hospital. My problem as mentioned before is short nipple. Even though with the nurses help, poor bb just cannot seem to get enough and always crying. In the end, I got no choice but for a few feeds, I ask them to use formula.

When I got discharge, I still determined to feed her with BM. So I continue to give every 2 hours. However, everytime I feed her. She cry very hard and I mean really really hard. Same prob. Cant seem to get enough. Every session of feeding leaves me in tears. Feel so painful to see my bb cry so hard.

Someone from forum recommended Sister Kang. Though after I called her she doesnt sound too friendly, in the end on the 7th or 8th day after birth, I still went to sought her help. She helped me to latch on and I thought that is the end of the torment. I came home, tried to latch on but bb is abit impatient and I think is abit late for her to take her time to suckle after being hungry for soooo long. No choice... so after 1 to 2 days of trying, I gave up. She needs the BM to fight her jaundice. I cannot drag anymore. So now using hand express method to get all the milk out. Though getting the sore fingers, I managed to get the feed for her. At least I know that she is getting the milk that she needs.

Sigh... sad... but I don't feel so bad cos' at least I have tried my best on latch on.
 
Ddnikz: awww, I'm sure you tried your best. Hmm, did you get a breast pump? You can use that to express bm for your bb. It's easier. That's what I am doing for samuel coz his feeds are monitored with fixed quantity.

the results of Charlotte's CT scan is out. Everything normal.. but we gonna wait for doc to call us to tell us more abt it.. as the doc was not ard just now when we pass him the results.

I think Charlotte has learn how to latch easier or to find the nipple liao.. although sometimes the position is wrong and she was so pek cek and end up crying.. but i think just try to shift her position here and there, trial and error i think should be find

just now she was awake.. and it was time for milk.. i latch her and she easily suckle without any struggling. but then again it's like for 15-20 mins each boobs only. so now i'm moo mooing haha!

you can try again when bb is slightly bigger when they have more strength? i'm not giving up too. you hv short nipple , i'm worse! i got inverted nipple! i'm waiting for Naia to be abt 2 weeks and try again. really hope to be able to direct latch her. for my elder, i only manage to latch her when she's 5 weeks old! by then, my let down is much better and she's bigger. can suck on the nipple shield very well. so, dun give up ok? for now, just xpress out which is what i'm doing also. shugar : we tired ma. haiyo my baby last night, woke up every 2 hours to feed. feed one boob fall asleep. then wake up 2 hours later to feed. i just latch. no energy to pump out.

Hi all, Im still in the waiting game... those "left behind"... Its quite stressful.. So scared I go over EDD I will be even more stressed... How????

No sound no pic from baby that she's coming out anytime...

Got the medela pump in style. However, due to short nipple, the milk went downwards instead of flowing into the bottle. After days of hand express, think the nipple came out abit. Tried out the pump again yesterday and managed to get alittle milk. I find it quite funny - I pump for 15 mins and get only like 10ml of milk. If I use hand express, for 15 mins I can get around 30ml. How long should I use the pump then?

I got the nipple shield during my stay in hospital. BB simply refused to latch on. Threw the shield off... sigh.... not going to give up on breast milk but just given up on latching. As long as baby is happy and healthy, that's all that matters. But my fingers damn sore from the hand express!!!

think my baby is too used to bottle feed liao. Don't think she will latch on. Even if she does, I will be worried she doesnt get enough to eat.

At least for hand express, I can tell and monitor how much she is taking in.

Yah... trying to move on already. I see baby happy, I think I made the right choice. She is a smiley baby... Feel so pain to see her crying from hunger cos' of the failure of the latch on.

My CL saying i dun have enough breast milk, ask my hubby go buy formula milk so she will feed bb FM at nite n i feed him BM in the day so not so tiring for me as bb not enough milk keep waking up hrly to2hrly, shd i take her advice?
