princess

Take care lah. Doesn't mean ur BM no good. If ur boy aws kena attacked by virus, u can't expect ur BM to be omnipotent mah

hi flower..

i was about to ask teh same question too...hehe

my supply already very less...top up with lots of formula nowadays..sianz. Am also wondering if the tea is effective? thinkingof trying too. Now on fenugreek..but each time i pump only 50 to 80ml...

kris
i alternate my hands when i pump by hands lor..kekeke.. must use every fingers and thumbs so that the entire breasts can be massaged..sometimes i also place the bottle on the table and just use my 8 fingers and 2 thumbs simultaneously..kekek..

kam
glad to hear your girl is recovering already...babies do take a much longer time to recover than adults as they can't spit out the phlegm nor blow their noses! hee.... yea, i also believe she is recovering fast cuz of your breast milk! the two of you stay together mah, so if your body is producing antibodies against the viruses at home and your girl is drinking your milk, of cuz she gets the antibodies too!

flower
yup, i tried the sacred tea before. i bought two packets and they work very well..however i am trying my best to go without supplements. so far so good for now. do you know that intake of oats help to product milk too?
happy.gif

glass bottles> ops. 2 of my glass bottles exploded in de freezer -_-" cut myself alittle while trying to clear up de mess. heng manage to squeeze de glass particle out of my finger. n glad de explosion was bad enuggh for me to discover, else cannot img wat will happen if i feed it to my boy -_-"

Hi mummies,

Anyone has a spare pump to loan/sell? My Avent dual pump just broke down today. Suddenly no suction. Anyone using avent pump and 12 sell the motor?
sad.gif

Do PM me if you have any lobang. Thanks.

Michelle> sign.. i have to walk from my office (hitachi tower) to company's main building (battery rd) to pump.. thats like 15mins spend on walking and changing pass to use the lift of e main building.
i try to shorten e pumping session by using the pump and at e same time my fingers to massage and squeeze my breast... but still need ard 25mins to clear both breasts lo.
today as it was e 3rd day back at wk, my pass was still not activated for access to the mummy's room, and no aunt cleaner around to open the door for me i had to skip 1 pumping session! so stupid right... the reception where the mummy's room was located also dont have the access card!!! said it was to ensure that mummies' milk will not be stolen from the fridge!
so it was like 8hr interval today bec i was v busy.. sign... hope will settle down at wk asap.

Milkyway>530am! so early... what time do you need to reach office? i wake up ard 705am, carry baby down put him in carseat, and my hubby will fetch him to my mil place. i go back will bath, pump then reach office ard 9am.

chase> go repair lo. dey repaired mine on de spot

prinzess55> same lo. i oso try to minimise pumping time by using hands to help clear faster. keke. my office dun even have a nursing room. i either find a meeting room or bo bian use toilet -_-

when i move office in mar i suppose, den really no meeting room oso liaos.

prinzess,
u start work so late de. I pump at 415am, back to sleep at 5am. wake up at 615am and left for work at 650am. last time have to leave home at 640am but MIL shift in so let the bb sleep longer time. my gal good life, can sleep untill 8am then wake up. My boy from 3rd mth onwards, have to wake up at 630am daily so now become a habbit. Sometimes, 7am, wake up liao.

hair dropping
Me too dropping. heard at least a year .

prinzess
wow u can wake up at 7am?? so shiok? wat time u start work? no need to pump first? i start work at 8.30am. I need to factor in the time to travel to my mum's place lor.. normally with no jam, it's ard 15-20mins ride... the morn jam is terrible today lah... took abt 35mins leh... anyway i wake up a little too early also lah... tmr can wake at 6am liao.. haha then i just latch baby in the car lor..

u got a nursing room in office? i dont have lor.. need to book meeting rooms and the meeting rooms have windows can partial see thru so have to hide at a corner.. and best there are webs around.. so yucky lor.. wonder if the other floors has a nursing room.. and i gotta use the dirty fridge in office too... sigh... i pump 2x in office today, during lunch and after work.. i guess i can skip the after work if dont have to wait for hubby and pump at my mum's place ba.

michelle no probs, thanks for coming up, my omelette was still half way done, so can't go down and pass you the cubes
happy.gif

michelle> then in Mar how?

Connie> eh official working hr is from 830am but everyone just come in ard 9am..
actually my boy still wake up ard 2plus am and 5plus am for feed so i dont pump... after feed just go back to sleep. i tried to skip 2plus feed but he can make noisesssss all the way till 4am lo!!! since he is not chubby type and wont want to drink more than his 120ml per feed... i let him drink lo

milkyway>i pump at home after bath be4 l leave home... so i plan pump at 730am(at home), 1130 or 12noon(at work), 4pm (at work), then 6 plus or 7plus pm at home.. lucky for me its my hubby bring my boy to mil's place so i just go straight to wk...
there are 4 curtain cubicles in the nursing rooms.. but im now thinking of nearer alternative.. wonder whether there are nursing rooms at fullerton heeheehee.

milkyway> stick up de meeting room window with newspaper lo. i do tat all de time. n if u go ard de whole building, whichever room got newspaper stuck on de window, means i went there to do my biz before =x

paige> haha. no prob. u oredi helped me collect them all the way from yishun. going up to pick them myself is like de least i could do =p at least i can use them tml when i open up my boy's new heinz bottle =p

prinzess55> we'll c how lo. cos my "client" (mgr) oso breastfeeding n she'll be moving with us. i'll see wat she do lo. haha.

paige,
okay i shall pay a compliment to my company then. we have 2 nursing rooms in the building but i don't utilize them. i pump at my own cubicle. my front and back are guy colleagues also. right is window and left is empty cubicle.

milkyway

sandwich
i also lazy...haha...anyway don't really need it lah..now using normal kitchen scissors to cut the food

hrm...how do you ladies pump at your cubicle??? i always have to move up my tops to attach the pumps leh, so surely will expose 1...and sometimes i use hand to clear the breast after pump...confirm expose

now hiding in storeroom to pump...very hot in there

expressing at work,
my office also no nursing room/meeting room...so i pump in toilet...feel its dirty but no choice
at least got privacy...else need use server room...hot n no chair
dun dare use the fridge in office too...wat i do is put my fridge to go in the freezer when i reach...1st pump at 11am...after pump, i put milk into fridge to go n bring to my table...then keep until 2nd pump n till i reach home
so far no prob

Sigh... Planning to wake up at 6am, end up I have to wake up at 4.45am cos my gal woke up crying so I latch her and nv got to slp after that! So sleepy now!!!

kudos to all working mummies!
I remember when i returned back to work after my first one arrived in january 2009 it was a quite a struggle..like many of you, i latched on at 2plus, then 5plus, wake up at 6am and prepare for work. By 4th month, bb#1 was extremely clingy and would cry very loud when I leave for work at 6.30am. It broke my heart on various occasions and maid and i have pull us apart. At work I would pump once (or twice if time permits) and bring home the miserable 200ml of milk for bb's following day's feeding...

it was tough. it got even tougher when bb started teething and cried throughout the night. many a days i were a worried panda at work with no proper sleep. and soon, i realized i was pregnant with #2! the cycle went on......

hair loss>>
my hair is also dropping mercilessly everywhere. it is even lagi more obvious against my white homogenous tiles! gosh. everywhere i go and i look down, i can practically see clumps of hair. i sneaked out to the hair salon two days ago and told the guy in there i need a treatment desperately! lol... i think we would drop hair for almost 6months (i.e. till bb turns about 10months old) but if you have any balding spots or thinning spots, best to get help before it's too late bah...

expressing at work,
My boss lend me 1 meeting room to pump. I stick newspaper to the glass to prevent pple peeping. I use the office fridge and all my colleagues know I pump in office. but I try to shorten the time spend. Anyway, my company only 7 ple include boss.

Jassie
I have white homogenous tiles at home too and the hair on the floor look so disgusting. Got to vacuum all the time. I chopped off my long hair yesterday. Hair stylist commented that I'm starting t have a small bald patch at the top of my head! So I change hair parting and bought hair loss shampoo. Hope these helps and I can survive 6 months of hair loss.

hair
Mine also dropping in clumps .. so sad. hub ask whenther i wanna go Yun Nan

working
i intend to look for job when bb is 18mths but i missed getting salary every mth and gossiping w colleagues

Now althou' using my own $ but feel like hving to c my hub 'face color' everyday .. He keep reminding me to look for job when bb is 18mths and he always think i m very free at hm, he say i '想睡就能睡' .. his head lor, when bb zz i still hv hsework to do hor .. so angry!

i want to complain abt my stuipd hub
yday i was nursing bb to zz on bed, of coz i switch off the light, right? Hub came in n banged against something then shouted at me for making the room dark .. angry x 10

used to hv a night light in the room but din use anymore coz hub complain too bright

now i learned to nurse and change diaper in e dark and he complain too dark .. dunno wat he want .. angry x 100

cutedevil
Maybe you would like to invest in a small light. For me, I usually on the side light to feed or change my boy.

It's like that one. Husbands always think that we are enjoying our lives at home. haha...

Jassie, itsy
You might want to try to take the supplement that we took during the pregnancy. My colleague told me it works after I gave birth the 1st child.

mimosa, kris13, corinne
My company does not have a pumping room too. I use the utilities room. It's very dirty. Sometimes I can see small cockroaches running around. Haha... Now went to buy the cockroach trap to kill them. I've tendered and last day will be on Feb 17. Hopefully my new co has a decent room for me to pump. Not too sure if my new boss is "open" to the idea of BF.

My schedule of pumping is as follows:
6.45am - feed my boy
7am - pump
8am - leave the house for work
10am - pump in office
1.30pm - pump in office
5pm - pump in office
8.30pm - latch
9.30pm - pump

I will try to hand express after my son drinks in the middle of the night. It will be his call liao...

am pumping @ work now...
I oso woke up ard 6am, Latch bb is he wakes up... Sometimes latch till I fall back asleep, ended up he latch on 1hr....oh gosh! After tat I got to rush to work quickly as late.

~michelle~
How did the glass bottle exploded in the fridge? filled up too full? I am using glass bottles to store my ebm too... Glad u are ok.

~paige~
Heehee.. Then I Shld compliment my coy oso. Got 2 nursing rooms in this building, 1 fridge each in the rooms, and there's even a pigeon steam sterilizer in 1 of the rms.

~prinzess~
I applied for access to enter the nursing rm floor when I am on leave b4, So I can pump on 1st day back at work. Oso need to get key fr one of the HR person. So far ok. Juz tat my timing of pumping keep shifting due to work, initially pump every 3-4hrs, now pump every 4-5hrs.. Supply dropping. : (

~kiki~
Saw ur bintan photos! v nice and can see that u r enjoying yourselves. Which villa are u staying at? now tempted to ask my hubby if he want to go for short trip as well.. Heehee.

cutedevil - i also dun like to use my hubs' money! i still have income now, that's y still can spend $$$ on wad i want. sometimes so pek chek, want to buy stuff for baby if discuss with him, usually muz wait for him to think. so now if not too ex i will juz go ahead and buy myself if not wait until sky drop ah...

last time when i tried to make baby sleep at night, he so buay zi dong will still do his stuff loudly, ie bang table, walk loudly, etc, end up baby keep waking up and poor me keep having to pacify him... super angry! now i let him pacify baby to sleep then he know not easy, somemore will ask me to do things quietly! so for me, to make him understand, i ask him to look after baby more. cos at home looking after baby and doing housework, more tiring sometimes than going outside to work leh!

Husbands again: Root of evreything bad
Oh no! Complains about this dept again! Hahaha...
Anyway, with regards to Marc and his room, we actually have a small table light from IKEA. To make it less bright, we've placed a book round it so the light basically lights from the top. It's definitely less glaring and also softens the tone in the room.

Honestly, I don't think husbands think you gals are enjoying life at home, but perhaps they just want to grumble about work. I'm home on some days and I see how Marc can keep anyone very busy. I'm sure your hubbies would realise that too if you left the baby to him for half a day, and give him some simple household chores.

Have a good lunch everyone!

cutedevil,
Totally agree with Gerald. Must let your hub experience it, then he knows what's actually happening. Ask him to take 1 day leave, and be at home with baby alone, you go out for a break. Then after that, you should not hear complaints from him no more!

Kam
lol!! leave HB will baby for 1 day...
i cant imagine what'll happen to the baby!!
And i'll be out whole day thinking of her man.. hahaa.. :p

cutedevil
my hubby is like urs too... he thinks when baby is sleeping in the day, i will be sleeping with her too... and he thinks i do nothing else! but now i'm back to work, so he got nothing to complain anymore.. :p

ss is dropping.. arrhhh
just 2nd day back to work and my yield is lesser than ytd already.. and i spent longer time today to pump also hoping to get back the same amt.. but then the milk just dont wanna come out anymore....
sad.gif
(((( hope it's just today and mayb i will get back the amt later.. or issit due to me dragging the interval too long, so ss has dropped?? arrgghhh....

Nursing Room - My company have nursing rooms here but I have to take the lift and go 12 storeys up...
sad.gif
Still quite a decent one, think converted from store room. Got a couple of shelf with boxes but also got 4 small arm chairs and 1 side table.

Feel a bit ley cheh to go up with my bag full of stuff and laptop.. but normally meeting rooms are are fully booked... If got meeting rooms available, as they are very open - got glass panels that is visible from inside office and from opposite building, I will use the nursing poncho to pump. if not I can also choose to pull down 4 blinds (which can take forever) but I realised that its a waste of time cause I can block visibility from opposite building but ppl within office can still see.. hahaha so I use the poncho

I still remember that I used to pump in the toilet during my #3 times and it was quite tramatic. Well, although not the cleanest but I did have full privacy.. lol

But ultimately, I was very happy to be able to pump for my baby so no regrets
happy.gif

Cutedevil,
Agree with Rach, ask hubby to take care bb at night and u go kai kai. See what happen.

The 1st time I tried, He called at 9pm and ask when come back. When I reach home at 1130pm, both still awake in the bedroom. After a few round, he ok with it and by 1130pm, both are asleep.

paige,

nice meeting u for the 1st time too!
happy.gif
kate is such a cutie pie too. hey maybe when they start crawling, we can arrange playdates at my home or something!
happy.gif

--flower4 & Shirley--

I tried the sacred tea before. My supply did increase but not by so much la. Can say it's not bad! I find it expensive though.

Re: Husbands

Last time when my girl cries at night for milk, i'm always the one waking up to give her drink, change her diapers etc and he will just be sleeping. It really got me fedup so i told him that he should get up as well and experience what i'm feeling. So now when she gets up at night, most of the times he'll feed her. Sometimes, men really need to let them experience what we have been doing. They can be a blockhead at times!

melissa
thanks! yes we did enjoy ourselves, though it was a wee bit tiring with baby sometimes.

kam
do u mind sharing with me the email brochure u got from kidzloft? thanks in advance.

kam,
u got PM. thanks.

rashes near eyes
mummies, my girl suddenly got rashes near her eyes at the lower eye lids. is there anything i can apply without stinging her eyes? right now, i'm just cleaning with water and cotton ball. i think its her drooling and chewing on her fist, then she goes rubbing her eyes.

bib problem
these days lots of drooling, so today i decided to try let her use a bib. but she keeps playing and tagging at it and it keeps coming off! how ah like that?!

bernice, thanks for the info. Yes, agree that it's expensive, that's why i m still thinking whether to try it or not.

Re: Husbands..leaving baby with hubby alone at home is a great idea! But i so worried that my hubby cannot handle baby alone..only once that i went for a hair cut, then i left her with hubby for 2 hrs at home. She cries out loud as she wanna sleep, and fell asleep later on since she's so tired. Even at night, when my hubby tries to pacify her to sleep, she will cried out loud, in the end i still need to latch her to sleep. Me too like some of the mummies here, taking care of my baby alone at home, no helper at all!!

Infant care - any sept babies already in the infant care now? i will send my baby there on either 1sr or 4th feb, as gg back to work soon. But poor baby, need to wake up very early, and travel with us daily from sengkang to Jurong...just hope that she can adapts well to the centre ;p

Husband,

lucky my husband never say i'm free at home hahaha. maybe cos i always tell him i'm very busy haha. cos gotta cook, pump, feed #1, feed #2, do laundry. dun have even time for mopping the floor.. only have time for vacuuming the floor.

--kiki--

How about applying calendula cream lightly on her eyes when she is sleeping?

Your bib is the velcro fastening kind? How about putting a scotch tape at the velcro there to fasten the bib onto her top?

--Shirley--

Heh, no harm buying 1 packet sacred tea to try out first. They do come in smaller packet, 3oz. Its really not bad. worth a try!!

Wow your infant care so far away from home...you work in Jurong isit?

--Crystalz--

Wow you still got time to cook! For me if i look after 2, i wldnt even have the time to cook!
