Re: Husband

Well, i cant complain abt my hb. My hb can manage my bb vy well,he loves to spent time w him especially showertime.

Re:Breastmilk

How long r you gg to breastfeed your bb? My supply drops too cos i oni pump 3x a day. I dun wake up to pump at night anymore, my freezer is full and i tint my milk storage can last for 1.5 mths if i dont continue..if possible hope i can tahan till bb is 1 yr old.

kiki,
If there is no extra eye discharge, no need to worry and no need to apply anything. Wash too often with water will actually make the skin drier. Just monitor closely. My PD said is the rash is close to the eyes, better don't apply anything.

Shirley,
I tried the sacred tea also. For me, no help.

prettymums, mine is those small small one, plug directly to e wall socket type .. bright meh?!?

cookiezz, same lor, my hub also buay zi dong when bb is sleeping at night. When i told him to lower tv volume he'll say cannot, he can hardly hear anything or dun understand the chinese subtitle. When i told him to minimise noise level, he say he is not a mouse

hub take care of bb?
my hub? wait long long lor ..

i used to insist hub to bath bb on wkends, end up hv to wait for him to finish his papers lah, clear email lah, wash car lah, watch tv lah .. wait wait wait till bb zz den he say he's ready to bath bb and wake bb .. n he din prepare anything hor, he expect me to prepare the water, the towel, nappy, and everything for him

then there is one sat when i was so lazy coz just came back for lunch, so asked hub to help me fill bb bath tub. he asked me 'Den how u managed alone during wkdays?' I so so regret asking him

shirley,

my bb was at infant care since Dec09. why do you hv to travel fm sengkang to jurong. That's is vy far leh..

princess,

i dont remember the brand of the pump. i tried using mouth before but the phlegm dont come out.

bernice,
it is very very cls to the eyes...the rashes..little dots like surrounding the eye. quite bad
sad.gif
i scared to apply the calendula cream, its too cls to the eye. am afraid when she wakes up, she will rub and it will sting her eyes leh. yeah, my bibs are all velcro type. hmm...ok, maybe i can try using scotch tapes! going crazy liao...i put it on for her, next thing i come back she happily waving her bib to me. lol!

kam
got your email. thanks lots.
happy.gif

her eye got no discharge thankfully but it looks quite bad, am worried it will spread even more. oh really, wash too often will make the skin drier! oh no... then i better stop washing it...i'm doing it like every few hrs. so how often shd i wash it? once a day enough?

cutedevil - haha same, when hubs bath baby, sure will forget something... usually is hanky or towel. but i pei fu him. sometimes bath halfway if water too hot or too cold he still can on the tap to adjust temp, cos for me i cant handle so baby got to adjust to the temp!

but when he is at home, i will make use of him lor. haha ask him to fetch this fetch that. i got this feeling he wanna ask me how i handle alone at home with no one to fetch stuff but i will sure rebut lar. cos if got extra hands around of cos must use! i play octopus at home in the day very tiring liao!

its amazing how such a small baby can make us so busy! last time how our mothers and grannies handle huh? but then hor my mum really rusty liao cos she also cannot handle my son alone. hahaha and she actually pei fu me that i can handle wor hahahaha!!!!

Aiyoh! What have I done.

In any case, I think both parties have to work things out. I guess it's only natural that each party has a different opinion and outlook on matters (even when it seems soooo logical to either that he/she is correct).

What's essential here is that after all the ranting and raving, that our kids do not suffer nor does our relationship with our spouses get strained.

Cheers

Bm supply>
oh man.. Seems like those back to work having this problem..
Dun dare go back work liaoz man..
Can I use as an excuse not to go back?? :p

Berrypie..wow! that means u sent ur baby to infant care when she is abt 2 month old? Is hse coping well at the infant care now? Coz we staying at Sengkang, but both me and hubby work in Jurong. So, we decided to let baby attending the infant care at Jurong, so that we can spend more time with her. Actually, we signed up an infant care centre at Sengkang when i was pregnant, but i later on i found that centre not so good, so forfeit the $500 deposit, and found another centre at Jurong.

Bernice, Kam..ok,i will try to scared tea, hope it will hlps to increase my supply. Feel like giving up already, as each time i pump the milk so little...sianz!

Cookiez...yeah..my mum was here when baby is abt one month old, she said last time she took care 5 of us, no helper at all, no problem. Now, she took care of my baby only, she got plm...haha..As time goes by, i also manage to handle my baby alone, do simple housework, and cook for myself during lunch...it's indeed very tiring!

after 4.5hrs, my girl only drank 80ml of milk! she not hungry meh? wasting lots of milk these few days. is this a sign to start solids? any mommy here thinking of starting semi solids like cereals at 5 mths old?

gerald & mommies with complaining hbs...this one is for u!
----------------------------------------------
What do u do all DAY?
Author: Unknown

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door.

As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?"

She again smiled and answered,"You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?

"Yes," was his incredulous reply.

She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

(Priceless!!!)

shirley,

i send my bb to infant when he was 3 mths old. He is coping well so far...n my caretakers r prc n they seem to like my son

melissa> ya. my only guess is de glass bottles is too full

kam> lol, my hubby will nv stay alone with bb lo. whenever i wan do ot or go out, i need arrange with my parents to take care of my boy -_-"

but he is ok when he is hm with us. he know it's hard to put baby to sleep, play with baby while i go do my stuffs

milkyway> my supply oso dropped drastically this wk. feel damn sian. spend more time pumping, but gets like 100ml less a day -_-

shirley> my boy is going infant care on 1st feb. since dec he goes to my parents hm. so basically waking up will be same time

kiki> i start my boy on puree last wk. cos he drinks de milk, but vomits them out on purpose. no choice. give him solid. he is not even 5mths =p

--kiki--

Wa so close to the eye, the rashes isit red? Think bring her see PD as the eye area is delicate. How long has she had these rashes? Your girl mischievious ley, take out the bib. She drools alot? Mine dun, maybe not time yet.

I'm going try out the brown rice cereal this weekend for my girl She also drinking lesser milk than usual. I read that when baby drinks lesser, it is one of the signs can start on solids. But start with one grain cereal first eg brown rice. I'm going to try giving her like few teaspoons, see her reaction.

--cookiezz--

I also like to ask my hubby do things when he is at home. He travels quite often so when he is at home, i will ask him to help in taking care of baby because when he is not around, i do everything! Makes me super tired. Yes i agree one child already make us soo busy, working is not as busy as taking care of a child, can make us ki siao!

--rach--

So good your girl still wanna latching. Mine doesn't want already.

michelle
u started on what kind of puree? i thought suppose to start with cereals first? so how is he doing on solids? whats the feeding schedule like? my girl not drinking well leh... ytd only took in like 550ml, a very drastic drop. i'm worried she will lose weight.

bernice
yeah, will monitor, if bad will go to PD to have it looked at. it looks like enzema..smally dots red red just below the lower eyelid n very close to the inner corners of her eye (only 1 eye though), but her eye is not swollen - yet.

oh...i also gonna start on brown rice cereal, am waiting for it to arrive.
happy.gif
so how old is your girl now? mine is gonna be 20 wks tomorrow. so how many teaspoons are u intending to give?

bernice,

yeah.. gotta cook. My #1 oso need to eat.. morning wake up oso cook for my hubby bring to work. haha my life is all abt cooking and taking care of kids. thats y end of the day very tired and dun feel like doing anything.. and i can only go to bed at ard 12.30 to 1am. cos my last pump at 12am. then ard 6am wake up to pump again and the cycle start again. haha tiring loh!

Kiki> that's a good one!! My mum laughed also at the email...
happy.gif

Bernice> haha.. Dun envy me.. My trouble will come when I try to wean her off.. No breast no sleep now Lo...

bernice
wat brand cereals r u going to give ur gal? my gal still drinks milk but she gets distracted easily while drinking and dont want her milk after that. So takes quite long to finish up. Sometimes left abit then i dont give anymore.

yeah i miss latching my gal now.. sigh... pumping is so troublesome and think ss is dropping.. only 2nd day at work leh... sianz

hi mommies!! missed u all...

been reading a bit here and there when im free... missing out a lot more of the posts...

my bb gotten milk rash all over his face... poor thing.. not handsome liao... it gotten worse even worse when he scratches them... ouch lo... pain in my heart... went to see GP and was given steroid cream cos normal cream not effective.. gotta wait for 10 days to see results..

my boy oso shown interest in our food rather than his milk.. even our water bottles he want them all... started to "sweep" stuff off table, he can flipped! (keeping extra eyes on him)... still cant sit well (can topple sideways or front... hahah), looks like he is also teething... but no signs of the whitish tooth yet :p

cant wait to let bb try solid food too.. my mom helping me to take care when im at work says to give home cooked types instead of the commercial ones..
My mom oso said: now bb eyeing for our food to eat, so eager to eat.. but once they can eat, they wont want to and will run around instead, then we will have to chase them to insist them eating the solid food... haha... so ironic..

im going back work nex week.. dreading the day to come... sighh... meanwhile rushing spring cleaning for cny too... if not no time to do it once back to work..

michelle & rach
haha...ya, thats a good article rite?

kam
oh...just 1 teaspoon? so little? brown rice cereals are ok rite?

Supply
you can try to take 1 glass of hot milo before the section. Might help.
NOw pumping but seem like non stop. Pump 1 hr liao but not empty lei. can feel there is still milk inside but nonthing come out. jia lat

Bernice,
Mine too. No more latching. try to latch her, end up non stop crying then I kanna block duct again. Managed to clear the block after 2 days.

Meals
Anyone still eating a lot at this point since you bf? I still feel hungry easily. Wonder will I grow fat.

Formula milk will increase price this year. Think Similac will increase to 70+ and 1 tin might last only 2 weeks. So if you can, try to continue as long as you can.

Jassie (jas_soh)

oat? really.. currently my ss jus sufficient for my bb feed per day, he drinking lesser oso...

but once he grow bigger might need more milk hor

Jenifur, Rach

Your loots from Jul are with me. Do inform me when you are coming by to collect ya?

kiki hahaha, i like the article! would love to meet up when they can start crawling, but I will be going back to work in April
sad.gif

yeah, better not to put anything so near the eyes! Brought KAte to see the eye specialist today at KKH and her bottom lashes are causing abrassion on her eyeballs, so poor thing, everyday must apply some eye gel as a protective layer - for 3 mths!!

connie I am still eating A LOT because i am currently still total- breastfeeding my daugther
happy.gif
but eat so much, i think i'm still loosing weight...breastfeeding is like a slimming session!

feeding pattern hmmmm, some you mentioned that baby not drinking as much, so might move on to solids, i think mine's the other way round! she has been sleeping throughout the night since 2 mth olds, and recently, like 2 days ago, she started waking up for feeds!!

HUSBANDS *sigh* mine has NEVER bathed baby, NEVER left baby alone with him, NEVER feed baby....and can only "manage" baby for tops, 15mins, then baby starts to cry and he'll go 'nah, she wants you'
sad.gif
sad.gif

*HUsband*
actually i quite lucky, my hubby help to bathe, feed and change him (he in charge of poopoo, i incharge of pee) =P

sometimes when my boy show pattern at late night, he is e one carry him, sing song and pet him to sleep. It can take about 1 hour plus lor.
He is veri patient, he nv lose temper on my boy b4 but i did =P sometime when my boy cry for "unknown" reason, i will get irritated lor. and i tell him "u cry also no use, i also dunno wat u wan?" i know I m a bad mummy, but i m willing to learn and change to a better one =)

**one bad point bout my hubby is he took bout 5mins to wear a romper for my boy. cos he don dare bend the hand.. haha

Paige
Mine too. Drink 1 more time at night but now 1 day range from 5-7 bottles of 120ml each.

PReviously was 5-6 bottles. But she can finish the milk in sleepy mood. If she is awake, 1 bottle can feed 3-4 times.

husband
most guys don dare to bath bb cos scare injure or accidently drop them. hubby only start bathing bb when he can stand. If he poo, he will pass to me to wash lor.
Myfachoco, you are so lucky.

Rach> ha ya we shall avoid both of them :p

My HB shared this with me yest...
A husband doesnt understand why his wife always complain that she is very very tired being a houswife and looking after the kids. She is just at home when he has to spend long day at work.
So 1 nite he prayed, O God please let us exchange role tomorrow so that i can see how tiring it is.
the next day, when he woke up, he really became the wife and his wife the husband. So he spent the whole day as a housewife and know how tiring it is and his wife also realised its a hard world outside.
the next day when he woke up, he is still the wife. He said to God, o God i only ask for 1 day. i rather go to work! God said, o its too late, you are pregnant.

NUK pacifier
sorry, I'm a bit 'suaku', my daughter used to use the avent pacifier, but i think its time for her to change to a new one (as she is still using the 0-3 months) so, today i bought a NUK pacifier, but, it DOESN'T come with a COVER!!
Last time Avent ones all come with cover...so does NUK sell a cap for their pacifier? of you just use without cap?
kiki I bought the same one as yours...did you have a cap to go along with yours??

kris,
i always express using a shawl. and i usually wear nursing tops, so don't need to lift the shirt up.

sharon,
i leave my milk in the office pantry fridge. only when i am leaving the office do i pop everything into the FTG bag.

cutedevil,
for nightlight, i use a solar-powered torch from ikea. very small and portable and environmentally friendly.

shirley,
mine's in infantcare already. i started him on 4 jan when he was 3 month plus. so coming to a month already.

chase> wow. ur hubby can repair ameda pump. nice job =p

kiki> i only give my boy 1/3 of a apple puree from heinz a day. juz to let him get used to eating solid. than after tat he took his milk as per normal without vomiting

btw heinz puree states to eat from 4-6mths old.

paige> it's a sign tat she wants to start solid i think

Prinzess, i believe u r referring to this? v funny but a bit long though. enjoy!!

A man was sick and tired
Of going to work every day
While his wife stayed home.

He wanted her to see what he went

Through so he prayed:

'Dear Lord:

I go to work every day and put

In 8 hours while my wife

Merely stays at home.

I want her to know what

I go through.

So, please allow her body to

Switch with mine for a day.
'

God, in his infinite wisdom,

Granted the man's wish.

The next morning, sure enough,

The man awoke as a woman...

He arose, cooked breakfast

For his mate,

Awakened the kids,

Set out their school clothes,

Fed them breakfast,

Packed their lunches,

Drove them to school,

Came home and picked

Up the dry cleaning,

Took it to the cleaners

And stopped at the bank

To make a deposit,

Went grocery shopping,

Then drove home to put

Away the groceries,

Paid the bills and balanced

The check book.

He cleaned the cat's litter box

And bathed the dog..

Then, it was already 1 P.M.

And he hurried to make the beds,

Do the laundry, vacuum,

Dust, And sweep and mop

The kitchen floor.

Ran to the school to pick up

The kids and got into an argument

With them on the way home.

Set out milk and cookies and

Got the kids organized to do

Their homework.

Then, set up the ironing board

And watched TV while he

Did the ironing.

At 4:30 he began peeling

Potatoes and washing

Vegetables for salad,

Breaded the pork chops

And snapped

Fresh beans for supper.

After supper,

He cleaned the kitchen,

Ran the dishwasher,

Folded laundry,

Bathed the kids, And put

Them to bed.

At 9 P.M. He was exhausted

And, though his daily chores

Weren't finished, he went to

Bed where he was expected to

Make love, which he managed

To get through without complaint.

The next morning, he awoke

And immediately knelt by the

Bed and said: -

Lord, I don't know what

I was thinking.

I was so wrong to envy my

Wife's' being able to stay

Home all day.

Please, Oh! Please,

Let us trade back.. Amen!'
The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied:

'My son, I feel you have

Learned your lesson and

I will be happy to change

Things backto the way

They were.

You'll just have to wait

Nine months, though.

You got pregnant last night.'

--kiki—

How is your girl? Have the rashes subsided?

Where you ordered your brown rice cereal? Which brand you using? I intend to give her about 2-3 teaspoons. You?
My girl is 18 weeks old.

--Crystalz—
If I follow your everyday routine, I can ki siao already! Everyday you bring your 2 kids with you to do your marketing?

--Rach—
Does your girl need pacifier when you’re making her sleep? Now she latches, do enjoy every moment of it!

--milkyway18—
I bought Healthy Times Brown Rice Cereal from Cold Storage. Some NTUC also sell.
Here is the website: http://www.healthytimes.sg/cereal.php
Do rest more during weekends, drink more milk to maintain ss. How many times you pump in office?

--Connie--

Ya mine cries too when I try to latch her again else she just stare and dunno what to do, mouth still closed. Was overseas for 6 days, so didn’t latch her and when I came back, she doesn’t want to latch already. Sigh!

I feel very thirsty and hungry after pumping too.

--Paige—

The Nuk pacifier does have a cover ley.

Who is going kidzloft sale tomorrow??

morning ladies

thanks for sharing them...

Brought boy for jab yesterday, hope he's doesn't get a fever. Brother was hospitalised too...

Melissa THANKS for the tip of burping my boy when he wakes up. I tried it several times now already, and it works!! Thank you thank you!

rach Blessed was asking for floats, so maybe she'll ask you for contct if she needs. You all bought for your kids already? I wanted to bring my boy swimming but people say cold this and that. So, I'm still waiting, may be easier for me when his neck stiffens properly, now still a bit wobbly.

Michelle Din know glass bottles can explode in freezer. I thought they were the safest to be freezed. Really lucky you heard it!

Hi Mummies, haven't had much time to check out the forum with work and all. My milk is slowly getting less and less. Used to get at least 150ml now 130ml, sigh. I just hope to be able to keep it up till she's 6 mths old but already she's taking 2 bottles of formula a day. She doesn't latch anymore because it took her 5 days to accept the bottle and we're all afraid if I breastfeed again she'll refuse the bottle ;(. Oh well.

My pumping schedule
6.30am - pump
10.30 am - pump (sometimes I don't get to do this cos of meeting but I make sure before lunch)
depending between 2.30 and 3.30 pm - pump
5.00 pm - pump (if I have time, cos I can't pump till baby's gone to sleep, 80 ml).
9.15 pm - pump
11.15 pm - pump (100ml only)

I'm lucky that I have my own room that I share with another mummy so she's super understanding. I can pump and read emails, checkout stuff online etc.

Now waiting for the cleaning auntie to make her rounds then I can close the door and pump ;).

TGIF

Connie me me, I'm ALWAYS hungry. After eating one plate of noodles, I can't even feel it touched my stomach. Problem, because I haven't even lost the additional weight I gained during pregnancy. Cham... Will eating less hurt the milk supply, I wonder... Everyone say they lost weight due to BF, but I don't see me losing weight leh...sigh...

Paigey Mine same like yours. He's been sleeping throughout nights, usually till 5or 6am, but 2 days ago, woke up at 3am for milk!

paige
nvm, we can always meet up on wkends ah! i guess by the time our sept babies start crawling, most mommies will be back at work, so if wanna have small gathering, got to make it on wkends or maybe PH?
happy.gif

how did u realise that kate's bottom lashes were causing abbrasion to her eyes? did u noticed it yourself or PD pointed it out? oh no...poor thing, does she cry when u apply the eye gel?

yes, all the NUK pacifiers i bought does come with a cover. the one you bought doesn't come with one? where did u get it from?!

michelle
oh...hmm...i think i'd start with rice based cereals first...then maybe i'd try apple puree. hey, can i just ask u, for commercial puree, once u open, u put in fridge? then when u wanna feed again, how do u heat it up?

mamato6js
haha...thats a good one too!

bernice
no leh...her rashes has not subside..still there but at least looks the same didn't get worse. oh..i ordered the happy bellies brown rice cereal, i tompang jenifur's order when she ordered from another BP. i actually have no idea how many teaspoons to give, maybe when it comes i'd see if there're instructions on the tin or not. or...probably as advised by kam, start with 1 teaspoon first, then gradually increase. i might drop by to see what they have at kidsloft tomorrow
