(2009/09) September 2009 MTBs

--jul--

Just curious how come u switched fm aft 1st mth? I'm supplementing w fm now, using s26.tot of changing brand.when introducing the new brand, do we need to mix milk with the old brand and the new brand so tat they get use to e new brand slowly?

my twins grew so fat with s26!! many moms told me tat brand v fattening LOL... i was an s26 baby too. mom only bfed me for 1 mth!!

s26 didnt contain dha back then which was why i switched to abbott similac after 6 mths, not sure abt now.

bernice

same as mamato6.. i heard s26 is fattening. n i noticed tmc used enfalac a+, so i follow n switch to enfalac lor

r u supplementing a lot? if not, dun need to mix lah. in fact, i'm not sure abt mixing 2 types of fm in the same feed. how to mix the proportion of water?

mini cupcake

oic. i heard that nan is quite 'heaty' coz got quite a lot of iron, not sure how true? i nvr did detailed study into fm coz i was in denial

mini cupcake

coz that time i kena post natal blues mah. dun have milk somemore. everyday 'use tears to wash face'. so hubs was in charge of buying fm. i just stayed at home to cry n bf n make fm n pretended it wasn't fm haha

mini cupcake, bernice

oh yeah, another reason y i use enfalac a+ is b/c my pd wrote that as the fm to supplement when bb was warded for jaundice n i din have enough ebm.

Wah jul reali Tat bad huh.tink my supply drop tremendously nw at werk no time to pump I brought my pigeon fridge to go to n fro but then nvr pump,so sian alady.feel sad to give up bf but seems tat no choice.

mini cupcake

Yeah lor, that time really very chaim lor!

Hmm.. dun be sad lah. It's very hard for working mums to keep up bf/pumping. Busy, tired, stressed.. all these play a part. No BM also can love ur BB in other ways mah.

I was just very stubborn in those days, that's why I was so miserable.

~mini cupcake~
I give isomila as FM. Initially was using similac but bb allergic to cow's milk. So PD tell me to give Soya based FM.

~bernice~
Tat time I oso asked my PD the same qn.. He said no need to mix or slowly chg, Juz chg directly. so I did tat.. Bb ok with it oso. : )

~Jul~
Wah.. Can u/s how u feel abt not enuff bm back then.. Same here..

Apr 09 moms hv seen me use Freshening brand alcohol wipes (70% Isopropyl Alcohol) 2 disinfect high-chairs & table-tops b4 I put my boy in them. Actuali, I use A LOT of these coz itz veri effective to kill bacteria & mold. I use them to clean new toys, wipe any work surfaces regularly, definitely on diaper-trays 2 b4 I put my bb on them… It also evaporates veri quickly so doesn't leave any residue or scent (unlike Dettol). Tho when u 1st open e wrap there is e alcohol smell (nt e drinking kind hor) BUT it dissipates fast. What I do is kp e kidz as far away as I kan when I'm using these wipes, dan clean oledi walk some distance away & come back agn. Also, if I use it to clean anything dat made of fabric e.g. soft-toy, I leave e toy aside 2 dry for abt 15mins. More details available fr the links I've provided above. Alcohol wipes are also handy for spring-cleaning use 2. I use it 2 wipe any new utensil, wipe off mold on items kept in storage 2 long. Even toilet seats. But CANNOT use on any wooden furniture which is treated i.e. wood varnish kan come off...

JTS, I ever used these alcohol wipes to clean some newly bought teether, toys... I was veri worried when e paint on these items started 2 come off -- is it up 2 standard & safe 4 bb to use? In e end, I nvr gave the toys & teether to my kidz.

Why I'm arranging diz direct discount:
1) I use a lot -- coz e alcohol wipe is a must-have for disinfecting surfaces when I'm out w my kidz
2) Stocks r inconsistent @ pharmacies - I kan run to 3-4 outlets & nt find any!
3) Stocks r nt 'fresh' - usuali I end up buying stocks dat wl expire in 6-8M x. Bt manufacturer says items actuali hv 24M shelf-life. E manufacturer is promising fresh stocks of @ least 20M b4 expiry i.e. wipes won't b dried up

If u r interested to purchase, pls add ur order below. I’ve listed all details abt price & MOQ. Tx!

forwarded the email already.

Connie
you pm me first if not I won't have your email.

Re: FM
I am a supporter of enfa. Cos my boy grows beautifully on it. Now my girl also supplemented with enfalac a+.

Jul
it's true that fm that has higher content maybe more likely to cause constipation. But I have never compared all the fm though. I went straight to enfa :)

fm in hospital is rotated one. All sponsored by the dif manufacturers.

yes i agree s26 fattens baby fast!

--kris--
S26 is actually not expensive.one of e cheapest.1 can is $34.10

-- jul , melissa --
Ok.thanks for e info.i'm supplementing abt 2 feeds a day.1 in the morning n 1 at night. i thought of changing to Nan or Enfalac cos i see like these brands like got more nutrients.nan is made in switzerland.enfalac in netherlands. But i know tat changing brands is a risk cos may not be suitable for baby.

Connie:
I sent #1 to childcare centre playgroup (for 18-24-month), they don't really have proper lessons, but my #1 learnt to use fork to self-feed within 3 days through observing others. i saw the tots house, dunno good or not. which cc u are sending your #1?

Formula milk
That time when my gal poo once every 4-5 days, the PD ask me to try Nan if I want her to poo everyday. Thought Nan not bad.

Anyone giving Similac to bb? Colleague say the poo will be greenish col. Anyone notice?

Wai wai,
I q for cherry heart at Jurong West. They ask me to wait till jun. So just q and see how.
Wanted to go see the talent plus (playgroup) open house today at 3pm but totally forget about it till 7pm when I was expressing milk.Yesterday still can remember but today, hai....

prinzess
my gal also drinks 120ml for bottle leh... but she's so much heavier than ur boy leh!! wonder if i should up the amt but also scared my ss will drop when i go back to work on 27th, then cant catch up with the intake then may have to supplement. i now pump lesser also cos my freezer is running out of space and i noticed the amt i get is no longer as much as before.. siao liao..

Connie:
i sent my #1 to Cherie Hearts PG1 at Sengkang. the teacher is very nice, sms me to ask about my girl's health even though she has withdrawn.

Michelle:
good that your boy can roll, no need to scream for help when stuck on tummy. my boy manages to roll over sometimes, but sometimes still screams for help when he is stuck lol

Hello everyone,
may I join u all? I had a boy last Sept, and it's interesting to know my boy is like some of your babies. He's still yet to learn how to flip (tho I'm not exactly looking forward to that cos I know I'll be busier thereafter), and likes to watch the TV too. This thread runs so fast, I can hardly catch up.

Waiwai
OMG?! My supply also went up during my period, but that cos for 7 days I don't have to take contraceptive pills mah.

I think a lot of mommies will be put at ease hoping their SS will also go up when their period come!!
Good luck, mommies!

Welcome to the Sept'09 Moms thread!!

If you think the thread is fast now, you should have seen it in its heydays when everyone was still pregnant.

I don't know why it's so for other moms, but I blame my fertility for being over-enthusiastic about making more babies.

just to drop in for a quick hello to all! have been busy for the past two days and can't catch up with all the postings lo!!! lol, shelled is right about the pace having slowed down already.

welcome jolimilk! i also just joined the thread.

my ss went down during my menses lei... boobs saggy saggy soft soft, macheam no milk but bb has no problem with his intake, but probably just take a longer time to fill himself these few days.

mini, my guess is that once our body is READY TO CONCEIVE A NEW BABY, the menses would just automatically return lol..kekek.. i might be wrong altogether. =) you should be happy that that your menses has not returned yet but then again, dun take it as a natural contraceptive method! that's how i got my #2 when my #1 was only 4mths old..kekekek...

mini cupcake,

~connie~
yes, my bb has abit of green poo when he drinks similac. initially thot what happened.. called up my PD's clinic and the staff advised it's due to similac's FM.

thot of letting my boy try Nan.. but again most prob will consult his PD first b4 trying..

connie - i m using similac to supplement now, no green poo leh. but poo is erratic, can be twice a day or once in 2-3days... i use similac cos i saw my colleague's son quite ba ba frm drinking it, fm baby. i bot the snackies last time round and use them now to put milk powder haha! next time then put snacks

prinzess

if ur boy's growing well, i dun c the need to increase intake if it's enough for him. later become overweight how muahaha

freezer

erm.. i know this topic has been discussed, but i din really pay attn coz i din need it then.

mummies who have one : can share where u bot, how much, sorage capacity? and does it consume a lot of electricity? what abt size wise - dies it occupy a lot of space?

Shall we just confirm timing for GELARE, CAUSEWAY POINT this TUESDAY, 26th JAN at 3:30pm???

thx thx for the welcomes! haha, I really really wonder how you all manage to keep up cos there's always so many things to do.

Jul_04,
I've also been looking around for freezer, but haven't decided to get it yet, cos I wonder if my ss will dip when I get back to work. Identified 3 so far.
1. Fisher & Paykel - drawer type and super good, but super expensive $899 - my dream
2. Farfalla - 4 drawers, 110 litres. $299 at Carrefour. Will probably get this one if I do get it, only problem is that it's not auto-defrost, so the ice might accumulate over time
3. Kardeka or Techno - but this is a chest freezer, and I'd think drawers are more convenient.

haha, and i think i read somewhere abt elephants. He also loves his purple elephant. Always talk to it like friend, so funny to watch...
