hee. finally manage to train my boy to let me sleep at nite. now he wakes up n latch on at 630am, 930am (bottle-110/120ml), 1230pm (bottle-110/120ml), 330pm (bottle-110/120ml), 630pm (bottle-110/120ml), latch him at 930pm and finally dreamfeed him (bottle-140/150ml) at ard 1230am =p

It's recommended to start solid between 4-6 months. There is no 1 date that suits all babies. All depend on how ready your baby is to start solid. Look for signs of readily for solid (taken from www.wholesomebabayfood.com, this is quite a useful website for reference when your baby starts solid):
- Loss of tongue-thrust reflex - This allows baby to drink and swallow liquids with ease; with the tongue-thrust reflex still present, baby may simply drink in liquid purees or push the food back out.
- Ability to let you know she is full from a "meal" with signs such as turning away from the bottle or breast. This is important so that baby is able to self-regulate the amount of food being eaten. This helps stop baby from accidentally overeating as parents may continue to feed baby thinking that she is still hungry.
- Ability to sit up and hold head up unassisted
- Interest in your food
- Doubling of birth weight
- Frequently waking in the middle of the night when a solid sleeping pattern had been established. This may not be the best indicator that your baby is ready for solids. Please keep in mind that a growth spurt will occur between 3-4 months of age, 6-7 months of age and also 9-10 months of age. Baby may also be waking due to an illness or teething.

now i'm tempted to get an exersaucer too... surfing around for a 2nd hand one now. what brand is yours? does it comes in a box (ie can fit into car) ... I'm worried will be troublesome to transport when I move house.

no lah, i think might get keys around CNY period, cos they are painting the block halfway already. 3/4 of the estate have gotten the keys to the new flats. and the remaining 1/4 like us will have to stay and be feasted upon by the mozzies and cockroaches.

my #1 had her 1st taste of cereal at 5-month old. the first 2 weeks is to let her learn spoon feeding and get a taste of cereal. only when she is 6-month old then she had cereal / puree as a proper meal

Yes, both my exersaucer came with box. The one we bought is from Brightstarts. The one HR won is from Evenflo.
But I must warn you, some babies (including my boy) lost interest in exersaucer very fast, you may get to use it for a few months only. Though I must say it's a very good gadget to help him learning to stand.
This is the one we bought for our boy (he was 4 months old then). I chose this because when his legs move, there is funny sounds coming from the bottom panel, encourages him to move more and it's cute

some of my gfs started their bbs solids at 4 mths, some at 5 and some at 6 mths. so i think it depends if your baby ready or not lor..but min. is probably 4 mths?? so we start with cereals then puree is it?
lately i'm also having a hard time feeding my gal milk. she is very aware of her surroundings now and tends to look here and there, else she will wanna talk. i can no longer watch tv and feed her, else she keeps turning towards the tv and will be very slow in drinking. somedays, she drinks very little too. like today, drank only 100ml at 5am, then rejected her milk twice when i tried to feed her again at 830am and 930am. finally at 1030am, she decided she was hungry enough to drink her milk again.
i think i've come to the conclusion from here on, unless she grumbles or cries abit, i won't feed her unless pass 5hrs. coz i'm throwing milk away all the time and more importantly, i feel really frustrated and exhausted almost like trying to force feed her!

kiki - mine also like on milk strike. been feeding him lesser now if not one feed can take up to 45 min. very tiring for me! and now when i go to the fridge to take milk, i will hear sandwich say, "dont feed him 100ml already!" hahaha! but it works. feed lesser then if he hungry he will let me know if not i keep forcing and throwing!

ur boy birth weight also quite heavy right? the heavier babies tend to double birth weight slightly slower than the lighter ones so dun worry. my boy birth weight was 3.87kg and i just weighed him this morn he is 7.9kg so just doubled only. he is 14 and half weeks now or is it 15?

can i ask u all ah... does your baby perspire alot? esp after milk feed? my gal can work up alot of sweat leh... adter feeds can see beads of sweat on her forehead n the back of her head all wet. after that she becomes sticky baby. is this normal?
also, for FM, do u make it room temp or with some warm water? my gal refuses to dirnk if her milk is cold/rm temp. if she is slow to drink, after a while, i have to warm it up then she will finish it! damn fussy!

i seem to be veri VERI forgetful after giving birth (i gt good memory b4 birth), always forget to bring 1 stuff out. sometimes wipes, hot water, handkerchief, mitten i got take booties, blanket, i can hold his pillow hold until dunno drop where.
sometime i bathe, i forget whether i got shampoo my hair, then shampoo again.. =(

i seem to be veri VERI forgetful after giving birth (i gt good memory b4 birth), always forget to bring 1 stuff out. sometimes wipes, hot water, handkerchief, mitten i got take booties, blanket, i can hold his pillow hold until dunno drop where.
sometime i bathe, i forget whether i got shampoo my hair, then shampoo again.. =(

yah my gal does perspire too but not after every feed lah.. only when she struggles and cries, she will start to perpsire.. then i also end up sweating too cos trying hard to pacify her and feels pek chek and hot.. lol

our baby same pattern... my hubby banned my boy from wearing WHITE and colorful. he look super FAT in WHITE. i bought him a veri nice colorful prints romper which i like so much, end up he look like a FAT CLOWN =(

yes yes.. certain clothes make her look fat lor.. hahaha... she needs to wear baggy clothes to hide her round round tum tum.. kekeke
now i'm at my mum's place and forgot to bring her clothes so my mum dressed her in a white onesies with small flowers.. look so ugly leh.. cos the tummy is really protruding.. hahaha

Wah, the one I have can be rented for $45 per week leh! Should consider renting it out after my girl doesn't want to sit in it. I have 2, so can fetch $90 per week, $360 per month leh!!!
If you rent, you should take note that DON't rent those with a teether one, else it's pretty unhygenic IMO. Babies this age tends to put everything they can crab into the mouth.
