That time I ask nobody responded except Gina, so I didn't take any action.

no chance to go out tdy. sam was fussing like nobody's business! kept crying, n when he did manage to fall asleep, he'll wake crying after 5min. now that i think abt it, since he woke up hungry at 4am.. wonder if he's gog thru a growth spurt? he'll be 16 weeks on fri

It was beside her eye and when her tear touched it, she cried even louder... Same thing when I cleaned her wound and applied cream on it... I had to coax her for half an hour... My heart was bleeding looking at her sniffle and catch her breath whilst suckling on my almost empty after pumping boob. I think she was too exhausted from the crying she skipped her 1-2am feed.

he woke up at 445am, n 55am i think. too tired to keep track of de time. =p both times i stuff pacifier, n n go back sleep liao. will try for a few more nites =p

gosh my baby so fussy last nite! no fever but kept waking up dunno for wat. my gal sleeps with me so i cant afford to hv him crying so just stuff the boob into his mouth. i can tell he is nt v hungry from the way he sucked but he refused to unlatch until some 15-20 mins later. aiyo dunno if its becos of jab that he so fussy. i only slept like 1hr-2hr-1hr n i gotta wake up already b4 he wakes my gal up

my mil keeps telling me to give my baby water too!!! she says if dont give now, bb wont want to drink water next time. and she says if it's not feeding time, should just give water and not milk. But i told her i'm BF so i should feed on demand given that BM is diluted and she might be hungry b4 the next feeding time of 3 hrs interval. And my stoopid hubby also listen to her theory of giving water b4 next feeding time. cos he has seen how she has put that into practical when she babysit children many yrs back. He says it minimised their fussiness and cryings. I told him i rather do it my way!! Anyway shown him a report b4 on water intoxification too but i cant find the link now. So now he diam diam, but my mil will stil nag every wkend i see her on giving water.. haha... but not for long lah, after 6months, we can give some water rite? How much? Heng, my gal wont be under my mil's care when i go back to work.. hehe

I read the report about not to give water to baby <6 months old. Other than the affecting the sodium level, another reason is that young baby has very small stomach, so if he is being fed with too much water, he then can't take as much milk, may lead to lack of nutrients.
But, to me, I think the key take home message is don't give TOO MUCH water to young baby. A little bit of water will be fine. My nanny insisted to give at most 10ml of water to my girl everyday, so that my girl get to like drinking water. She is very strong in this cos her boy (partially BF) didn't drink water before 6 months, and after that refused water in toddler age, making him having serious constipation problem till 12 years of age! I am quite relax in this, as I don't think 10ml of water will do any harm to baby. So I followed her suggestion. My boy (fed on FM though) drank water since he was 1 week old, and he is truly a water lover now. Though, honestly, I think TBF baby doesn't really need water.

i was feeling a little feverish last fri too, then i told panadol and slp wen my gal was slping, then woke up feeling much better. think the weather is not helping much... so mummies, pls take care and rest if possible!

not very true wor...
my sis #1 when bb time oso drink water cos he is on FM... but he dun like water when he is in toddler age keke.
and my #1 never had water till like 6months old (only given little water when i feed her medicine) but now she likes plain water.. can even say nice to drink. faintz
think its up to individual child... some children just simply hates plain water keke just like we adults.

when i'm preggy with #1, i bring my hubby for breastfeeding workshop etc haha so he oso believe that no water etc. And lucky me, my mil dun interfere in this too. jst that only when she cry earlier, she would ask me to feed her milk thats all... now #2.. she oso dun chap on milk /water thingy.. but complain that my ger head is flat.. haiz. i'm trying to do something with that...

my girls at 1130-12pm..thats the last feed and after rocking her in my arms swaying my butt..she'll fall asleep..once after she goes to sleep...then put on cot, she can sleep till 7-8am..
sometimes she still wake up at 5/6am for feed..
last nite she didnt..think bad mummy here...bring her out whole day after jab.she totally concussed...
still sleeping now...thats why i woke up to pump.. 2 wet patches on my dress. hahaha...

i've been sponging her from the jab...with a wet washcloth many times ...just in case..
but she got really warm at 6plus.... her usual temp is already 37.3-37.4, so when she got that warm, confirmed is > 37.5, so i gave her the fever med given by PD..
1.5ml per 6 hourly.... my girl is 5.9kg as of yest... 12 weeks old...
wah..so u latched him in front of her while she jabbed ah??? steady!! hehhee...
nurse only asked me to hold on to my girl's arm gently..we we talking to her..suddenly the jab went in....she wehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for 2 sec..then ok liaoz..

my PD says next month..Mmm...then i drag in that case...4.5months then i go..wahahaa...

Of course it's not guarentee that if feed baby water earlier, they would grow up to be liking water. There are a lot of other contributing factors for sure. Like many other things, it's up to each individual to decide whether or not to give water <6 months.
My girl increased 1 more feed before bedtime. Aiyoh, not enough EBM for her. So from today onwards, have to pump 4x at work to meet her demand. All blame to my lopsided breast....... how I wish BOTH boobs produce the same amount :-( Now that siao boob only can pump out like 20-30ml per session, sigh!

There we go! good morning ladies.
I've take Jul's route... giving marc EBM mostly because he won't finish a meal on the breast. Sigh. Screams like I'm trying to poison him after 3-5 mins. Tried to nurse lying or leaning back because my LC suggested it, but it doesn't work lei. woke up this morning at 5:30am, latched him with a full breast. He stopped on his own, played a bit with my Mum, then decided at 6:30am that he was hungry again. by which time, I had started pumping, so I just gave up and gave him the 100mls. sigh. Any suggestions?
uh, i forgot, who wanted the paracetamol dose? 3ml of the 120mg/5ml solution is about right for a 7.6kg baby.

i cant rem when is my next jab. later i go check my appt card ok. dr belinda is v motherly la she doesnt wanna jab too close an interval. if she say ok then i also ok lor. yest spent so long time in her room chatting abt our kids schools haha...

wah ur lopsided boobs really serious hor. mine is abt 30-40ml leesser than my right so at least not too bad la. looks like maybe ur gal on growth spurt?

anyway, thanks gals for ur inputs on the paracetemol dosage. so far no need give him yet. but he so grumpy today i gave in to latch him more instead. usually he is on ebm in the daytime so i can run my errands.

erm.. he managed to poke his eye the first time hubs gabe him this rubbery crab chew toy. after that, he has no more toys haha

oh sam aws scratches his face. he gets red scratches, bleeding, scabs etc on his nose, eyelids, forehead, temples, corners of the eye etc.. a;ll healed w/o scar. dun be too heartpain lah.. bb's skin v gd one

it's gd lor. throw him down after feeding to rest, esp when he doesn't burp, to reduce merlion-ing. can also put him there a while to entertain himself so i can go toilet, grab a drink.. n sometimes he'll nap there

my girl was given 1.5ml.... i read the bottle it says 250mg/5ml
so i think she's taking 75mg??
now she's 38.1-38.2. i was sponging her...but felt safer to give paracetamol..since i gave her once last nite.. in fact, she felt warmer last nite than she is now..
i wonder what temp she was having last nite! *gasp*
can i bathe my girl now huh???
yest morning i didnt bathe coz 7am bringing her out for jab..tot can come back bathe...
end up i reached home 11pm..
and if can, warm or tap water temperature??

mine nt fever but super sticky leh. so sleepy but each time only sleep 15 mins. win already lor i no need do anything. this holi so busy with him end up cant do things with kids they play facebook a lot! if he so grumpy later how to leave him to maid while i run my errands huh??

is this a phase marc's gog thru? but feeding ebm has pros n cons lah. u control the amt, know exactly how much they're drinking, n it's easier to establish feeding routine. i rem the lc telling me that as bbs grow, shd switch from demand feeding to parent-directed feeding. but it's personal choice lah.
cons being aws need to pump n store - all the washing n sterilising can kill! n need to worry abt storage when gog out, can't go out too long else boobs might explode, etc
