I started training my bb at 5 weeks old. Initially, i tried to train him to sleep thru fm 1am to 7 am. In between, he did wake up but i din feed him, just rock him and give him the pacifier. i let him sleep in the rocker cos din buy the bb cot. Slowly bring forward the timing to 11pm - 7am till he was 2 mths. 2 mth later, i tranferred him to a single bed with the same route for 2-3 days. He did waked up in a few times in the nite cos nt used to the bed, hv to carry n pat him to sleep but still din feed. After that, i stopped using the pacifier after 2 days and tried to push forward the time to 9pm to 7 pm, dream feed him for 2 nite at midnite. He wakes up at 2am, 4 am, 5 am and 6 am for a few days but still din feed him until he get use to it but i did carry and pat him to sleep. There is 1 nite, im so angry tt i let him cried fm 4 am to 7 am (cried to sleep on and off). Slowly he adjustable the timing, i will tried to feed him as much as possible during the day time so wont be tt hungry at nite. I hv many sleepless nite in order to training him. Hv to try n error

u must be very tiring.
i still feed my boy in middle of night, coz i read somewhere that it is for nutritional reason that infants still need to be fed in middle of night for first 2-3 months. he is turning 3 months next week, so i'm going to train him to sleep through without midnight feed. my hubby trained #1 when she was 3+ month old, but it turns out that she needs pacifier to sleep until now. i'm hoping #2 can sleep without pacifier

thanks for sharing how you sleep-train. but i don't think i can do what you do! i tried the "cry it out" method with #1 and FAILED. i have no willpower! after the 2nd night of non-stop crying, my hb and i gave up. i think he was just not the "sleeping through" kind, if there's such a thing.

SLEEP PATTERNS
mommies, can share your bbs' sleeping hours from 7pm - 7am? i'm trying to migrate my bb's last feed but not sure what's the ideal time for the last feed. mine goes something like this... but it's still VERY erratic, sometimes it goes completely haywire.

730pm : Milk feed
800pm : Wipe down, change into jammies
900pm : BB sleep
12am : I pump
3am : BB wakes up, milk feed
6am : BB wakes up, milk feed
9am : BB wakes up, milk feed

She is now 3 mths old. My question is - How can I eliminate that 3am feed??? Is it possible???

I can't remember who mentioned about going out whole day then baby sleep through the nite, I did exactly that to my baby UNINTENTIONALLY at week 6, and she has slept through the night since then!!
Of course she has a sleep routine too

Recently, she can go 4 hrs without feed during the day (that's on top of sleeping from 9pm until 6 or 7am everyday without feeds!), I reckon that she has had a "bottle scare".

It happened when I started bottle feeding her as I had too much milk, so began expressing and I din't want to give them all to my dog again...
She cried and fuss and struggled through for 1 hr... man!! it was like a battle! Finally i kinda "forced" 90mls down her throat.
Today she doesn't want my breast, she doesn't want bottle, she was really 'cautious' when i offered her pacifier

my baby joseph just had his 6in1 today, until now so far so good but i forgot to ask my pd for the dosage of paracetemol for him just in case of fever. anyobe has dosage for a 7.6kg 3 mth old baby? cos i understand the dosage depends on the weight of baby

didn't know dosage of paracetemol is accordingly to weight. I brought my boy for 6 in 1 when he was 1.5mths, the GP gave paracetemol &amp; said to give bb 0.3ml 3 times a day if there's fever. tat time, he was abt 5.2kg.
Wow, your boy is 7.6kg!

thanks! i think 1ml is a safe dosage? cos my gal 16kg taking 2.5ml. joseph is exactly 3 mths old today. ur baby jabbed 6in1 so early ah?

couldnt decide whether to jab prevnar not my pd said 2 mths later then we decide cos today if jab 2 times v painful! plus the prevnar jab is super pain one! pd asked me latch him while she jab so minimise pain &amp; crying

do you face the same problem as i do. My little one seems to be drinking lesser and lesser.

he start drink 4oz when he is 1mth old and now he is 12 weeks old liao his consumption seems dropping...to 3oz...sian.. anyone also face this problem?

i think it's normal. my pd said that bbs need to hit 10kg at 1yr old. so as they progress in their weight, they may take less, even half their usual amt. he said it's not a prob, n will resume their intake in time.

not sure if 1ml is safe dosage... hmmm, maybe can give 0.5ml first? i am v cautious abt giving infants medicine.
we follow the immunization schedule chart given by PD, for new 6-in-1, the 1st 6-in-1 dose is at 1.5mths and 2nd at 3mths. Is this Joseph first 6-in-1?

my baby sometimes drink lesser when he's outside..think due to diff environment.
but sometimes at home drink lesser, sometimes drink finish what we give (120-130ml).
If your baby is continuously drinking lesser &amp; lesser, think you better bring him to see PD. Cos last time my PD told me if my bb drinking vol drop, must see him immediately.

my baby used to poo alot like 4-6 times in a day during his 1st mth, later in 2nd mth found he is allegric to cow's milk &amp; chg to soya based FM and his poo poo seemed better.. later become 2-3 times, recently once.. just these 2 days he pooed once in 2 days. Shld i be concerned or anyone encountered the same thing? Thanks.

sam is still not flipping. we changed his cot bumper n there's some fish pic on it. the silly boy just wudn't look at the fish on the right of his face, he'd rather turn his head upward at a 45deg angle n stare at the exact same fish at the top of his head!

yes its possible for them to reduce their intake. is he drinking more frequently? the old folks used to hv a sayg tat when a baby is abt to achieve his next developmental milestone like flipping or crawling, they also tend to drink less

prevnar is another name for penumococal. my pd always jabs first 6in1 at 3 mths. she said dun need jab so early lo. at 3 mths they r stronger n immune system better. 2nd 6in1 at 5 mths.

my bb not flipping neither does he lift his head when put on tummy. pd said he is a lazy bum! i gg to take put my LG mat n giv him more tummy time already

that time for the 6in1 my gal's weight 4.8kg, doc prescribed 2ml. do they go by weight or age? and the prevnar for my gal is jabbed 2 wks later.

My boys don't see PD one lah, but hor... GP give 3ml dosage hor. J "upgraded" to 5ml dose by the time he turned 1 yr old.
But like mama to 6Js said, it's prescribed according to bb's weight lor. But now I feel GP give too much!! Altho usually take 1-2 times then no more fever liao, so total all in all also didn't eat a lot. (Heng arh.)

mamato6js> yaya. is by weight not age. cos i remember tat time rach daugher younger den mine but her daughter was asked to take more dosage than my boy. he was only asked to take 1ml cos he was 4+kg, cant remember de weight than.
